I've been wondering for some time why Polynesia isn't represented in the white and gold area. Did they just not have room? Is that the only group not present at the close?

Nobody else knows why the nations appear at the end of the ride dressed in white and gold to symbolize peace, but Polynesia is absent? I mean, I'm sure it's not a political statement but have always wondered why they aren't there.

On the other hand that's the only room that the United States is represented. But, really, cowboys and Indians?

I think the whole thing is put together so odd. There is so much space that is unused in there they could add so very much. But I digress it's still on my list of favorites and I ALWAYS ask to sit in the front row!!!!!

Interesting! Small World is a pretty quirky ride so I guess I shouldn't expect it to hold up to intense scrutiny :rotfl: I don't get some of the stuff in the ride but enjoy it anyway, with the exception of the added "America" bit at the end with a funky farm scene and weird looking Toy Story characters. I read once that they look weird because they're supposed to be doll representations of...well, dolls. Uh, yeah.

Anyway, thanks for the replies. I guess I'll just take it as part of the odd nature of the ride.

Based on an image search, it looks like the WDW version has hula dancers in the finale room. Likely just a DL oversight.

I can confirm this. :)

Ha ha, accurate representations by Disney? Have you seen "The American Adventure" at Epcot? This history major was biting her tongue the whole time!

Yes, I love American Adventure. I'd be interested in knowing what you were biting your tongue at. For the most part, allowing for dramatic license, it seemed accurate to me (but I'm not a history major ;))

Sorry, :offtopic:.

Oh, it's accurate in the sugar coated written by white anglican males history way. ;)

I'm pretty sure the only Canadian representation is one single Mountie who kind of looks like a cross between a Mountie and a beaver. :confused3

LOL!! I did a quick google search and found this:

"The North Pole features dolls representing Scandinavia and Canada singing "it's a small world (after all)" in Swedish."

Another oddity!
