October Travelers.....?????

Any of you traveling in October? This is my first trip with my family and I wanted to go during a time that would not be too crowded. Anybody have any ideas how the crowds will be in October? I am starting to get concerned since the parks are open still pretty late and that on Saturday the are doing two parades.

I think it is "slower" as it is early in the school year and people don't want to pull their kids out of school...but it is regular season and with the Fairy Tale Package I think it maybe busier than usual...I've been in early October with no problems, pretty light crowds. I've never been in late October like this year so I'm not sure about that. Disney is variable so it is hard to tell! Sorry I can't be more help!

We went last year in 2nd & 3rd week of October. No problems with crowds, lines were doable. I've heard that Columbus Day weekend can be crowded. I'm also wondering how the FTP will effect the # of people at the parks.
Guess we'll all find out soon! (but not soon enough).

I'm feeling the same way but the way I look at it: If there are fewer people & the temperatures are lower than when we're used to going (summer months) it'll be a bonus. I'm sure it can't be that bad.

We'll be there the last week of October. I, too, am anxious to see how FTP affects crowds, etc. I think we picked a good time to go though (crossing my fingers). I've done September -- too hot; and November (great, but no FTP at the time we booked and got our air). Now I'll try October.

Not taking into account FTP, early October will be fairly light, and later October will pick up a bit, particularly at Epcot and the Epcot resorts, while the F&WF is going on. That is a great event and draws more of an adult crowd.
