How long does it typically take to hear back after making an offer? I made an offer on Saturday but haven't heard anything, yet. I've also left a vm and sent an email to the broker this morning. Any feedback would be much appreciated!

Always set a time limit on your offers. I heard back within 90 minutes on most of mine. One took two days.

At this point, call your broker and say, "I'm going have to withdraw my offer and move on to my next-best option if I don't hear back by XX:XX today."

It depends which company you are working with. There are some who do not work weekends, holidays or evenings so you will get a slower response. But in future you may want to add deadlines to everything.

Does your broker work on the weekend? Most do but I remember reading about one that does not. If they were closed over the weekend then your offer likely wasn't presented until this morning.

Did you offer asking price or close to asking price? If not, the seller may be opting to wait a few days to see if better offers come in before countering your offer.

I worked with TSS. I put in an email offer in the morning and received a call to confirm my offer by early afternoon. This was on a Saturday. The sellers must have responded back quickly so we received an email later that same day stating the offer was accepted. I would say there could be a hold up if the sellers are debating on accepting your offer or not. I would push to tell them you want a decision unless there is something where they provide the sell with x timeframe to get back with an answer.

Thanks for all of the replies!

This broker does work weekends. According to their website, they are open 7 days a week. It's also one that's often mentioned on the DIS. I did not offer the asking price but not far from it. I'm just wondering why they wouldn't just counter it if they wanted a higher price and why I can't get any kind of update from the broker? I guess I'll just give them a deadline and move on if nothing happens.

First time I made an offer about 4:30pm an heard back the next morning. With the second contract I heard back in less than an hour.

It's possible that the seller can't be reached. Maybe on vacation or they only check email once a week.
