Off the boat, Day at WDW Remorse?

Wow, if you are given park hoppers, I would definitely go. What a great opportunity.

We were booked on this itinerary for last week but ended up getting re-routed to Canada. We had a great time and made the best of it. But, we really missed the WDW stop. We were looking forward to it a lot. I think a day at WDW can be so much fun. You're not planning out a whole week...just one day to do whatever you want. I think it's getting the best of both worlds.

It would be no more loss of a day than any other full day port stop... I think you can choose to stay on the boat too if you want. We are taking a the 8 day trip next year and I believe both itineraries have 4 days at sea so that is plenty of time on the ship for us but different strokes and all.

Serious question: what do you think you will be doing on the ship? You can expect that the ship will be mostly empty, which is good if you want to sit and chill, enjoy the pools, lounge, use the spa. But the other programming will be limited, trivia, animation classes etc. This is no different than other port days where onboard activities are often in lower demand so not as much is scheduled. If you want to spend some time on board, stay on board while everyone crams on to the bus and take a later bus to the parks to enjoy your dessert party. A little of both.

I'm another who enjoys time on the ship and for our upcoming Caribbean trip am not planning and Port Adventures at either port except possibly walking off the ship and looking at the port shops.

That being said, the opportunity for a day at WDW with Park Hoppers would have me leaving the ship early and making the most of an amazing day at WDW! We'd hit MK and possibly one other park. We've done a day once where we hit all 4 parks in one day and while it was fun to say we've done it once, we spent a lot of time moving between parks, going through security, getting into the parks and to the attractions. Not something I'd personally choose to do often and for us, not when we only have 1 day at the parks.

You'll have a great time whatever you choose to do! You're either at WDW or on a Disney ship! A win-win for sure!!!

We did the 4-park challenge for my birthday one year and had a blast. That being said, you're right -- once is enough.

What time do they leave the ship to take you to the park -- and how late can you stay there?

:offtopic: So THAT'S where the whole "Palo's" instead of just "Palo" came from. DCL used to do it in the Navigators!

Yes, I found it quite fascinating to look at the "old" navigator. Made me realize that it was only fairly recently that they went to the 6 page format with the four page outer part and the one sheet insert... I do like the insert, I just want the four pages around it, too.

Does anyone know how dinner works on WDW night? If you are first seating do you have to be back to the ship in time for dinner to eat in the MDR?

We did not go back to the ship for dinner. What we did was we pinpointed the date we were scheduled to be a WDW and made reservations at Ohana's. Worked out perfect. You would be cutting your day at the parks short if you want to go back to the ship for dinner.
