Odd question

We will be at the cabins from Sept. 26th until Oct. 3rd. I will be getting enough food from gg for breakfast & dinner every day. I know there will be leftover pancake mix, syrup, etc. I hate to just throw it all out when we leave. Can't take it along, we are flying & doing just carryons. I know thios sounds weird but would anyone want our leftovers? For free, I just hate to waste it all. I know no one knows us personally so if this is a crazy request then I understand. Let me know.

I think thats nice of you to offer. But if there are no takers, you can do something like this:

pancakes (cook them up) and feed them to the ducks , birds and fish at the lake (away from the marina)

nuts & snacks go to the squirrels

syrup to the fireants

meat to the gators

beer to the otters



there, problem solved.

If memory serves me correctly, the only animals at FW that should be fed by humans would be the pets belonging to guests. At least that is one of the written WDW-FW rules we have followed since our first visit to FW in 1982. Same rules were applicable for the times we stayed at the original Tree House Villas. DW, DD, DS and I enjoyed the daily visits by the peacocks and other furry friends but never fed them.

Twice we have checked into the cabins and found some unopened food items in the fridge. We ate some of it and also left some more.

This may be an off the wall suggestion, but I wonder if there is a homeless shelter or food bank in the area that might be willing to take any left overs?

Any you SHOULD NOT feed the animals in the fort. If you feed them human food they learn to live on only it and cannot survive on their own when there is not food.

Any case, talk with your neighbors, find some one staying a bit longer.

If you've got any unopened snack packages or drinks, I'll pick it up from you for my survival bag (check siggie). And I'll use whatever can't be added. That way you can help out more than one diser. PM me if you would like me to do this.

While your last 3 suggestions were very humorous, the first 2 were very sensible. Had you added a after each suggestion, there would have been no mistaking your humour. The problem is many people have no problem with feeding wild animals, even Fl. gators, with the result being possible harm to the animals to pets and to people.

BTW, I was sure that all your suggestions were not to be taken seriously but I had to respond the way I did.

I believe you can also put a note on it and then leave it for Mousekeeping. If it has a note, I think the CM's can put it in their break room for someone to take. Beats throwing it out or feeding fire ants

We have always found our camping neighbors are willing to take our leftovers. Especially if it's something we cooked outside that they have had to smell cooking (in a good way) or if we had enough that they didn't have to cook.

Oh darn, I thought you were serious. I had my hopes up of spending a quiet afternoon feeding the alligators. NOT
