Offical Check-In List 10/30/04 "Magic"

We're still onboard as of now. Ginger's pixie dust must've been very helpful because dh isn't being deployed before vacation.

11 for the T or T sounds good. Is there any problem bringing candy on board? We didn't bring any food last time, but I guess unopened candy would be okay?

If you need another adult to walk the kids around, I volunteer.

If there are any 10-11 year olds who'd like to email our dd let us know. She wasn't crazy about what she saw on the navigators for her age group, but would love to hang out with other kids. Okay, mainly girls. She still thinks boys are kind of odd.

Julie

Hey everyone. We are keeping a watch on Hurricane Francis (however you spell it). We are having our annual family reunion on Sunday and hopefully the storm will stay at sea.:umbrella:

Teri: Sorry to hear about the mess you were left with. Thank goodness there was no major damage.

Ginger & Michelle You guys crack me up!! Some of us wish we had bigger twins!! Why do you think I kept breastfeeding Emily for 6 months!:teeth: (sorry to all the men who post on here)

vikingfans: we had a tornado go right over our house 2 summers ago. It was only and F1, but it did some decent damage in the neighborhood. Our next door neighbor lost her whole screened in pool area. Fortunately for us we were okay. We had no idea what it was until it was over.:scared1:

Julie: YEA that you will still be able to come:jumping1:

If there are any 13 yr old girls that would like to email my daughter before the cruise, let me know. She has tried to email a girl named Danielle, but has not gotten a response and is a little down about that.

Have a great day everyone.

Dena::MinnieMo

What type of treats is everyone giving out? I have been asked by my wife on what we should bring, and I honestly don't know.

At home, the children seem to bring back a 6 month+ supply of candy from neighborhood t-or-t'ing. That is way out of the question. We don't want to bring large treats, nor do we want to return home with large treats. So, what type of items should we plan on giving out?

Thanks!

Scott:scratchin

Good afternoon:

Julie: you can PM me and give me your DD's email. My DD is 11 and she has been emailing several girls that are going. Glad you'll be joining us. Hope there are no surprises till then!!::yes::

Dena: I think I know who Danielle is and I'll give her a call. Your DD can PM us and my DD will get back to her. I also have a DS 13, but he usually doesn't get on. I just asked him and he said he'll try to email her back. Let's give it a try!! Hope the weekend goes well for you. I'm usually the one that has the family reunion. Have had it a few time when the weather didn't cooporate. Everyone in the house. Help!! Good luck, keeping our fingers crossed for you!!

Scott: I ordered some small things from Oriental Trading. Hoping I ordered enough. I think Ginger had a great idea. She posted some time back about fruit snacks, pretzels, things that kids can take on the islands. Thought that was great. I did get some candy though. What is Halloween without candy!!!:Pinkbounc
Sorry I can't eat their candy though!!::yes:: Would like to find a couple of Resses cups. Guess they would melt. Maybe M & M's. Love them too!!::yes:: Thought they would crush. I hope they have a Chocolate dessert to satisfy my craving!!!

Hope everyone has good night.

Michelle:

Just wanted to remind everyone that if you have paid your trip in full, you can call starting tomorrow and reserve your excursions. I am definitely signing my DS and DH for the dolphin swim, and my younger DS and I will probably do one of the snorkle excursions.
Not sure yet because today I went to Wal-Mart looking for snorkle equipment(mask, snorkle, and fins) I found 2 sets in clearence(sp?) for $14.00 a set. Thought this was a good deal. When she scanned them, they were only $4.75 a set. What a bargin!!!! Now I won't care if they get lost on the islands. Also I think now we will do our own excursion to Trunk Bay since we won't have to rent equipment. They had a few left, so I might go back tomorrow and get some more. These were adult sizes, my boys have big feet(fits men's 61/2 to 91/2).

Have a great day, got to get ready for Jimmy Buffet. He will be in Pittsburgh on Thursday!!!!

Talk to you guys later

I made my reservation for the Radisson Shuttle. We have a 10:00 shuttle as the 10:30 and 11:00 was booked. Ginger have you and Deana made your shuttle reservations yet?

Teri

Good Morning everyone!!

Just made my excursions reservations!!! Yeah:Pinkbounc

Not a problem getting through. Of course I called at 7:59am, and got right through.

That's a load off my mind. Booked the 2 DS's on the Teen thing at CC, the whole family for parasaling, oh help me, what was I thinking and the Golden Eagle Catamaran in St Maarten.

Now it's time to sit back and relax.

Michelle

/
Me too. Excursions booked.

Golden Eagle Catamaran, 5-Star St. John Snorkle and Beach, and Parasailing in Castaway Cay:bounce:

Only other option we are contemplating is getting a private charter boat to explore either St. Thomas/St. Johns or St. Maarten. This would be with another family we are friends with going along on the cruise. It would be in place of the Disney excursion. We would have nine people total, so the cost should be managable. I'll continue investigating for the next few days.

Michelle - what time were you able to get the parasailing. I took the earliest time offered to me: 2:30! I was surprised the other times were already taken. I made the call around 8:40 this morning.

60 days to go. Wow! :thewave:

Scott

No excursions for us this year. It would be too much with the baby.:cutie: But thats okay, I am sure we will have plenty to do!!

SCOTT: I usually make up little goodie bags filled mostly with trinkets and some candy. I always have to throw in some chocolate!

GINGER: Will you be bringing the adult chocolate this year again?:goodvibes

Teri: No, I did not make ressies for the shuttle yet, I think I will do that today.

Michelle: Thanks! How old is your DD?

Well, thats all for now, just praying and keeping an eye on the Hurricane, as we are right in the path they say it may come.

Dena::MinnieMo

Dena: My DD is 11, DS 13. I think he emailed your DD. I spole with Danielle last night. I think She PMed you. She is the DD of DRM also going with us and on the boards, although she doesn't post just reads. Hi Debbie!! Hoping everything goes okay with the family reunion and the weather.

Scott: What time time you book for the Catamaran? We are going early. I booked for the parasailing at 2:30 too. Thought that would better since I booked both DS's for the teen thing in CC.

So excited!!!!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :hyper:

Hi Everyone Hope you are safe from the latest hurricanes. We didn't book any excursions. Ithik we will do Coki beach on our own. Does anyone remember how difficult it was to get a cab from there? St Martin if we do anything we will just take the water ferry. We are creatures of habit I guess.
I am looking through oriental trading and I am wondering if the candy there is safe. Ihave orderd trinketsbefore but never food. As of right now we are driving so I hope the stuff will be oK in the car. ANy suggetions? I like the idea of pretzels and fruit snacks. The kids can eat those at the movies or shows. Any other ideas? I bought pencils but I am not sure if peopel wanted stuff they have to bring home.
We are so excited. Everytime the commercial comes on for DCL my ds (2) yells," I wanna go on the DISNEY CRUISE!" at the top of his lungs.

dis4me,
My Hubby and I are also going to Coki Beach in St. Martin. We are going to see Coral Wold next to Coki Beach first. This is our 2nd time in St Martin. Ther first time we just went to Great Bay Beach and rented 2 chairs and an umbrella for a few hours.

Dena-We are also watching hurricane Francis. I pray she turns back out to sea.

I think we will hand out gum. and candy like skittles, and starburst. That way I don't have to worry about it melting in the car.

Teri

Teri: I think you may mean St Thomas for Coki Beach. I've never been there but I did email Coral World. It sounds great, but we were just at Balitmore MD and went into their Aquarium.

I hope the weather turns for you too.

Michelle

taswira:

Last year you mentioned some special stateroom gifts Disney was offering for the Halloween cruise-- I think it was you. Any word on this for this year?

If it wasn't you, maybe whoever it was could answer?

Thanks

Hi Again Yes Terri Coki Beach is with Coaral World in St Thomas. It only takes about and hour to do the entire thing. The kids liked it.I thought it was a little less exciting than an aquarium.
We did Great Bay on our last 3 tros to St Martin last time we had a not so pleasant experience there but we will probably go back. It is very onvenient and e can do a little shopping then hitthe beach.
I would really like to Parasail on CC but I am a big chicken.:p

dis4me

I went parasailing on Castaway Cay and I thought it would be really horrifying. It wasn't. I found it kind of disappointing-- just floating up there gently. The view was great, but I expected it to be faster like a thrill ride. If you're not freaked out by heights or deep water, it's not bad at all.

Hi all:wave2:, thought I would sneak on for a minute. Glad I did you all have been chatting away.

Teri I'm glad it was only limbs and leaves to clean up. I think I made ressies for the shuttles but I can't remember. I don't think it really matters cause my DH will be driving us over dropping us off with the bags then he'll take the truck back to the Raddison. Since it's only him, no bags, he can hop on the next available shuttle back to the port.

Dena do you remember what time we went to the port last year? If I can find the adult chocs, I'll bring them. I wish there were rum fill snickers bars.

Julie I'm glad that Pixie Dust worked for you. Now can you send some my way to help me get this weight off.
I canceled my gym membership to try to save money for the Aug 20, 2005 cruise. Now I'm so sorry I did, I never take the time at home to workout.

O.K. I've got Ashley's candy jar in front of me, let's see what she has in it. Tootsie Rolls and pops, Bubblicious gum, skittles gum, now and laters, pixie stixs, life savers, dots, sweettarts, blow pops, Necco wafers and candy buttons her big thing lately has been fruit roll ups by the yard. She can't have peanut products but I can. It was peanut M&M's that put the 20 lbs on me that I just lose.
I'd buy my candy from Costco, B.J's, Wal-Mart ot Target before I would purchase it from OT. OT's seemed a little high in price for their candy, my opinion only..

Michelle, Coral World is very different from the Balto. Aquarium. It's more like an opened air aquarium with critters crawling around looking for a handout of crispy lettuce. Don't get me wrong it's really a neat place. Oh!!! BTW, golf is not my game, I just couldn't get that swing down.
I found grape tomatoes, watermelons and a cantalopes growing in Ashley's flower garden. Last year we used the area for composting. Our raised veggie gardens did awful this year but her little flower garden is producing wonderfully.

Hey Judi, good deal on that snorkling equipment and the dress. Sounds like you've got some growing boys, maybe future football players.
To all of our male posters, I hope I did not offend you with my girl talk.
Stay safe all, I've got work for the rest of the week, so I'll see you in a few.:flower:

Michelle & Dis4me I knew Coki Beach was in St. Thomas. I just have to much information in my head. I have been looking at soooo much on the web of different things to do in each Port. I am getting confused!

I think we migh go to Maho Beach in St. Martin. My Hubby wants to see the airplanes fly right over us.I don't know why since We live right across from the Charleston Air Force Base and see planes fly over all day. It still sounded like fun. I also want to try the guavaberry colada's. I missed out last time we went.

I hope everyone had a great day.:sunny:

Teri

Hi everyone. I read often but haven't posted much. I don't need to Michelle is my friend and covers most of my questions.

Dena Read your post about 13 yo DD Danielle is my DD. She has sent 2 emails without a reply. I wonder if they are lost in cyberspace. She was also a little bummed. She sent another email yesterday 8/30. Maybe she can send a pm.

I also booked excursions today. The wild side for DD13 and DS 16. and parasailing for me and DS 12. He is a little bummed that he isn't old enough to do the wild side. Any suggestions for activities for 12 yo on CC?
drm
Debbie

Debbie,
How about the bananna boat on CC? It looks like a lot of fun.
