Bookwormde: that would be cool if I could, but I know that that is just way too big of a commitment right now. I am a full time master's student and also waitress 4 days a week. I start summer session for my grad classes this week (8am-4pm) and the following week I start teaching summer school! It'll be my first full day in the classroom teaching experience, until now I have just observed and taught one or two lessons a semester. I will be teaching 6th grade communications arts, I'm slightly nervous and very excited!
In the fall I start the Professional Development School for Special Ed. I will be teaching half days, taking classes the other half of the day, plus working four days a week. I will have over 400 hours in the schools next semester, and this isn't even my student teaching! That's in the spring.
I know that as much as I would like to start a chapter, I have neither the time nor the proper experience.

I've e-mailed the chapter I'm assuming covers us and am hoping that if they can point me in the right direction. If there is not a chapter, perhaps once I get my master's I might be able to do something, but that's providing I stay in this area.
LauraVV: I've heard of an organization that does young adults, I'll see what I can dig up. You might also try MAW. I read about a family that had their wish granted when the "kid" was 21 and were even allowed to stay at GKTW. Their TR is somewhere on this board. (Anybody know the one I'm talking about?) I didn't read the whole thing, but they indicated that although there was a bit of hassle given their daughter's age, they were able to make it work.
