off site hotel within walking distance?

Does anyone know or have a recommendation for an off site Universal Studios hotel that is within walking distance? Any info is appreciated. I would like to know the good, bad, and ugly as to what they have to offer. Thank you in advance!

I can't think of any that would be really close enough without having to cross a major street, but I can tell you that if you decide to stay on I-drive then the cab fare wouldn't be more than 11 dollars to get your whole family there.

The Double Tree is the closest, haven't stayed there, but the rate I found here

I have stayed at both the Holiday Inn on Major and the Comfort Inn on Major. They are both within walking distance. I used to advise against it because crossing the street to get to Universal seemed pretty dangerous. However, on a subsequent trip, I noticed that there was a pedestrian crossing complete with the Walk/Don't Walk light.

I would say not within walking distance- especially after a long day spent at the park. You are just TOO TIRED!!!
