With only a week to go before we set off I thought it was time to start my pre dining review.

My previous reviews can be found here (23 nights, 40 ADRs, too many food pics to count!) and here (ANOTHER 21 days in WDW+DxDDP=hundreds of food pics)

This trip will be a little different. Usually it’s just DH and myself, but this time we’re taking my parents with us for their first ever visit to the US. I have to say this has been the most difficult/stressful run up to a trip ever.

We started out planning a joint 40th birthday for my DH and a 30th celebration for my sister. I thought we would treat my parents, sister and brother in law to a WDW holiday, sharing with them the place I love so much.

So we booked the three rooms at the Beach Club and six flights. A couple of weeks later my sister tells me she’s getting divorced. Once the shock had wore off and things had settled down, I cancelled her soon to be ex-husband off the booking and we were down to 5 people.

Then her boss decides she can’t have the time off work she needs. Around 3 months ago she informs me she’s no longer coming (turning down a free trip to WDW, I’m beginning to doubt we’re related!!!:rotfl2:). I cancel her flight and room and we’re down to just the four of us.

I’ve had to make so many changes to dining, canceling flights, rooms etc but I think we’re finally done and ready to go!

So the final cast is:

Me: 32 year old Disney Fanatic. Has a sweet tooth, a love of cocktails and is obsessed with WDW food pictures!

DH: 40 year old, who patiently puts up with my disney obsession. Former vegetarian, who now eats fish, his favourite desserts are Sticky toffee pudding and tiramisu.

Mum: 61 year old, will eat anything and is really looking forward to her first visit to WDW.

Dad: 65 year old, loves his food, eats absolutely anything and is very happy about finally getting to visit America.

If you’ve read my previous reports you’ll see that our usual style is to get the DxDDP and eat in signatures every night. Although my mum would love signature dining, I know she wouldn’t manage two meals every day. Even paying for a few extra meals out of pocket it worked out cheaper to stick with the free DDP. After changing ADRs about 100 times I’m finally happy with our choices. I’ve been even more indecisive than usual, as I feel I’ve really built WDW up to my parents, and want them to have a great trip. I’ve been showing my mum restaurant menus/pictures for months now, and I’m sure she now thinks we only visit for the food!!

As well as our dining plans being different, the rest of the trip will be too. We’ll need to slow the pace down, and plan for a bit less walking than we usually do. As this is likely to be my parents only visit to WDW we’ll be doing attractions we often skip, including visiting Kennedy Space Center and watching La Nouba which we haven’t seen since our very first trip back in 2005!

As always I’ll be taking pictures of all food, but this time I’ll have four meals to review at each restaurant, meaning double the pictures! :) My parents know all about my food photos, and have been warned not to eat anything until I’ve got a picture of it.

I’m taking my ipad with me so with the free wifi available I may be able to get a couple of updates done while we’re away.

Hope you join me for these reviews.

I am most definitely in! :thumbsup2 And would you mind if I add you to my list? (see my signature for link)

So it's been nearly a whole year since we've been to WDW, so thought I'd post pics of few dishes I've been dreaming about tasting again!

Wok Fried Green beans - Yak & Yeti. I love these and I don't even normally like green beans that much.

Starring Rolls cupcakes - I'm sure I don't have to explain why these are one of my favourite snacks!
IMG_1020.jpg

Cake pop - We don't have these in the UK, so can't wait to spend a snack credit on this

The amazing ooey gooey toffee cake from LTT. Yum!
IMG_1302.jpg

Pork with goats cheese polenta - soo good. The menu at california grill always looks great, but I can never tear myself away from this dish.

The wonderful coffee at V&A

Magical star cocktail - I've heard they may be updating the drinks menu but I hope this one stays.

And of course, we couldn't visit California Grill without sampling some sushi

Yeah I'm disappointed my sister isn't coming and it's not the same trip I imagined when we started planning it a year ago, but I'm sure it will still be fun.

Only 5 days to go and I'm still tweaking adrs. My dad started asking about breakfasts and how much he enjoys a 'full English breakfast' while on holiday. Therefore I've added in another ts breakfast and chose The Wave, it won't quite be a full English but he can have a nice american breakfast there!

YAY!!! Can't wait to hear about all the wonderful food!!

Can you tell me what a full English breakfast is? I'm always curious to know the differences in cultures!

Yeah of course. A full English would be bacon, sausage, eggs, may be hash browns and baked beans, served with toast. So I guess you'd may be just call it a cooked breakfast?

dont forget the mushrooms and tomatoes. :thumbsup2
our english bacon is so different to the US bacon. Its a lot thicker, more like your ham. The bacon you use is what we call- streaky bacon.

look forward to reading your food report :goodvibes

Lol, you're right I forgot about those! I can't stand fried tomatoes so that's probably why I forgot them.

Thanks, I just can't wait to get there now.

I had to get up at 4:15 this morning to catch a train down to Reading for work. I've realised getting up for those early morning breakfasts and rope drop will be a breeze compared to this!!

Only 3 more days to go!

I'm in! I love your ADR's......can't wait to hear all about the food!
