October 7, 2006 Western "Latitude Adjustment Cruise"

UPS man just delievered my parents cruise documents!!!!!! :cool1: :Pinkbounc  :cheer2:
My sister has received hers today too!! Now I just have to find mine and dh's documents. We moved two weeks ago into my parents house while our house is getting built. I'm sure they are trying to deliever them to my old address.

The documents are not nearly as big as the ones we received last year since now most of the forms are online. There is the Bahamas form that has to be filled out. The luggage tags are also different. They are preprinted with bar codes, stateroom #, names, ressie #, and group name (ours say Dreams Unlimited). They also sent a little map of MCO airport.

Also it says we leave cozumel at 6pm. I swear we didn't leave cozumel last year until like 9 or 10. Maybe I just can't remember.

Danzer45, thanks for the tips on where to get cruise shirts for DH. I have actually found a couple of very festive ones...hula girls and all.

I have just been booking our excursions. We are not going through disney for a couple of reasons, one being they don't allow 4 year olds on many of their excursions. We have booked a short (i think it starts at 9:30am) stingray snorkel through Mobydicktours. Their website was great and they have been very responsive. Even if you are not interested in this type of an outing you should check out the pictures in their "photo gallery" on the website. I also just booked the Atlantis submarine in Cozumel. My DS is so excited about getting to go in a submarine. Cozumelinsider is running a special for Sept and October, buy one get one free. That's a $79.00 savings if two adults are going! I think the child tickets are $45, also buy one get one. They also have been great, two ex-Texans run this company. They also have other specials on thier webiste such as discounts to Chankanaab Park. You have to put a small deposit down for the Atlantis, but if your cruise ship does not make this port for some reason you can request a refund.
it's starting to seem real now.....can't wait. :Pinkbounc :mickeyjum

It was me who asked about the non-excursions. I guess I need to know how to get to Seven Mile Beach and Paradise Beach. Taxi? Will there be some waiting at the dock? How much? Can't wait till October!

In Grand Cayman, there were tons of taxis waiting by the dock. We were there last in 2002, and at that point the going rate was $3 per person each way. They gave us their phone number and about ten minutes before we were ready to leave we called.

I believe I read that Paradise Beach is a $12 taxi ride (not sure if that's one way or round trip, I can't find more info in my notes).

Alan & Cale (Father & Son) of 1971Visitor were injured Sunday afternoon in a serious car accident. Alan had to have surgery on his left arm and got his head sloshed pretty bad. Cale, has a good shiner on his left eye and a fracture of the bone (orbital socket?) under his left eye. They are at home now, and doing well. They need TONS of pixie dust. At this point, they are not sure if they will make the cruise. Please send pixie dust and say a prayer if you are so inclined. They are a wonderful family and great friends. We will surely miss them if they don't get to go, so send pixie dust!!!!!!! We want them here :beach: for the cruise not here :surfweb:
:tinker: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

I don't know how to make pixie dust :confused3 but I do know how to say prayers. My prayers are with this family. They have almost a whole month before the ship sails so maybe they can recoup enough.

Been sending up many prayers :grouphug: . Beats pixie dust any day. :thumbsup2 Knowing Alan, he'll be on that cruise. Anyone who can drop 100 lbs. can do ANYTHING!!! See you there ALAN!!!!! Feel better soon, too Cale ;)

Hey Alan, Cale, Jamie and Allie... Just want you to know that our thoughts and prayers have been with you all since the accident on Sunday... :goodvibes So glad Alan and Cale are back home and things are better. Let us know if we can do anything.. we'll be glad to. :thumbsup2

Make sure you tell Alan that if he didn't wanna dance with me :dancer: all he had to do was say so... he didn't have to go to such drastic measures!!! :rotfl2:

Sure hope you make the cruise... pixiedust: that will be a good time for A's arm to heal. :tinker: pixiedust: :beach: pixiedust:

The Lebanon, TN bunch is fortunate. We are on the modified school schedule and we are out of school the first two weeks in October.

Alan and Cale are in my prayers. Hopefully they can recover in the next 20something days so they can come on board with us.

Best wishes and prayers to Alan and Cale from South Carolina. It is widely beleived that "sea air" has healing properties. I think the Magic would be a great place to continue to recover and be pampered! Plus, I hear that pirate chicks dig scars..... pirate:

Hope you can make it!

Alan and Cale - you are in my prayers as well. Praying for a speedy recovery for both of you. The cruise won't be the same without you so please rest up and heal up well. Looking forward to seeing you October 7.

Sharon

Just got and email from Mark at Moby Dick Tours. He mentioned that the day we are in port at GC there are only two ships scheduled. So whether you do an excurision or just head to the beach things shouldn't be too crowded! :beach:

Alan & Cale, hope you guys get better quickly. You don't want to be a land lubber like me for this cruise. I'm sending Pixie Dust your way pixiedust: pixiedust:

I do know I great date to rebook for next year!!!!!! ;)

On another note, look at my cool new avatar!!! :cool1:

Alan & Cale heal fast!! Here's hoping to see you on "The Magic" on October 7th. :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

To Alan and Cale- here's more prayers that you are up and at em' (as my Dad would say) soon! Glad things weren't worse.

party:  :woohoo: :woohoo: :yay: party: :sail:

Got my documents today!! I am sooo excited it's finally here. Mostly I am excited that my Mom (and Dad) are actually coming. Mom was diagnosed with "extremely aggressive" cancer in January and did chemo that was really, really rough. She's doing radiation now but the doctors said she can go and she is sooo excited. They live 500 miles away and I've been home to help several times but to get to actually spend a week with her. I just feel so blessed. Thanks for letting me share.

Hi Liz! It's good to hear from you. Thanks for the well wishes. Maybe someone will write a trip report. I'm not much of a writer. I'm taking my laptop, but have not decided if I will do a "Live from..." thread or not. How is Laura and the rest of the family? Drop in again soon!
Allen

Hi Allen! We are all doing well. My son is off at college now and Laura is a senior in high school and very healthy. We are so thankful. In place of the cruise we are going to WDW the week before Christmas and are looking forward to it. The kids have never been when the Christmas decorations are up so it should be fun.

Alan and Cale, I'm so sorry to hear about your accident and pray for your quick recovery. We don't need any more cruise drop outs!! Get better soon!

Have a great time everybody!! :sunny:

Hi! We can't wait until Oct. 7th! pirate:

I noticed on BigRed1's list that there are some kids that are about my kids' ages. I'd like to make some cruise friends for my DD(5) and DS(3)! PM me if your kids fit the bill...

Glad your on for the cruise. Here's hoping you fully recover from the accident. You will be in our prayers :grouphug:

We got 2 of our 4 documents yesterday. Doing the Document Dance :dancer: :dancer: They were down in an empty flower pot, I just happened to look there. Gotta watch those "Men in Brown" :chewy: Right Bill? Wonder how long they'd been there. WOHOOO!!!!! I keep hoping to see Jamie or Alan on the Dis Board. BIg Red 1 have you heard any new news. Hope things are still going well.

Carolyn
