So it's finally nearly here and we leave for our christmas trip on Sunday morning. It looks like lots of rain is forecast so am getting a bit worried. I would much prefer freezing weather than rain :confused3
Any tips/advice?

We all have thermals and waterproof coats and bottoms as well as snow boots.
I am defiantly not one to let some rain ruin my holiday just worried rides won't be running and the parades and dreams will be cancelled etc.
just not ice being wet all day is it? And my photos!

When we went in September it was pointing down probably the worst rain I have ever seen in DLP but dreams still went on. The CM said its more likely to be cancelled die to wind then rain.

Again the parade poring down and it still went ahead.

I hope you still have a great trip we have been 3 times this year and all 3 trips were complete wash outs. Does it ever not rain in DLP?

It's very wet today, hasn't stopped so far, but it's not cold - around 10° and the wind level is low which is good.

Yesterday was colder but dry until evening.

I think sadly you are going to get a fair bit of rain but nothing will be cancelled as it's only "rain" and not thunderstorms or snow blizzards and therefore doesn't hamper the parades or Dreams.

It's a mild and wet Christmas this year but at least you'll be in Disney and you'll have no bother getting home or anything unlike the year the snow blocked everything and everyone.

Fingers crossed that it eases up and have an amazing time :goodvibes

Thank you!
We will have an amazing time whatever the weather I'm sure! Just doing lasts minute packing now. :scared:
Can anyone confirm that Dream annual passes are E200 each with a 20 percent discount on 5? So for us will be a total of 800 euros? Do we need to take anything to get these? X

We're just back, and although it drizzled a lot it wasn't particularly cold/windy as Carrie said, so not unpleasant.

My daughter took a small umbrella and I spent most of my time under that with her. Would definitely recommend taking one :thumbsup2

You just need your passports to get your family discount.

Did you want 5 dream passes for a particular reason, as you'd save a lot of money if you had 5 fantasy passes/4 fantasy and 1 dream.

We are currently here, weather isn't too bad, Thursday was raining quite a bit but everything was still running and it didnt soil our day, we have snow suits as waterproof boots, today hasn't rained at all been a great day, we haven't really noticed the cold, weather forecast bar tomorrow is just cloudy, rooms are warm enough at night aswell

Brilliant thank you for all the reassurance!
I will definitely use the walkway thank you!
I will be packing an umbrella. We are going for the Dreams as we are planning another trip for Halloween in the October half term and I think these are blackout days on all the other passes?? :confused3

If you stay on site in a Disney hotel you over ride the blackout days of your AP - just something to keep in mind ;)

I didn't know that Carrie Cat, thank you, is that even if you book room only without park tickets? We were thinking about Explorers in October but not set in stone yet! :thumbsup2

We had been doing this for our trip next month. Onsite with APs booked thru expedia so we would have EMH for the blockout day (friends ap is fantasy) but as is sods law we picked her up a ticket for the blockout day and the next week upgraded to HNY package with tickets (it was a bargain!!).
From doing dummy bookings Ive noticed that the SF and Cheyennes room only rates on expedia are often cheaper or comparible to the 4 partner hotels.

I didn't know that either!

So how does that work then Carrie, as had assumed your AP simply wouldn't work at the turnstile if it was a blackout day?

You show them your hotel easy pass along with your AP and they let you through.

It's the only time you can go in on a blackout day is when you are a Disney hotel guest :goodvibes

Thanks Carrie!

So in theory one could save even more money by purchasing Francillian APs?

With the Francillians though, you can't use them for a number of days after the day of purchase so no good if you buy them on the first day of your holiday.

That wouldn't bother us, as happy to find other things to do for a couple of days.

However, just found this info on an old thread:

"15% shareholder discount combined with the family discount is only valid on buying Fantasy and Dream APs"

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2722156

....so assuming that is still correct, you'd need to bear that in mind as well when trying to work out the cheapest option.

Our shareholder card expires this year, and we won't be renewing, so think the Francillian + family discount will be the way for us to go in future.
