October Check in - Halloween and more

Disney Family will be going to DL in May for DS's Birthday. DW really wants to bring the kids to go to the Halloween Party as well....so I was pondering whether we should just get the Annual pass before the 15th....not only to take advantage of the benefits with an Annual pass ( since 3 trips would take care cover the cost of an Annual Pass )...but also to get the pre-sale for the Annual Passholders.

Is it worth it to do this?

How many tickets can Annual Passholders get?

The main thing is that I want to be sure that I get the Halloween tickets for that weekend.
The info. that is posted on the annual passholder site is on page 4 of this thread. :) It says that passholders can purchase 8 tickets for each date. If your May trip is schedule after the 15th, then you wouldn't have an activated AP on the 15th when the tickets went on sale. I'm pretty sure you'd need an activated AP to purchase the tickets as a passholder. If you're activating your AP (going to DLR) before the 15th, then you would be all set to get the tickets on the 15th. If not, I wouldn't worry about it at all. Another poster on here (Vala) said that she bought tickets for Halloween night on August 1st of last year when they went on sale to the general public. So if you're getting AP's for your May trip, just order the tickets after you activate your AP's. There shouldn't be any problem getting them then. If you plan on taking multiple trips within the year and the first one will be in May, then I'd say that it is worth it to get the AP's for that trip so that you can buy the tickets shortly after that and use the discounts at the parks as you mentioned. If it's really important that you get tickets for Halloween night, then getting the AP would guarantee that, although tickets for that night were still available when ticket sales were released to the general public in August last year. I don't know the pattern for when they sell out, so I'm sorry that I can't help you there. I do know that Fridays sell out first, but as far as what will happen for tickets on Halloween night for this year, I guess there is no way of telling if it will be the same as in the past.

I bought my ticket for the actual Halloween day on August 1 last year when the tickets went on general sale and I was fine.

Halloween will sell out, but it won't be a 2 minute Hannah Montana concert sell out. ;)
Good to know that tickets for Halloween night were still available when they went on general sale last year. I've see several posts where people were concerned that they wouldn't be able to get them due to not having an AP. The thing that compares to the Hannah Montana concert sell out is tickets for the Candlelight Processional at DLR in Dec. Yikes! Those sell out so fast....not in minutes but within a few hours! :)

I haven't tried for the Candlelight Professional, but I remembered a friend going on about the last Hannah Montana sale way too well.

If I recall correctly Halloween wasn't even the first date to sell out last year. At least one of the dates during the fall breaks was first, maybe even two. And even that happened only in September. I know from own experience how nervous it makes you to wait for general sale, so I can again speak from own experience that being nervous is not necessary. ;)

Yes, you're right. I heard that some Fridays sold out first, before Halloween did. It makes sense that it would be during those fall break weekends. I heard that it's CRAZEEEEE! Hopefully things will be calmer when we go on the 16th. I tried to avoid the weekends with special things going on, so let's hope it works! :)

So the Mickey's Trick Or Treat tickets will go on sale around August for non pass holders?

We will be heading DL October 18-24 and staying at HOJO. We got AP during our trip in December of 2008 so we will be able to buy early! Thanks for the info on when they go on sale!

It was August 1 last year. It was my first time going then, so I have no idea how it has been in the years before. But around August seems like a good guess to me.

We're doing our FIRST DL trip Oct 28-31 followed by a Mex Riv cruise (NCL). We're staying at Fairfield Inn and got a GREAT rate based on their "Look No Further Best Rate Gaurantee". We have a 2 yr old and a 7 mo (who will be days away from being 3 yr old & a 13 mo by the time we go!) so I'm definitely thinking about doing the Halloween Party while there.

I remember seeing that you had the exact same dates and the same hotel as us! Maybe we'll run into each other. We plan on doing the halloween party on Wed. the 21st. I want to do it during the week when it's less crowded, and there is a discounted price for AP holders on that night. If you haven't see it yet, I posted all the info. about the party on page 4 of this thread. Have you registered on the AP section at DLR's website? If so, go to "special offers" and the info. is there. I hope you have a great time!

I plan on going on my birthday, Oct. 6.
One idea is to fly down just for the day, all by myself.
The other idea is to drive down with some friends.

Not sure yet which way it will go, but I plan on being there one way or the other!

Tickets for AP holders are on sale on the AP website now!

We will be there 28th of Sep to 3rd of October. Staying at HoJos.
Excited to be able to go to the ToT party on 2 October!

BabyJosie, my DD just named her brand new baby Josie. Well, her name is Jocelyn but we all call her Josie. :)

I'll be there in October as well and am hoping to go to the October 8th ToT party. I don't have an AP but I do have a Disney Visa. I couldn't find confirmation anywhere when we can start buying tickets. Anyone know?

Cool! Not a lot of Josie's out there. My DD is just Josie...It is not short for any other name. I just always liked the name. Congrats!]

Please add me for the Trick or Treat party for Oct. 15th

It is very unique, hopefully it stays that way. :) Your DD is a cutie pie by the way! :)

The AP website says you can book online or call (714) 781-4400.

I'd say call the number and ask, at least I never saw anything posted about Disney Visa bookings yet. Of does Disney Visa have a website have a website where you could check about special offers?
