I'm in the midst of revision for my exams, drama's over and done with but I have my French speaking exam tomorrow!
I had a lovely evening on Friday at the school formal. My dad's putting the photos up for me and my friend's already uploaded all of hers so I'll see what I can figure out how to post later.
It all started as soon as Physics ended on Friday last lesson, I ran home and got in the shower, got my hair done and my make up done and then wriggled into my dress. My dad took some photos and then my mum took me to Katy's where the limo was picking us up. It was ever so exciting and we were taking photos when the limo pulled up outside. Still taking photos, we walked over and waited for the doors to be opened. And waited...and waited! Our limo had only gone and broken down! We were bundled back into Katy's and waited half an hour for another one.
When we eventually got into the limo (and all the buses that we'd been blocking got past) we had some non-alcoholic champagne and did some toasts which set half of us off crying, not good when your make up's running before the night's even begun!
We pulled up outside the stadium and waited our turn to get out of the limo. It was so nerve wracking! Nobody could see that it was us and they were all assembled outside. We were by far the most dressed up of the girls but the lads were all in suits so we deemed everyone else underdressed and stepped out to face the papparazi like crowds! We got lots of admiring glances and several hugs and then we headed inside to see everyone else who was in the room. What a shock when we got to reception and all the teachers were stood in the reception waiting for us! It was really lovely.
Before the meal we were all running round admiring everyone (goodness our lads don't scrub up too badly at all!) and taking photos like there was no tomorrow. When we eventually settled and were served, there was a real sense of disbelief on my table, it seemed so unreal to actually be there and be gathered as a year group for one last time (needless to say there were more tears when I mentioned that!). We had a speech from Mr McGee and Mrs Hutchinson and then our head boy and head girl handed out some awards. I won the should have been blonde award!
The DJ was pretty terrible but we had fun anyway, everyone was up doing the cha cha slide at one point but we had to stop because we kept making the equipment break! By about 10:30 most people had dispersed and there were about 20 of us left to do the YMCA and the conga and have a really nice time. We all stayed to the bitter end and I'm proud to say we were the very last to leave that room!
It really was amazing, I can't quite believe it's all over and that I could be leaving school any day now. We don't actually get told when study leave is going to begin but it's only garuanteed we're in school until the formal. I suppose it'll feel real enought when I realise I have a matter of hours until my french exam so I really ought to go and do some more work on that!
