Just booked to go to Legoland this weekend. :cool1:

Travelling down Friday (am) and stopping in a Hilton hotel for 2 nights. Included in the package we have tickets for the park Friday/Saturday/Sunday so we'll travel back after tea on Sunday.

It's a long story but we're having an extension built which has taken sooooooooooo much longer than originally said. We've all been sleeping in a caravan for over 4 months! :scared1:

At the moment while the wooden floor is laid we can't even sit in the lounge as the sofas are piled high in the kitchen so last weekend my parents put us all up. However this weekend I decided we all needed a little treat. We were planning to go in September anyway so we've just brought it forward (who knows we might do both!)

Anyway - any tips/reviews. Please tell me this is going to better than being cooped up in a kitchen all day followed by a bed in a caravan!

Have no tips as we have never been. But just wanted to say i hope you get it all sorted soon+have a fantastic weekend at LegoLand.x.

We have been a couple of times and its really good my Ds 6 loves it:thumbsup2 The little ones can also ride a lego car and get presented with a driving licence, there is a log flume too never been on it though as it was so cold when we went, the new Viking ride is definitely worth going on you do get a little bit wet, theres plenty to do and Im sure you will enjoy it hope you have a great weekend and let us know all about it.:cool1: :cool1: :woohoo: :cool1: :cool1:

The only downside is the food its not to good.:worried:

I went last Sat as we have annual passes thanks to Tesco! The park wasn't too busy apart from the big rides which were posted as having a 40 min wait everthing else was a walk on or 5 min max, my only advice would be to take a push chair as there is alot of walking and also drinks they are very expensive in the parks, if you get a chance Windsor is really lovely to walk around in the early evening and there are some great restaurants opposite the castle even a Mc Donalds!

Haven't been for some years as youngest is now 14 and has outgrown it.
Legoland is built on a hill with the carpark at the top. There is a little train that goes up and down the hill but it is more fun (and can be quicker) to walk down (the steps incorporate lttle slides for the kids). See how you feel at the end of the day as the ride up is blissful when you're tired.

As for the attractions I think any theme park plan will tell you to get in early (the Dragon was always very popular when we went) you can then spend time in mini-land looking at the lego buildings later when things are busier.

We always used to eat early as they never seemed to have enough staff to cope efficiently.

I'm not sure if there's 3 days worth of entertainment there, but then again if you've never been you'll want to be sure that you've seen everything.

There used to be puppet shows (don't know if they still do these) which were very funny - check out the scedule for these.

I think there are a lot more rides now so someone who's been recently can tell you more.

we live 20 mins from legoland and have annual passes - so go alot when it is quiet...if it is busy then you may not get many rides done - my friend went on Sat and only managed to do 4 - they need fastpass!!!! so get there early and head for the new / popular rides first....I always find the longest q's are for the driving school and boating school - so maybe give them a miss...hope the weather is nice maybe take a picnic (however if staying in a hotel not sure that will work) are you staying at the Hilton in Bracknell - s'bury next door with starbucks for nice coffee!!

enjoy

No advice, sorry, apart from the fact that I've heard it is better to make your way to the furthest part of the park, by the Lego City and work back from there, as most people start from the top. And try to catch one of the Johnny Thunder shows, more or less on the hour, as these are good fun.

Have a great time.

Sara. :)

Take a towel in your backpack and have the little ones wear bathing suits in place of underwear. There are some nice fountain type things for the kids to get wet through in if it is a hot day.

The ice cream bars onsite used to be way better than magnums ;)

If you are taking in a lot, you can hire a good sized family locker just inside the maingate.

There is enough there for two 3/4 days. We loved it, even after the first Disney trip.

Upper age for full enjoyment is around 11 or 12 for a boy

Hope you all have a great time - sound like you deserve a break :goodvibes

its been a few years since Ive been to legoland,as my sons are too old now
hope you have a wonderful time:goodvibes

Thanks for all the tips and good wishes.

At the moment we always plan for extra time at places as we no longer have a pram (they're 4&5) so we always go at a steady (some would say slow) pace. Hopefully with going over a few days we should fit everything in.

I like the idea of heading over the the furthest point and working our way back. I think we'll do this on the Saturday. We'll have a steady mouch around Friday afternoon and maybe do the stuff that will have long queues on the Saturday and then Sunday we can catch whatever we've missed or want to go on again. Lets hope there's not a ride like IASW or we'll be on it 15 times!

Also like the sound of slides mixed with the steps down from the car park. I think we'll walk down and train back.

Can't wait now. :cool1:
