October Hols

Hi all,

There seem to be a lot of you folks on here going in October, some for 3 weeks. I guess some of you must have kids, I know they get a week in October, but how are you all getting on taking them from school for another 2 weeks. We took our out for about 6 days extra over the easter break which we seemed to get away with, but they do get 2 weeks at easter so thet seems the best/coolest/cheapest time to go.

We're one of those naughty families who have taken DD out of school for a week or so every since she's been in Primary/junior schools - my DH cannot have time off from his job in August so we cannot go then and we love May/June time, so take out a week after May half term. The weather is fantastic and the crowds not too bad.

I'm really hoping October doesn't let us down - I went in October and November in the 80s and think it was hot (well, I distinctly remember my face peeling different layers six times ).

(For those teachers out there, taking Katie out has always been with the express agreement with the school and never near any exams.)

From what I've read, you may have to choose carefully around Easter because it's one of the really busy times in the parks, but with some forward planning, it can be done right
