Oh, I am right there with you Mike!! Snow - such a BAD word!! Here in NH, I am basically miserable from September through May. It makes me want to cry to see the leaves turning color because I know what's coming next (brrrr). I asked Santa this year for a house in Florida - we'll see if I get it :) :) :)

I am SO with you on that one. Ugh, cant stand the snow. So much in fact that my family has nicknamed me Heatmizer lol. I'm bascially miserable from decemeber to may, but hey i can admit it lol.

What did i ask santa for this year? same as every year, a TAN! lol. I'd much rather be stringing lights in the palm trees and singing silent night with my toes in the sand, but hey thats just me. ;)

Oh, I'm not a fan of snow either, unless I'm driving TO it to SKI on (not that I can really ski).

But perhaps these pictures will soften the blow a bit: http://www.its.caltech.edu/~atomic/snowcrystals/photos/photos.htm

Be sure to click on some of the thumbnails. WOW!

WoW :earseek:
They really are beautiful Joe.
BUT, I don't know if it makes me any happier when I'm shoveling the stuff, LOL.
(PS You can all come and visit me if you want cold...it is -31 Fahrenheit here today :cold: )

Of course my brother and I would always make a bunch of snowballs, dip them in a bucket of cold water, and then let them sit outside for about an hour, before taking them in buckets to my friends field for the snowball fight. Hey, everybody plays dirty when its a snowball fight.

OUCH!

We hardly ever get snow here, so since you guys just hate it so send some down South we will take it!

Okay, okay. Now. I have told everyone I know, that will listen, that I love snow and ice, and enjoy both playing and driving in it! (crazy but true)

So, where the heck is the snow? Yes we have a few inches. But like Bubbasfriend, hey, you were going to send some my way too!! Where is it?

Brain, my friend, will you share some as you get yours?

Anyone else feels like sending some my way, woot! Ready and waiting! :Pinkbounc

Look outside! There is a package waiting for you!

On a side note, I seemed to have accidently sent my brain to someone via FedEx, as well! I can't seem to get my thoughts pulled together to finish this one last research paper tonight! (And yes it is due tomorrow and yes I am procrastinating and yes I will get it done!) ARGH! No more research papers! (Too bad I still have many more to come before my Masters is done...)

Oh look A box! And A cow?!? Weird... A note "there are bottles in box, free milk for year!" Wha?.....huh he wha? I thought.... Geeez!

On Monday night I went food shopping with my Fiance. He gave me the car keys as he was going to put the trolley back. Well this was a big mistake as his key had a crack in it and when I put it in the lock the end snapped off. All the food was locked in the back and his spare car keys were at his Mum's house approx 2 hours away. So after many phone calls we got picked up and taken home so that I could get my car and then started driving towards David's Mum's house whilst his Dad drove towards us so that we could meet in the middle. All's going well until the road we needed to go down was closed. After a detour we finally met up with his Dad and retrieved the key. On the way home we encountered more road works :earseek:
We finally get David's car and get back home for 11.30pm. Luckily we didn't have any frozen food so all was not lost but boy what a day.
We can now laugh about it but we certainly were not laughing when it happened.
So girls be warned, if you man hand you his car keys smile and say no thank you and then you will not get the blame for breaking anything :Pinkbounc

OK, in honor of all the Canadians here (I'm not one of them, not tough enough), and to mock all those here complaining of the cold, here's an old chestnut dug out of the internet:

50°F - New Yorkers try to turn on the heat. Canadians plant gardens.

40°F - Californians shiver uncontrollably. Canadians sunbathe.

35°F - Italian cars won't start. Canadians drive with the windows down.

32°F - Distilled water freezes. Canadian water gets thicker.

20°F - Floridians wear coats, gloves & wool hats. Canadians throw on a t-shirt.

15°F - Californians begin to evacuate the state. Canadians go swimming.

0°F - New York landlords finally turn up the heat. Canadians have the last cook-out before it gets cold.

-10°F - People in Miami cease to exist. Canadians lick flag poles to see if their tongue will stick.

-20°F - Californians fly away to Mexico. Canadians throw on a light jacket.

-40°F - Hollywood disintegrates. Canadians rent some videos.

-60°F - Mt. St. Helens freezes. Canadian Girl Guides begin selling cookies door to door.

-80°F - Polar bears begin to evacuate Antarctica. Canadian Boy Scouts postpone "Winter Survival" classes until it gets cold enough.

-100°F - Santa Claus abandons the North Pole. Canadians pull down their ear flaps.

-173°F - Ethyl alcohol freezes. Canadians get frustrated when they can't thaw the keg.

-297°F - Microbial life survives on dairy products. Canadian cows complain of farmers with cold hands.

-460°F - ALL atomic motion stops. Canadians start saying "Cold 'nuff for ya?"

-500°F - Hell freezes over. The Toronto Maple Leafs win the Stanley Cup.

Definitely a different attitude towards the cold here. We just shrug and put up with it. :cold: :wave2: :cold: (the Canadian is the one in the middle)

You get a snow day for THREE inches of snow?

"Why, sonny, when I was a kid, we had to slog uphill, both ways, through snow so deep you had to climb up your chimney to get out of your house, and the sled dogs couldn't handle the snow, so you pulled them instead, and... blah blah blah."

I live in the middle of nowhere.Greenville,MO.

Never heard of it,didn't think so.

We get out for close to nothing! :cool1:

Be, your post made me LOL because I heard the same thing from my parents when I was little. Funny thing is, when I tell my kids I had to walk up hill in the snow Im telling the truth. I lived in a small community and there were no busses so we never had delays or snow days. We literally walked to school in inches of snow...and to get to school I really did walk up hill. LOL A HUGE STEEP hill! 3-7 predicted for here overnight. Argggggg...I really really hate snow. Anyone want any? I would be happy to share with you. :cold:

Good morning all!
