So I'm thinking about surprise DW by adding a 3nt on the Dream to the back end of our WDW vacation. Problem is, she almost always gets home before me so she'll see the mail. Is there any way to tell DCL to not send anything in the mail? I don't mind having to get luggage tags from the porters.

They'll want to mail you your cruise booklet. That's pretty important. Could you list a friend's or relative's address as your mailing address?

You can get a PO box for the mail you don't want your wife to see.

What a wonderful surprise!!! Great suggestions from the PP for you!! :thumbsup2

Can't you decline the booklet? I thought there was a thread about that some time ago.

Yes, I believe you can now decline the book, but I though they still mailed the luggage tags........
Original poster, just give dcl a call and Im sure they can adjust the address for you.

Have fun.

… and then your wife wonders why the joint bank account is paying for a PO box each month

so you open a new bank account for it to go out of
and then you bump into the bank manager in Costco and can't explain how you know her
and it end up just being you on the cruise

Only joking! It's a lovely lovely idea. Wish someone would surprise me with a cruise. Work address would be easier for my hubby though if he's reading this...

Last week when I did check in the options were High Level Summary or a Expanded Details. To me that means you will always get something in the mail

You can sign up at USPS.com to see what mail is being delivered each day, and the day the packet arrives try to get home first.

When I have surprises for the family, I have things shipped to my parents' house. I do this with things like Christmas gifts - and will do more now that DD is almost 6 and getting very perceptive!

I think shipping to your work address could be another viable options, depending on your workplace.

Yes, This^^^^. You can sign up for informed delivery on USPS. Every day you'll get an e-mail with photos of the envelope of what you'll be receiving in the mail for that day. In addition to the booklet we occasionally get another random letter from DCL that simply states "The so & so family is going on a Disney Cruise". You'll want to be on the lookout for that letter as well. With informed delivery you can be first one home on those days to yank those couple of items out of the mail.

Also, not sure who is primary on your Disney Cruise account but when we book, my wife also gets a confirmation e-mail and other e-mails throughout the wait such as the "Your Disney Cruise is almost here!" e-mail that gives pointers on booking activities. If she gets these e-mails then this will spoil the surprise, so please consider that if she is the one who usually gets the DCL e-mails.

Actually OT, but the PO box my dad got was only the beginning of the end of my parent's marriage.. But he wasn't using it for cruise mail but to have his credit card bills be sent there to hide his growing debt from hitting the bars

The booklet is the only thing they will send you but it is super important.

I booked a cruise this past June and received mail in July from Disney. It was just a small pamphlet basically saying "thanks for booking another disney cruise". So the booklet might not be the only thing they send out. Vacations are a surprise for my kids, luckily I got to the mail before they did.
