Off to Neverland...A BOGO Trip Report! PG 44 ~ It's over

Oh no! Princess puddle! Hehehe... that's a VERY familiar sight.... well minus the gown :lmao:

I hope you had the BEST Mother's day ever :flower3:

The TS credit thing is a real mystery and Tink is so cute even on the floor :rotfl2:

As sad as I was, I still got myself up and out the door before everyone. I left my kiddo’s in DH’s care while I did some investigating into our TS credits with the concierge. The concierge explained that she needed to print different receipts of our transactions, one showing all charges to our room, the other showing TS credits. When she printed the charges to our room, we found that the waiter from the night before did charge us $30 for our dinner. This charge matched the receipt I signed for the glow cubes & adult bevies, which we consumed. When she printed the TS credit transactions, we found that the waiter did charge us the TS credits, but minutes later he refunded them. The concierge told me to make another ADR for an additional restaurant. :confused3 WHAT?!? She was telling me use an extra TS, than I paid for? I told her that I was really not comfortable doing this. She assured me that there must have been some kind of reason that the waiter did this.

She asked if I received a YOAMD certificate while dining?
NO.

Did we have poor service?
NO.

Was our meal not to par?
NO.

She then told me she would call over there, if it made me feel better. But encouraged me to leave it alone and take it as an extra.

So there I stood…with the look of surprise as I had devil princessjv on one shoulder telling me…do it, do it. Then on the other shoulder sat the princess version of princessjv with the sweet voice, saying don’t you dare use it.
DO IT, DO IT!!! I look at it this way: how often does Disney mess up in wyas that are NOT good to guests? If they somehow manage to mess up once in a while in ways that benefit a guest, it’s just evening things out. See? V’s Fuzzy Disney Logic!:rotfl:

Okay...I just read your ENTIRE TR in one night...it has taken me 2 hours...but once I started, I couldn't stop!

Your kids are beautiful!

Your section on the reason you do what you do as a mommy made my heart break...and made me cry! You are a great mommy!

I think that for my disney trip, I need to take DS off on his own for a bit!

I'm waiting for more...you left me wonderin' what happens after the "fit" on the floor...

I wanted to thank you for the head's up on the Main Street Bankery CS credits!!! What a deal!!! :thumbsup2
Ya! You ate there? No? Yes? I guess so...I am sure I will be reading about it in your awesome TR! Glad you checked this steal of a deal out...it is a great one!

This was our only knock down Tink on the ground incident of the trip...thank goodness!

I had a great Mom's day, I was taken to brunch, waited on around the house, my dh washed my hardwood floors (I hate it), I DIS'd and dis'd some more, My DH even made dessert and a salad for our family dinner that night...I didn't even have to clean a single thing all day! YAAA!:cool1:

I do see your point.;) I will tell what happens...later baby!:rotfl: Love you fuzzy wuzzy math...love it!

Welcome and thanks for taking 2 hours out of your day...for me! I am very glad you enjoyed the read thus far. It really means a lot that you took the time to both read AND respond!

Do take you DS off for a bit of Mom time...it is really worth a million. I'm sorry I made you cry...I think. Sometimes a good cry is great for our hearts, minds and souls...but sometimes it sets us up for an emotional day. Hope it was the first, not the second. Thanks again! :)

I have a problem...

Remember my trip planned for Oct. with just my DS & I??? Well, I planned it for Oct. because he will have a week off of school (fall break/teacher workshops) and we were planning on having him enrolled in a new Spanish Immersion Program in our school district. Since the SI program is intense, I didn't want him to miss any days of school. Well, I got a bad call yesterday...they did't get enough applicants for the SI Program! So now we are back to regular Full Day Kindergarten, which I am not too worried about taking him out of school from.

Do I keep Oct.? We went in Oct. 2 years ago and I wasn't thrilled with the constant rain and 90-100 degree days and 100% humidity...everyday! :scared: But TGM suggests this will be a low crowd week. I guess besides the MN families who all flock there... I already have my plan mostly worked out and a few adr's & the pirate cruise. Also this will be during my ds b-day, so he could celebrate it there...with me. But I will be hot...I hate wet/hot and all hot!

OR Do I move it to the 1st or second week of Nov., when it is cooler? BUT the first week of Nov. is Jersey week, followed by Super Soap Weekend.

We have never been in Nov. So I am not too familar with crowd levels. help...what would you do?:confused3

If TGM says it's a low crowd week, I would keep it. Just think, it isn't nearly as hot in Oct as it is in July/August, and look at the people that go then!! :cool2: Seriously, I think you will be fine, and if you have things kind of planned to allow for warm weather you can cool off in the middle of the day and enjoy the rest of the time. The way the crowds are going there won't be any such thing as a low crowd time soon! :confused3

I agree - keep October. If TMG says low crowds, you should be ok.

Take afternoon breaks to hit the pool.

And, mostly, there is NOTHING like celebrating your birthday in the Happiest Place on Earth!

PittypatBR & tiggerbell-

I am sure you are right... It would just make more changes for me...who wants more changes? My DS would love to spend his b-day there again...what kid wouldn't, right? He spent his 4 th b-day there and the next fall we will be bringing him & Tink there to celebrate her 4th b-day...so then we can see the all of the Christmas hooptydo.

Thanks for keeping me on track, ladies...

I am working on editing all my pic's for my next installement!

Can't wait to hear about the extra TS credits!

I vote for going during MEA in October. We're going in November this year and did last year, which was awesome. But next time I want to go in October during MEA so the kiddos don't have to miss as much school. That's important I think. :)

You will be fine in October. Plus . . . you will get to go to the MNSSHP!!!!!!!!!!! It will be the highlight of your trip - seriously! Our October was a variety of weather - hot, cool but no rain. I can't imagine spending your bday anywhere else too.

We gotta get together soon!

Short. Yet again, I apologized…this time to the little boy and the mom. Nicely explaining that my little, cute sweet little girl that I always dreamed of having…was…well, trouble.:sad2:

I have enjoyed your trip report completely and can't wait for more. I am preparing for our first family trip to WDW in Sept with my ds 5 and dd 2. My dd 2 is another little Tink! The picture of her laying on the floor at MS is not uncommon in our house. Plus, she loves to pull a chair up to the kitchen counter and go exploring. This quote is something I think at least once a week. I really love seeing what Tink does while Lil Diz rides. That is something we will have to deal with a lot also. I'm glad to know there is a play area in MS.

Oh NO! Another Tink! I am sending you my thoughts... and prayers...you need them, I know! You have got to love her...she, I am sure is cute as a button...they don't make Tink's any other way! Thanks for taking time to post! Your Kiddo's are the exact same age as mine...very fun! I bet you are super excited for your trip in Sept. It is getting close!

I know, I know...we didn't do MNSSHP last time, so I already have what day is best for us to do it, while we are there. You know how much I hate HOT though... Say Hi to the family! Lil'l Diz forsure wants your ds to come over and play soon!

You vote for Oct. But you are going in NOV...trader...;) Are you going in the beginning or the end of Nov? The weather is much better then...plus no missing our beautiful fall...lucky! I do agree, as the years go we for sure can't miss school, but K should be ok...but I probably will keep it in Oct. :)

I scrapped Tink up off the floor and loaded her into the double wide. Next stop was dining with her favorite ladies. Bell Bell, as she refers to all Princesses’. Lil’ Diz Man could have cared less, about where we were going. :confused3 The only thing he had on his mind was rides, rides and more rides. But he was a good sport, as far as big brothers go; he has learned to go with the flow on certain things. Things like pretending he is going to take a nap, so I can get Tink to, or giving Tink a bite of his Banana or apple, just so she doesn’t pitch a fit. Hanging out with some pretty ladies, while we attempt to eat lunch and Tink yells and points at Bell Bell is just another one of his brotherly duties.

Long Drawn Out BOGO ALERT Below

We arrived promptly at Askerhaus for our Lunch ADR. The Norwegian hosts were ready to take us in immediately, but first they had to announce us. This gesture is grand, more grand for older children I presume. But for Tink…she doesn’t know her last name, so she could have cared less that they botched our name.

We ate here in 2005 for dinner. At the time our Lil’l Diz man was going through a Princess Love thing…he was turning 4. The food…well the food left us feeling…still hungry. Not because there portion sizes aren’t of American Super Size proportion? It was mostly because the meatloaf concoction I ordered was like warm, wet cat food and the Ribs my DH got were ¾ fat, 1/8 sauce & 1/8 meat. :scared: I do have to say that we chalked the poor Ribs to a poor cut of meat…we will leave it at that and hope that was the answer. The meatloaf thingy…I have no excuse for…sorry.

So why’d we come back? Simple! The chance to meet many Princesses’ in a short amount of time is well worth the promise to find something different on the menu that will not make us yak. I remember back to Economics 101. My first college class with 500+ students, all but 2 slept each day…I was not one of them. Supply and Demand, the Supply of such princess’s is far out weighed by the demand of the little girls (and boys) who want a picture with them…just one…a touch, a smile, a hello, a hug. Anything, just to be within 1 foot of a beautiful princess! :cloud9:

When we were here in 2005 for dinner we were not blessed with the opportunity to have a personal meeting with a princess as we entered. In our case Princess Aurora…aka…Sleeping Beauty…aka Bell Bell (to Tink) greeted upon our entrance. Being that Tink, was dressed as Princess Aurora this day, all was great in the land of mommy photo opts…at least that was what I had hoped…

As Tink entered, she was not too sure how to proceed…should she go up to Bell Bell, should she hold on to mom, should she hold her Lil’l Diz’s hand and walk slowly to greet the Bell Bell? With a few nudges, a couple pokes and finally a bit of a mommy shove (gentle like) we got her to her destination. And as an added bonus for a few kicks and giggles Lil’l Diz joined the fun for a bit, so Mr. Photo Pass Man & I could attempt a few shots of my darlings. Wouldn’t you know it that as soon as I started snapping, my battery went dead…Of all times…just when I needed it most. To make matters worst, I didn’t have an extra battery for it yet…so I had to rely on Mr. Photo Pass to capture the best of the best…or at least I had hoped he did.

Tink giving the 'cold shoulder'

Once Tink was in place and all warmed up to Princess Aurora (Bell Bell), leaving her (Bell Bell) was just about the last thing that she wanted to do. We basically had to pry her away from Aurora, while she chanted, “Bell Bell, Bell Bell, Bell Bell.” We promised her more Bell Bell’s to come, so finally little miss BSqueaky Shoes, squeaked her way over to our table.

What happened next was a pure mixture of Tink’s excitement of seeing all of the Bell Bell’s (princess’) and Tink’s alter ego Ms. Priss coming for a visit. Every Princess who visited was warmly, or not so warmly greeted by our little darling with either a POUT and cold shoulder, or excitement. Not the ‘Welcome’ to my table, ‘thanks’ for coming over to visit me kind of excitement…this excitement was to tell the NEW Bell Bell (princess) that there are other Bell Bell’s there. She would simply start chanting Bell Bell to the Princess’ and point her little finger over to the Bell Bell who had just left our table, attempting to explain that she just saw a Bell Bell. It was cute, yes…But hard on me to get any pictures (with my little purse camera).

Pictures can tell the story:

Lunch was…Better than the last time we ate there. Again the character interaction was hands down, great! We were even awarded with the appearance of Cinderella. This was a highlight, since to this point she hadn’t been a regular Bell Bell assigned there. Once we were seated, our CM Waiter alerted us that she might be there, since she had been frequenting the joint.

Food = B
To start your meal, you get to take a visit to the Salad Bar, which has your traditional lettuce salad, cold salads, fruit, meat & cheeses, in addition to several styles of herrings. Both times we have visited, they have brought out our meals, even before we have taken turns getting our food from the Salad Bar. My recommendation would be to place your order after you have gotten your salad course.

Dh ordered the Pan-Seared Trout, with stewed red cabbage, apples, bacon and garnished with a roasted onion and beet jam

I ordered the Slow-Cooked Meatballs served with lingonberry demi
And I swapped the rutabaga mash for potato mash.

My meal reminded me of Swedish Meatballs, which I love and my DH said his Trout was good, but not seasoned greatly.

Our Kiddo’s shared a kid’s pizza and our Tink ate a bit of each thing we took from the Salad Bar (she is a great eater).

Dessert there is a favorite of mine. You get a large plate delivered to your table with:
My personal favorite**Rice Cream topped w/ fresh Strawberries and Sauce, Chocolate Mousse on a chocolate waffle cookie & A Lingonberry Tart.

During our meal we were presented with a present. A present, which can be purchased for the low, low cost $31.90. :scared1: This gift is a collection of the photos that Mr. Photopass had taken. The best of HIS best. My Dh took one look at those pictures of his little Tink; all dressed up like Aurora, sitting next to Aurora and announce, “We’ll Take Them!” :cloud9:  There was no, “How much do they cost?” or “Honey, do you think you got as great of pictures as these?” Plain old simple, “We’ll Take Them!” So now were are the proud owners of an 8x10 and several 4x6 or our Tink & one of her Bell Bell’s and a few shots of out Lil’L Diz are in there too… We don't have a scanner, but I may try to take a picture of a few of those priceless pictures.

UP NEXT: POST 339, PG 23

Pjv! What a great installment! :thumbsup2 Thanks for the review of Akershaus. I think we will do it on our FG trip next year. :goodvibes

Those photos of the Tink and Lil Diz Man are adorable!!!:cutie:

I love the pics of Tink and her "ignoring" of the bell bells!

We were almost going to do akershus...but we're doing 1900 Park Fare instead...we'll see if the food's any better there!

We have been to 1900 park fare and loved it... I wish they had ALL of the princess', not just Cindy. But at least you get to see Cindy with her man...

BTW, their food was better...IMHO;)

I love this photo :rotfl2: We're going to Akershus too but for brekkie :thumbsup2

I think we will try that next time...I bet it is better!

Are your girls going to dress up?

Isn't it a bummer that every picture I have has Lil'l Diz with a shiner...It's bumming me out...

Next time no shiners!

They won't be dressing up, they'll be 9 and 11 by then and we like to hit the rides, also it's a surprise :rotfl2:

Don't worry about the black eye, it's something to remember when he's older, you'll never have to ask which trip those photos were from :rotfl:
