High school Spanish has helped me not one bit. We have roofers at our house, and I needed to ask them to move our couch and a chair into the dumpster. I barely could understand...and I could barely tell them. "Necssitamos movar las muebles en la basura. Shaun dice estar OK." Dude, I know that's horrible Spanish grammar. And I got an A+ in both Spanish I and Spanish II. Over 100% in those classes!!

It makes me sad. :(

Arg the Depends won't die!!

Pixie still has yet to see the "new fit" Depends commercial though, complete with gratuitous old lady butt shot.

Guess I should have told you guys that the Nappy game was about napping, and not DIAPERS!! LOL
Shorts, that gave me a mental picture I did NOT need to see. :earseek:

So today was one of the best days ever!

I started back to work...three days of inservice and then the kiddies come. Work is fun because as I said before I work with my two best friends. We tried to be good all day! :)

I was told I looked beautiful, cute, great, and well rested...I think anyone who has a 8 week vacation would look good as well! LOL!

I was nominated to be our district team leader meaning I would plan the agenda and run the meetings all year for our grade level.

And I found a book at the library that had been reported on my card as missing. Did not having to pay for the book that was already there!

Woot woot!

That's great! Don't you just love days like that! :cheer2:

I spent quite a while looking online to see if Depends puts their commercials online, so I could see this "old lady butt shot" Shorts has been talking about. Not that I'm into that sort of thing, but Mondays require a laugh like that don't they? The only thing I found was this: a spoof done by some people who seem to spend a lot of time making movies. ;) Oh well, I might as well watch the "Oops, I Crapped in my Pants" commerical again. It's much better than theirs...

Y Bubbasfriend? Quieres hablar conmigo en español? Necessito practicar...mis amigos no quieren hablar comigo.

¡LOL! :teeth:

Okay, here a totally random occurence from over the weekend. So, we went down to Savannah to look at the town and some neighborhoods for our potential move (we decided to do it) and went out on one of my mom and step-dad's boats. They had just gotten the boat worked on by the mechanic at the marina, so we set out for a one hour tour around Wassau Sound. We're cruising along when we see some people all camped out on the beach of a little island. We drop anchor like everyone else and prepare to swim over. The depth finder said we were in about 50 feet of water, so we lower the ladder and my mom splashes down into KNEE DEEP water! :confused3 Turns out the mechanic hadn't actually set up the depth finder like he had said he had done  No big deal, but in less than ten minutes the tide had gone out and the boat was beached.....We were stranded on a deserted island (other than a few other boaters) for 6 hours while we waited for the tide to come back in. We all got as baked as you can get (other than my son who I had the good sense to slather up in sunscreen every 20 minutes.) We had on SPF 30, but the salt water just kills the effectiveness. So, the tide comes back in and we are cheering like crazy people :cheer2: We are all pushing the boat back into the water and climb on ready for a big dinner....we had tons of drinks, but since we had planned a one hour trip, we hadn't taken food. (Good thing we all ate a huge late breakfast before we went out) So we're all in the boat, and the motor won't turn over :earseek: At this point it is almost 7:00 at night and we're getting really irritated. It's a brand new motor, the boat had just been worked on and we were told it runs like a dream....more like a nightmare! We're all singing the theme song to Gilligan's Island at this point. We put in a call to the Coast Guard only to be told that they don't really rescue people anymore, they are too short staffed :confused3 (I would have taken David Hasselhoff from BayWatch at this point). They called us a tow boat and we finally got back to land around 10:30. Grabbed some sandwiches and we wound up staying an extra night. I had to call work and say "Sorry, I'm not going to be there because we got stuck on a deserted island..." My boss started to give me trouble, and I am sure I will really here it when I give notice today. Oh well.....so how was everyone else's weekend?!

Um...I worked? LOL :rotfl:
Obviously whatever adventure I might have embarked on during the weekend, it was NOTHING compared to the boating story! I must admit, I had visions ala Lord Of The Flies with you all having those drinks and no food...and going crazy from being marooned! It would have been a matter of time that you all would be hunting for a wild boar and using Piggy's glasses to start a fire...but I digress.
Glad you all are ok and made it back safe from your trip. So what did you bring me?? :wave2: "My Friend Went To Savannah And All She Brought Back Was This Lousy T-shirt" ??? LOL

I know you spelled it out further on down, but I have to admit, the moment I saw...

... I admit I immediately started humming "Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale, a tale of a fateful trip."

:earseek: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Wow! What a day!

Did I mention that we were also stranded with a video camera? My mom has the video and it is supposed to be pretty funnny. I think I would laugh at it, at least now, if laughing didn't hurt so bad. :rotfl:

Well, I bought two pairs of shoes at Etienne Aigner, a bunch of shirts at the GAP, two skirts....oh wait, that was all for me :earboy2:

I picked up a ton of shells from the beach....it was like being a kid all over again. Finding shells, making sand castles, drawing in the sand.....It was a lot of fun in a weird sort of way LOL

Let's sing a song

everybody's got a laughing place a laughing place to go-ho-ho

it's a small world after all

grim grinning ghosts come out to socialise

Thanks Churro! I tried the Dole Whip recipe you sent to me. Not willing to risk my own health, I decided to feed them to the guinea pigs (aka DD'#1 and DD#2). After a first taste, we have DD#1. I think she liked it:
dolewhip.jpg

It was a big day for DD#2. Not only did she learn to walk today, she also had her first EVER ice cream, thanks to Churro! Pictures did not come out, but she did keep opening her mouth for more.

In case anyone was looking for the recipe, I hope Churro doesn't mind if I share, here's the Dole Whip recipe (tastes just like the real thing!):
Hey I have your recipe for the pineapple ice cream everyone loves at Disneyland aka Dole Whip!

1 quart of pinapple juice(Dole of course)
1tsp Vanilla
3C whipping cream (liquid)
3C Sugar

milk also

mix the pinapple juice and sugar together making sure the sugar is dissolved.Next add the vanilla and cream.Pour this mixture into the ice cream container.Add milk to finish filling to the fill line (2 quarts). (hope that makes sense) Then just finish as you would normally following ice cream maker instructions. You can eat right away or freeze for a firmer ice cream.

Hope everyone enjoys it! I like it. It is one of the number one sellers at DLR.Right by the Tiki Room. Let me know if it is not clear enough.

Churro

Be, is your DD sick...she looks so pale in that picture! Nothing like her green self! :earboy2:

Dole Whips...omg. And a recipe for it so I can savor the Dole Whip goodness at home? Churro you are my new best friend!

Is there anything better in Disneyland than eating a Dole Whip and watching the Tiki Room? I don't think so...nothing can compare to the magic! (I just wish the Dole Whips at Disneyland were the price they were in Hawaii. I miss being able to drive up to the Dole Plantation and using coupons to get 2-for-1 deals on Dole Whips!)

Oh, that's just from locking her in the basement for a few weeks. Nothing a little bit of watering and fertilizer won't cure!

You guys are so welcome!!!! I am glad everyone enjoyed it Be!! Your DD is absolutely beautiful! princess: If I knew you were going to post it though I would have cleaned up my typing. Oh well I made some also and everyone loves it.
So who wants to hear about my weekend?...No one? Oh well you have to hear about it anyways! Friday my DH wakes up and has to work and finds that his wetsuits were all missing!(3 of them) Now for those of you who don't know that is about a thousand dollars worth or more. He was so upset it ruined his whole day. He did call the police and they sent him an incident report to his work. He notified all the surf and scuba shops in town and was going to call any pawn shops on monday. My DD 2nd birthday was also that day and we had a huge pool party and everything went really well. Sunday went by without any news on the suits.Monday was a different story...My best friends' father called my husband Monday morning and said he overheard someone in the alley behind his house trying to sell some wetsuits!!It's a Small World! So my DH jumps in his truck and drives there and my friends dad shows him the house the guy went into.So my DH knocks on the door and says"I hear you have some wetsuits for sale"the guy tells him yes and they go down the street to look at them. Sure enough they are his!! So he says he will be back with the money in an hour...but the guy says"You look honest , you can take them now and just bring back the money later" LOL ya right. So my DH takes the suits drives one block and calls the police. They show up and he tells them where they can find the house and gives the description of the guy. They say that there has been a string of robberies in the neighborhood and will definetly check this guy and his house out. WOOT! Crime doesn't pay and now my DH can go surfing again.
Just thought I would share this story with you, cause it had a happy ending! :cheer2:

What a great story Churro! I'm so glad everything worked out!

Anyways, I'd like to share with you my new favorite thing to do. I've found great pleasure in turning up our 5.1 sound system on the computer to full volume, putting in some Shostakovich/Maher/Beethoven/other loud composers...and pushing play and feeling myself get pushed back 10 feet at the first fortissimo of the piece. Boy it feels great getting back at the neighbors who play rap music at crazily high volumes at all hours of the day!

cool

i went to see charlie and the chocolate factory today :)

it was different to the last one

very very different
