I might sound crazy, but has anyone had "doubts" about their scheduled port day in Disney?

We are on the Oct 22 NYC Sailing, with a stop and 1 day hopper ticket included! to Disney World...We have been to WDW 9 times, DCL 4. We have never been to either for Halloween, so we are excited. Through planning we have booked a 9am bus from PC to MK eventually hoping to HS for Star Wars Fireworks Desert Party.

Now, that we are so close to leaving, I just keep feeling like I am missing a WHOLE DAY on the boat! Second guessing decisions...anyone else ever experience this!?!

Good Heavens. We should all have such a decision in our lives! You have a wonderful day planned at WDW - go and enjoy the one-day Halloween festivities there and then get back to so much more of it on the ship. Just enjoy your good fortune.

This!

Plus I would be very surprised if they have much at all planned for the day while the ship is in port at Port Canaveral.

I think you will have a blast at WDW. And if I remember correctly that itinerary has quite a few sea days. Those are perfect for soaking up the ship atmosphere. I would not worry being away for the full day!

I think you made the right decision.... what a fun trip you have planned!

Well, I'm opposite of everyone else. I avoid that itinerary because I see no need to spend such a short amount of time at WDW. I'd rather be on the ship. I love WDW...was married at the Wilderness Lodge, honeymooned there, have been a DVC member for 11 years, but to me that one day is way too short. I have no interest in rushing off the ship, riding the bus back and forth, and trying to park hop, all with the added pressure of making the return ride home. I'd much rather just go back to WDW as its own trip at some other point in time. :D Too much stress in the middle of my relaxing cruise.

...but I hope you have a fantastic trip. Any Disney trip is better than being at home! :D

The fireworks dessert party sounds fun.

Since you're already cruised with DCL four times, what are you concerned about missing, especially with so many days at sea?

We're on that itinerary next year and from what I've read the ship is a ghost town, I don't think you'll miss much!

We normally don't park hop at WDW, but we're going to hit all 4 parks that day, 2 rides at each. We're planning on dinner on the ship.

You are not mandated to park hop it is just an option I am on the Oct 29 cruise with my sister and 3 cousins and we are spending the day at Food and Wine. We love the itinerary since we live in NY no airfare and get to go to food and wine.

Does anyone know how dinner works on WDW night? If you are first seating do you have to be back to the ship in time for dinner to eat in the MDR?

Yes, the dining does not change on the ship. If you want to have your dinner in the MDR, you need to be back on the ship at whatever time that is (early or late seating)

How do they get you back to the ship? Do they have buses running back and forth all day? Or to you have a scheduled pick up time?
