The info. that is posted on the annual passholder site is on page 4 of this thread.Disney Family will be going to DL in May for DS's Birthday. DW really wants to bring the kids to go to the Halloween Party as well....so I was pondering whether we should just get the Annual pass before the 15th....not only to take advantage of the benefits with an Annual pass ( since 3 trips would take care cover the cost of an Annual Pass )...but also to get the pre-sale for the Annual Passholders.
Is it worth it to do this?
How many tickets can Annual Passholders get?
The main thing is that I want to be sure that I get the Halloween tickets for that weekend.
It says that passholders can purchase 8 tickets for each date. If your May trip is schedule after the 15th, then you wouldn't have an activated AP on the 15th when the tickets went on sale. I'm pretty sure you'd need an activated AP to purchase the tickets as a passholder. If you're activating your AP (going to DLR) before the 15th, then you would be all set to get the tickets on the 15th. If not, I wouldn't worry about it at all. Another poster on here (Vala) said that she bought tickets for Halloween night on August 1st of last year when they went on sale to the general public. So if you're getting AP's for your May trip, just order the tickets after you activate your AP's. There shouldn't be any problem getting them then. If you plan on taking multiple trips within the year and the first one will be in May, then I'd say that it is worth it to get the AP's for that trip so that you can buy the tickets shortly after that and use the discounts at the parks as you mentioned. If it's really important that you get tickets for Halloween night, then getting the AP would guarantee that, although tickets for that night were still available when ticket sales were released to the general public in August last year. I don't know the pattern for when they sell out, so I'm sorry that I can't help you there. I do know that Fridays sell out first, but as far as what will happen for tickets on Halloween night for this year, I guess there is no way of telling if it will be the same as in the past.

We have a 2 yr old and a 7 mo (who will be days away from being 3 yr old & a 13 mo by the time we go!) so I'm definitely thinking about doing the Halloween Party while there.
