Can't really get too excited. Wishing it was the Magic. Will be interesting to compare the two ships. They are trying open dining for the first time, we have upper level seating. Haven't been on a ship other than the Magic since 1993.

What cruise line and ship is it?

List #11 is in your mailboxes. The local Tennessee bunch got together last night for cruise party, kind of a mini dis meet I guess. (side note...just watched the Magic dock in Key West!) Thanks to Terry & Valerie (tvdisney) for hosting the party! After we put out the grease fire in the grill, it was relatively uneventful. I'm sure someone has pictures and I wouldn't be suprised if some showed up here. The kids enjoyed the pool, and the adults enjoyed the cruise talk and planning. We all enjoyed the food and beverages. Terry grills a mean hamburger, my kind of burger. 14 weeks from today, we'll be in Key West! Take the Pirate Quiz and find out what your Pirate name is. VERY cool! We're at the Port Orleans French Quarter this time, and I've been planning our action plan for the week in the World. We'll spend most of it in the World, but one day out to the Kennedy Space Center. Will give our son some totally cool educational experience. He's in honors math (who knew there was honors in third grade), so the Space Center will show him something practical that you can do when you're good at math.......

Maybe we can find a way to meet up before we go to Florida, since you are so close......let me know if you're interested.

Chris, I would love to meet up with you before the cruise. We're going to the Kennedy Space Center too, but we're doing it the day we get off the cruise. My boys are a little older than yours, but our 12 yr son will be in the "lab" on the cruise and he usually doesn't mind hanging out with younger kids. The cruise part of our vacation is still a surprise for our boys. At present they think we might be taking a tour of the "Magic" when we leave WDW so I can't talk about the cruise in front of them. I slipped once recently but my DH recovered it quickly so I think the surprise is still safe for now. I tell you the closer it gets to the departure date, the harder it's getting to keep "the secret"!

I do go up to Littleton occaisionally. Do you ever come to Colorado Springs? Send me a PM and we'll see if we can schedule a little mini cruise meet and talk Disney before we sail.

Hello Everyone!! We are booked for our first cruise, but are going with alot of ol' pros!! Allen- I did the pirate name- Black Morty Rachham- doesn't sound very nice!!

Good morning! I was just cruising the disneystore site this morning, looking for bargains (a favorite pastime of mine), and I came across a Disney-connected site that will let you customize a Pirates t-shirt!

Apparently, I haven't posted enough to be allowed to post URLs, so if you want to find this site, you can either visit disneystore or email me directly and I can get it to you.....

I was thinking we'll get our Pirate names together and do t-shirts for the daytime before changing into costumes for the night. I'm making costumes for Glenn and I (David was a pirate two years ago for Hallowe'en, with luck, the costume still fits him). If you don't sew, ebay seemed to have some decent prices for pirate wear.

Can anyone say "AARRrrrgh!?!?!?!"

p.s. I'm home today and tomorrow still because I had gallbladder surgery last Friday. Just now starting to feel decent again!

We have a "list" going for this cruise. This is totally optional. None of us will think any less of anyone who chooses not to participate in the list. Every time someone joins in or there are any corrections made to the list, I will e-mail everyone on the list a new list. The list contains some or all of the following information:

-DIS-name
-E-mail address
-First names, ages if desired, and Occupation of adults
-Pirate Name (if you like...see link in signature)
-First names and ages of children (so the children will know if there are others their age)
-Dining session
-Stateroom #
-Hometown
-Where you are staying night B4 cruise
-Special occasion to be celebrated during cruise (if any)

If there is any info you don't know yet, you can leave it off, and add it later.

Here is the link chrisnglenn was talking about for the customized pirate shirts. There are some cool shirt designs on here that would be great for Pirate Night, if you don't go all out. I hope I can get one big enough for me! Got some update info from a couple of people so I will be working on an update this weekend. So send other changes if you have them.

Well...I paid the TA the balance of the cruise fee today ! Now all I have to do is find transportation from The Bluegrass State to The Sunshine State without spending as much as I did on the cruise itself Can't wait! DD12 is still planning and working on her packing list!!

We got up at 2 a.m. and got Palo brunch and dinner reservations. Our times are off by 30 minutes with my BIL and MIL, but we hope that will be an easy fix...

We also booked the Stingray excursion at CC for 11:00. Family beach 1st, stingrays, then off to Serenity Heaven!!!

Just returned from our Alaska cruise, Holland America's Oosterdam out of Seattle. Used our DVC points. Great cruise the kids took over 1600 pictures. WOW I'm impressed. Will leave a trip report. I will say this, it was not a Disney Cruise, not even close

Hi all! I tried to make ressies Sunday morning, but the TA had not entered our Castaway number on our ressie and it wouldn't let me. ARGH!! Anyway, I called Disney today and straightened it out. I didn't get the Palo night and time I wanted, but we're going the next night, hey-it's a cruise! Might as well relax about it! (Okay, I had to practice that a lot to say it ! )

Samething happened to SIL/BIL (Heir&Spare, if they would ever post anything... ) Disney didn't have thier CC number. Had them down as CC members, but not as repeat cruisers????? Anyway, he got it fixed. You should go ask for the time and night you want, when you get on the ship. They hold back a large percentage of the reservations for people to make when they board the ship. Worth a shot anyway.

Same here! We were exploring websites tonight, and found a cool sounding one in Grand Cayman. Anyone know anything about Jolly Roger Cruises???? They have Pirate cruises on a real, honest to God masted sailing ship. My dream come true!

Iron Roger (Allen) -- the white t-shirts on the Disney t-shirt site come in a comfortable 5x! I'm planning on getting us decked out in them for the daytime, but we're going in costume for the night! Red Christina has a perfectly good red skirt to wear, add a puffy sleeve blouse, a "wench" vest and a parrot for my shoulder, and I'm all set!

So if I understand correctly -- we can do reservations in another 13 days? Hopefully, Disney will have posted our payment by then. Took them almost five weeks to post our deposit!!?!?!?!?!

There was an excursion like that either in Antiga or St. Thomas a couple of years ago. The people that went had a blast!

It's a white shirt for me. 3x is a little small and 4x a little big, so it's a 4x. I think I'm going to get one for the day and one for the party. If you make your own shirt, you can add a phrase. I was trying to put Iron Roger Rackham on the shirt but you can only put 1 name on the Disney shirts.
