I have never been to US, but decided to split our trip this Sept. with WDW & US.
I checked out the on-site Hotels and can't quite afford them this trip. I have been checking on different sites to find a good deal...

I found DAYS INN ORLANDO UNIVERSAL MAINGATE for $59 per night. I hadn't seen this one on the "Universal Partner Hotels". On the discription it said "with in walking distance to entrance to US".

I was wondering if anyone knows anything about this and how far do they consider "walking distance"? :confused3

Since it will be only the two of us (adults) if we wanted to walk in the morning if the free shuttles doesn't go early enough for us...we like to get there early before the gates open...They also mentioned a "trolley" for a fee. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I feel comfortable with all the planning for WDW, since we have been there a couple of times, but US is all new to us.

Thanks for your help!

Walking distance is about 10 minutes to the parking garage, about a block. You have to cross Kirkman road. I've never stayed there, but it is close.
Days Inn would be considered a dive to most. The next budget hotel that is within walking distance and has free breakfast would be the Best Western Universal. I've stayed there and it's nice.

:) Thank you so much for the info. That is what I wanted to know. Since I have never been there I had no idea...and I don't want to stay in a dive. I want a good deal, but still want a nice place to stay!:wave2:
