Off Property Hotel Shuttles

We've been to disney numerous times and have always stayed on property. We just went at Easter but are considering a short trip in July before school starts back. There are some great off property deals to be had, but my only hesitation is the hotel shuttles. I guess Disney spoils you with the buses about every 15 minutes or so, the boats and monorails. I don't want to lose lots of park time waiting for hotel shuttles to take me! Any experiences good or bad to share? Any hotels with excellent shuttle service? We're thinking of maybe doubletree at downtown disney or hilton at downtown disney? I'm sure there are other great places too. Help! Thanks!

doubletree or hilton at downtown disney are good ones.

the buses are not as fast as Disney. but they come every half-hour. they use to share

don't know if they still do. also your buses will stay on your side of the street.
that could change too.

you know they use to push their specials thru disney. don't think they do anymore - wonder if that is a mistake on their part.

We love staying at DTD Hilton. The busses do run every 30 minutes and continue running well after park closing, even on late EMH nights. That's another advantage of DTD Hilton - they participate in EMH. The hotel is right across the street from DTD, so you can also walk over there and take WDW busses to the resorts (WDW busses do not go from the parks to DTD).
