So - DH and I are refinancing our mortgage. We've been married 22 years. Have had all joint accounts (except for IRA's 403B's, and 401K).

We live in a community property state.

So - why are our credit scores different? Of course - mine is higher...:rotfl2: and I am giving DH a hard time about this. He is dragging me down:rotfl2:

The scores are excellent - and are only different by 7 points...but still..mine is higher!

So - the question - why would they possibly be different?

It could be something as small as how long you have had credit vs your DH.
Do you have an old unused store credit card that may affect your utilization percent favorably:confused3

No old store cards...we cancelled them all ages ago.

All the credit cards we've had since we've been married are all joint accounts. The only store card we have is Kohl's - as you get extra discounting from time to time - and we shop their frequently. The rest - just 1 Amex, 1-Visa, and 1-Mastercard. That is it. 2-joint checking accounts, and our savings. Everything has been joint for over 20 years.

Although...when we got married - I already owned a house, and DH had a liittle bit left with student loans. Wonder if that has anything to do with this.
