Hi,
I just booked a MK "Wishes" B-day cruise for DK's for May. All of the Epcot ones were reserved. Has anyone every had luck with booking 6 weeks or less for the Epcot one. Any suggestions? A fellow DVC member said I should wait until the week before and call everyday to see if someone cancels at the last minute. Cancel time is within 24hrs.

Thanks,
Bonnie :earsgirl:

I booked it as soon as I could and was caller number six. They only have 6. I was on the phone as soon as I could be. I really doubt you will be able to get one. I'm glad we did it but I really don't think it is worth the money. We couldn't see very well. You are under the bridge so all you see is what is in front of you. You get ash all over you and it is very smokey. I won't waste my money to do it again. I guess everyone should try it once though.

Wow, you must have had a windy night. I've been lucky enough to do an Illuminations cruise every trip. (and share with other disboarders). The view is totally breathtaking. It's the same view you'd get standing on the bridge by England. The bonus is that you're sitting, nobody is in front of you, you don't have to stand holding your spot for a very long time. Also, if it's drizzling, then the boat has a cover. I've never had smoke or ash anywhere near us. I'm sorry you had such an unfortunate ride.

Whew, that other post had me worried! I am sharing with twotoohappy (above) on the next trip, and we can't wait!! I tried as hard as I could, followed the disboards advice, and was not able to get one. Sharing will be fun (and cheaper) too! Looking forward to meeting you twotoohappy!

We have done the Illuminations Cruise three times. We had a great view and didn't get any ash or smoke our way. Our son wants to do it again, but for now, three times is enough. It was a lot of fun.

But you have to be quick and there are not that many boats available.

Our experience is that if you aren't on the phone the first morning it can be booked, you are out of luck!!!! It is a marvelous experience!!!!! The good idea is to call to see if anyone cancels. I see that you are "sharing" with another Disney Board person.........How Nice :cool1: .........Enjoy :bounce:

Bonnie,
Have you posted on the board for May to see if someone is willing to share. You don't mention how big your party is, but maybe someone out there who was lucky enough to book one has space for you. Check theme parks and attractions, look at the Illuminations post and scroll down. Illuminations Cruise thread for May will be listed there. You can add your request and hope for a response. Just a suggestion if you hadn't already thought about it.

On our 2004/5 Christmas New Years trip, I hadn't made prior arrangements, Well as "magic happens" when we're in WDW I called on our second day there and was told everything was booked, I called intermittently for the next 2 days and obtained a cancellation cruise!

1. We have done the cruise at least 6 times and have never been hit by ash and debris.

2. I would also suggest to call during the last week. There was a cancelation during our Christmas 2003 trip on Christmas Eve. It was my birthday and I got the trip as a gift from recreation for my birthday...just one day before..

How many people on one boat? We are a family of 5. I called again yesterday still out of luck. I will call once a week until the final week then everyday. I am sure the MK "Wishes" show will be great too.
Wish me luck.

Thanks for the input.

If you get a pontoon boat, it will hold 10 adults or a combination of 12 adults and kids. The Breathless is much smaller, maybe 7?
