OCTOBER WAITLIST Support Group...

I would like to join this group. I am waiting for Oct. 20th in a studio at SSR. I tried booking 5 nights at SSR on Monday of this week. I could ONLY get Tuesday and Wed. Oct. 18th and 19th. I did two waitlist for my other days with Thursday being the solo day. On Wed. I got the Friday and Sat. but still nothing for that Thursday. I currently have a reservation at CSR that I booked on Monday too for Thursday thru Sat. nights as back up. So now I need to modify those nights. FINGERS are crossed that this one night comes up. If not I might just book a cash room for that night so we don't have to move.

I just solved my waitlist problem and booked a 1br at SSR for my dates. LOL I figured I would splurge on the points since they are much lower than spring. I also added another night. We will just have to stay in a studio next spring. I love staying in the bigger villas anyway. SO.....DONE. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!

Well, the first week of October seemed to just have a lot of movement at AKV Jambo, but not the second week which is what we're looking at. Sigh.

We're waitlisted there for two nights into the second week as well. Here's hoping that it opens up a bit sometime soon!

I'm going to join too! I am trying to get just 3 nights Oct 5-8 (we normally go columbus day week every year no problem, but this year there is nothing!).
We need to borrow the points for the 3 nights but we only have basically enough for those 3 nights available to borrow...so i am debating putting a waitlist in for every resort cause I'm assuming if one goes through and then another one at the same time only one will be booked since we don't have enough points.

joining. I have the 6th at BWV. Waitlisting individual nights for 7,8th for bwv which is our first choice. I do have the 8,9th at jambo and I wouldn't mind staying there but still need the 7th somewhere and no one has anything!!! Been checking a few times a day trying to snag something. That's how I got Jambo a few days ago.

thankfully I have plenty of points to maneuver reservations while I wait for the waitlist picks. But only have until end of July, since that is our banking date and I don't want to lose the points by not banking them. We may just end up off property that one night.

You are limited to 2 waitlists in a UY so unless you have multiple Memberships you'll have to pick only 2. When you have two waitlists set up for the same time if one fills then the other one will be cancelled.

So, if the WL don't come through, we have the 7, 8, 9 at Jambo and since I believe we can use the club the entire day of check-out (have to confirm this) we will be set for a place to lounge if we don't want to go to the pool all day. Just need to put the bags with the bell hop. Still wanting the BWV to work out but I feel better now that all our days are confirmed somewhere. I only have 6 weeks left before I have to make final decisions on the WL before I have to bank my unused points. So crunch time...

That's a good question, because there aren't. Oct banking deadline is May 31st (which I have to remember!) and Dec is July 31st.

I have a Dec UY. I tend to bank at the end of June because I forgot to bank one year and almost lost the entire 240 points. I used my "one time" - oops I forgot - with MS so I don't ever want to forget again. It is just in my head that I have until end of June, but yes, you are correct, I have until July 31, technically.

If I was only waitlisting, I *think* I could bank my points and then if WL came through, it would be pulled from the banked, right? But as I have it now, I have several reservations while I wait for the waitlists so I will have to cancel the waitlist (and extra reservations, keeping a base reservation that makes most sense at that point) before July 31 because the WL is less than the reservation they would be replacing so even if they came through, I would still have extra points sitting out there I would have to use by the end of the year. Now, that wasn't confusing at all....

Banking is a final transaction so what they would do if you needed more points and you had already banked is to borrow points from your next UY.

I just got my wait list for October 1 at BWV, will be there for 9 days.

we should see some movement now. Yesterday while the site was down, they put a BWV boardwalk view studio back into service. So when you checked the availability it showed avail for July to January almost completely. Of course no one could book. Looks like the site came up late last night and most days were pulled for waitlist and some lucky late night folks (or members from the west) were able to grab the days. I got up a 6:00AM and managed to book one night that we needed just to have a place to sleep. So MS should be busy today processing waitlist request, which has a rippling effect by freeing up other rooms. I plan to stalk throughout the next few days as it normally takes MS several days to process waitlist. Others should do the same if a studio is what you're waiting for....just saying.

due to DH's work constraints we need to lop the 1st day off our Oct trip. Trying to add on a 2nd week of vacation to have more than 6 nights that trip.

shocked to see 4 nights @ SSR studio starting columbus day.

WL'd for two other properties, monday to friday that week. Not going to hold my breath but will keep checking the site.
