October Columbus Day Crowds? Weather?

We are going The week of Columbus Day. Just wondering if it is still typically hot and humid. Also would it be more crowded due to the one day holiday? Last year we did Jersey Week and I was disappointed at all the crowds. So what can we expect?

We went last year during the week of Columbus day and it was very crowded. I have typically gone only during the April school vacation week and I am sorry to say it was more crowded during the Columbus day week. I dont know if it is like this every year though, but I was disappointed in the amount of the crowds. Last year however there was an amazing military discount which may have added to the additional people. It was a deal that was so hard to pass up and I am sure many took advantage of it.

As for the weather, the first half of the week was extremely hot and humid but I kept hearing that this is not typical of Oct. The second half was beautiful--middle to upper 70s with NO humidity!!!

Very, very mixed reviews from last year. We went for a week over the Columbus day holiday and had no problems. We NEVER waited more than 20 minutes to get on a ride and that was at MNSSHP where the crowds were said to be the lightest.

What you have to remember is that last year they ran the 7 nights for the price of 4. That probabally increased the crowds from what people are used to that time of year.

We really had no problems with crowds at all. ASMo was packed. Even so, the pools and the food court were very managable.

As for the weather, we couldn't have asked for better. Mid 80s never got the ponchos out. It was a bit chilly in early mornings and some evenings. I just packed sweatshirts for myself and the kids.
