Yay! We are now booked at the Radisson for the night before! :woohoo: Look foward to possibly meeting some of you that are staying there...we probably wont be there until later at night, depending on when DH can get out of work...I'm thinking 10pm?
For those who are staying at the Radisson, and anyone else who wants to come over, we are going to have a pool party Friday night at around 8pm. We should still be there around 10pm. Join us if you can!
Allen

Documents  Documents  WooHoo!!!!! :Pinkbounc I LOVE my mailman! So now it's official - we can cruise, according to these lovely documents!:yay:

Dis meet preference - before lifeboat drill. I'm thinking it might be hard to meet at the Sail Away party as I assume it will be packed. But of course, I have never cruised, so what do I know? :confused3 Whatever the group decides is fine by us!

PhilKY - my daughter is home sick today and she hasn't logged on. I will tell her your daughter emailed her and she will be thrilled. From Allen's list, there aren't too many girls their age on board, so yes, it would be nice if they get to know each other.

Starting to get my packing list organized!!!!!!!!!!!! See you all soon!!!! party:

on our 4/15 cruise we met on Deck 10 Port side over looking the party. No one else was there

Did anyone else read in their documents that no coolers are allowed except for medical or baby supplies? Does anyone know if they enforce this rule?? We were planning on bringing a cooler with "adult beverages"!!!! :confused3 :confused3

pit303 - The documents have always said this but DCL doesn't enforce it. You'll also see signs when you get to security but they will not stop you. Just make sure there is no ice in the cooler and it has to fit through the x-ray machine which is like the ones at airport.

Last sept. we had our mickey softsided rolling cooler with us so did the people in front and behind us. I was super nervous about it for some reason but the security guy asked if it had ice in it and we said no. He put it through the machine and then told us to have fun.

When you get to your stateroom ask your host/hostess to keep ice in it for you all week. I'll hostess last year did an awesome job. She put a bag of ice in it every AM and refreshed it at night. We had cold water and other drinks at all times. It was nice to have. We had 2 bottles of wine also which our hostess kept wine glasses in our room for us.

I agree that during the party is a bad time. Folks are going to be wanting to focus on their family and dancing with the Mouse at that time. That is a real highlight and at least selfishly I only want to focus on laughing and taking pictures of my dear children.

That said

I think a few would show up prior to the drill though, and it will help if we keep it brief. Esp those that want the kids to meet each other. That is a place a lot of us will be anyway, checking out the pool, maybe getting a small bowl icecream.

Based on comments from Daisy, TexasGirl and others....

Maybe Goofy's Gallery at 3pm (since they close at 3:30)? Some could still meet on Deck 10 for the party if they don't want to be in the middle of things dancin' with the Mouse. I'm sure we'll be down there doing the Micky Mambo :dancer: or whatever they do.....

Thanks...I saw that she has an email from your DD today.

We are getting so excited, Oct. 7 is coming pretty quick! :mickeyjum

I have a question for you cruise veterans: Should I pack the kids' life jackets? I know the ship has plenty, but what about when we go on the tenders, and if we go kayaking or something at one of the ports of call? I'm already stressing about how to fit all this stuff in our luggage, adding two big, bulky life jackets might be a problem, but I don't want to need them and not have any. What do you think?

Thanks! Laurie

Leave 'em at home! (life jackets, not the kids!)You will need the room for souvies!! :teeth: Seriously though, anywhere life jackets are required, they will be provided. pirate: Same with beach towels. :beach:

Please pray and send pixie dust our ways!!!! I think I've mention on here my sister had a cord blood transplant last Nov. for her hodgkins. Well she got back from an Alaskan cruise on the 13th. Two days later her feet started swelling. The doctor thought it was from her hiking too much and she needed rest. Well now her hands are swelling and she has bumbs plus she's ran a fever for 2 days. So they are putting her into the hospital. An infectious disease doctor is going to biopsy the bumbs to rule out anything she might have caught in Alaska. Also they are going to test for host vs. graft disease which is something that all transplant patients can come down with and is very serious.

Right now we are with 1971visitor and holding our breaths. We just don't know what's going to happen.

Thanks

We will pray for your sister and your family! :grouphug:

:sunny: Prayers are working for us :yay: . Alan is much improved! He goes to the arm doctor tomorrow and the trauma doctor on Monday. We are hoping for clearance for returning to work (he's going stir crazy  ) and for cruising. :boat:

Cale is well and back at school. :bounce:

Thanks to all! I'll keep you updated on the cruise outlook.........

Jamie

Prayers and Pixie Dust coming from us too. :grouphug: pixiedust:

Jamie- so glad to hear that Cale is back in school and that Alan is healing well. I'll be praying for his upcoming doctor visits and for that cruise clearance!

Sharon

That would be the nicest thing. On a lighter note I filled the gas tank today for $1.95 a gallon. I'm not allowed to pack till Sunday, I keep telling DW we have to pack for 2 weeks, and that takes a lot of time. See ya'll soon :cool1: :cheer2: :dance3: :wave2:
