Off to Neverland...A BOGO Trip Report! PG 44 ~ It's over

Oh hunny, my heart is just aching for you:hug: You take all the time you need to do what needs to be done. But know that we're here for you in whatever ways we can help. Hang in there.

:sad1: I'm very sorry. I understand all too well what you are going through. Just take one day at a time. We will be here for you when you need to escape 'real life'. :grouphug:

All my best,
Michelle

Thanks so much for another update! What a crazy monorail ordeal. We loved CP for dinner as well.

I'm also sorry to hear about your mom/aunt. My daughter goes to the Mayo every six weeks for a treatment. It's a fantastic facility. I know your mom will get the best care possible there. Hang in there!

Jen you know we're all here for you any time you want to talk you know you can PM me, we went through something similar last year with my 59 year old Step Mum so I know how you're feeling.

Sending lots of love

Hugs & best wishes to you & your family. :grouphug: Mayo is definately the place to be. I know you're in MN, but are you near Mayo? Here's hoping you don't have to commute too much, on top of everything else. :flower3:

I am truly sorry to hear about your mom, if there is anything we can do please ask, if its a shoulder to cry on, or someone to scream at to get your frustration out, we are all here for you and yours.

I'm also thinking of you, Jen! This is one of those times in life that you find out just how strong you really are - and you ARE!!!

As everyone else said - when you need that escape and support, we're here. And she'll get the best care in the world at Mayo.

Jenn.

Jen...

My thoughts and prayers are with you. I know I speak for all of us when I say come and visit us here when you need to take a load off. Take your time at whatever you must accomplish right now.

My thoughts are prayers are with you and your family... to have the strength to get through this difficult time. I heard the Mayo clinic is a fantastic facility. Hang in there.

my thoughts are with you too. Stay positive, a friend of mine had spine tumors and found out it started in her breast. she is doing great right now with treatments. Good luck to you and thanks for writing!

My prayers are with your Mom.

I certainly feel your pain. My Mom is not a healthy woman, she has many medical issues, so I can definiely relate to what you are going through.

Please keep us up to date.

Oh, Jen. I am so sorry. Mayo will help if anyone can, and I know you will be strong enough to do what you have to do. Just remember that a lot of DIS friends will be sending good thoughts and prayers your way, and hoping for good news. Take care of yourself, too. :grouphug:

Oh goodness... You are all so incredibly wonderful! I have poked in and read and re-read your comments & PM's during the down times over the last few days. Let me tell you they really have put a wonderful feeling in me... just when I really needed it.

I wanted to share what we know so far.

She has 2 tumors in her spine, both are very close to touching her spinal cord. There is a spot on her liver and some 'oddities' in her lungs (which is where they think it came from). The doctors believe that she has had this cancer for a long time and it is now stage IV (the final stage). She started her first batch of Radiation today. We found out that Radition leaves a tatoo like mark where it enters, so she now has 4 tatoo's. :) We will meet with the Oncologist on Thursday to get a final cancer plan and prognosis, but have been told that what ever treatments she does, will just prolong her life and not cure the cancer.

We know we are briging her to the best place possible. Even the President of Iraq is there now.

We do not live close to the Mayo (it is in Rochester, MN) but we have driven there every day and will continue for 2 weeks of radiation. It is about a 2 hour drive, which has turned into great family time. Boy who would have thought that sitting in a car for 2 hours would be great family time.:confused3

I think the shock is over. I am coming to deal with it...what ever that means.

I do plan to try to DIS a bit. It really helps get my mind off of things. I also started to SUDUKO. While we wait for her to finish MRI's and other tests, the whole family does them...it is rather cute.

My appologies for rambling. It just feels good.

Thank you so much for all of your support.

Glad that we all helped and watch out Suduko is incredibly addictive! It's great that at a time like this you can all bond even more, it's strange what good things can come out of something so horrible!

Ramble away! Really - sometimes the best therapy is to just talk about the situation and release all the stuff jumbling around in your mind. We're here for you! :grouphug:

Glad you checked in. You are right, the Mayo is awesome. We are there lots. Let me know if you'd like any hotel recommendations, places to eat, etc. Still sending lots of positive thoughts to your mom!

You know we are thinking of you, right? If you need anything, let us know. Mayo is an awesome place and they are doing amazing things right now with cancer - so you never know. (I grew up not far from Mayo Clinic and that was "the place" to go.)

You never ramble - we could listen to you anytime :goodvibes
