This morning, they played audio clips from the show, including one from Fantasia.

One of the guys commented that he finally figured out who she sounds like.... Nell Carter.

I would never have thought of that "watching her," but just "listening to her" - oh my goodness - she really DOES sound like Nell Carter...

Anybody else ever notice that?!?

Yep, that's what I thought when I first heard her voice, she sounded like the late Nell Carter. What did she died from anyways?

Kudos to the band! They were great! Much better than the last live band.

I did not enjoy last night. I love Gloria's music though.

Thought Diana did the best.

Didn't think that John did all that bad. His voice seemed much stronger and he was showing more emotion on his face during his song. Did you hear one of the band members yell out to him when he was done, like "way to go, John!"? My son pointed it out to me.

There is seriously no reason to comment on anyone last night, it was all just bad bad bad! This has got to be the worst theme they've ever done. I thought everyone sounded bad and no one sounded better than anyone else. I had it on but I was barely watching because I do not enjoy that type of music at all.

Besides the singing there's a few comments I have to make.

I was getting so extremely annoyed with how Fantasia kept saying Jennifer's name. Obviously it's an attempt to get her fans to vote for her. The 3 "divas" pretty much sing the same style of music so all the Jennifer fans would probably split between Fantasia and Latoya. Fantasia just wants to make sure that they all vote for her. I really hope her plan backfires and she makes it to the bottom 3 yet again, and hopefully goes home!

After John sang I was ready to hear Simon rip him apart. But I'm so happy about the comments Simon made, they were all so true! Unfortunately, I read that someone said it could have been an attempt at reverse psychology. Simon said that he'll probably be safe because so many people love him. He might have tried to get all his fans to think he was safe, so they wouldn't vote for him as much.

And about tonights choice of wardrobe, there were some people who didn't know how to flatter themselves too well.

I voted for John last night and I could barely get through for the first hour! I kept calling and all I kept getting was a busy signal. I think I might have gotten about 10 votes in during the first hour, and was able to get through during the second hour.

As for tonight's bottom 3, it should be interesting. I don't think John will be there because his fans are getting more and more mad each week from comments which make them vote more and more. George has never been there so I don't think he will. Fantasia and Latoya were there last week and I don't think their fans will keep them there again. And it seems like everyone loved Diana last night! But someone's gotta be in the bottom 3. I honestly have no idea who it could possibly be.

I think it's not Fantasia's singing and performances that a lot of people don't like, I think it's Fantasia her self that most people don't like. Myself included. She can sing, but she's too over confident and cocky. She seems to try to rule the stage, the judges, and the audience etc. (i.e. the props to Jennifer in the middle of her competition performance) and the other things she has done that we have all read about on this thread. All of those were attempts to become more popular by drawing more attention to herself, instead of humbly performing like the others. It's the wrong kind of attention IMO. The one and only time I ever liked her and felt she was humble, was during and after her performance of Summertime on the movie theme AI show. I love that song and she did it justice. I still don't vote for her because she has too much cockiness with her and she irks me. If she had a personality like George Huff combined with the classy style of Latoya, and with her talent - she would be a sure winner. Too bad for her she doesn't.

I can't stand either. Her voice drives me crazy, it's so screechy and annoying. A lot of people compare her to Macy Gray(who I like) but she's just a second rate copy in my opinion.

The local morning show was rippin' on Diana's dress today too. I didn't see anything wrong with it. I thought it fit the song and style of the music just right. And it was nice to see a 16 year old dressing like a 16 year old instead of trying to show off tons of flesh (Jasmine also does this really well).

I didn't think the dress was bad, it was the fit that was bad. It was way too snug around the middle and seemed to exaggerate that area, it made her appear heavy even though she's not.

My DH and I agree. It was the dress, it was the fit. It made her stomach look large! It looked like there was extra padding in the stomach area!

My sister thinks Diana has gained quite a bit of weight since the show bagan. I never thought that but in that dress, she looked pregnant!

frankly, this session of Idol sucks and they had better get talented individuals through the audition round next session or it will go out with a whimper.

I couldn't agree with you more. What is really sad is that after the first show the Three Stooges kept commenting on how this was the best group of 12 ever. Please! As for Donald - go home girl.

As for donald helium girl going home - Don't think that is going to happen. There were too many cries of racism and bad voting when Jennifer got the boot last week. The producers don't want to escalate that by booting off another african american. I think because of that, even John's huge fanbase isn't going to save him this week.

Besides, the poor boy really does deserve to go home.

Boss, I hope you're right and she goes. I personally can't stand her voice and her attitude.

Actually if you've read through the 19E contract that they all sign, the producers have a right to say anything and do anything they want with the contestants, whether positive or negative. So I wouldn't be surprised, if they had "input" into the voting.

I guess they certainly 'could fix it' but I hope that isn't the case. I believe if they tried to do that, eventually the word would get out and the show would be a joke.
