October 7, 2006 Western "Latitude Adjustment Cruise"

Today dd actually came to the dinner table for the first time. I prepared dinner at home and took it to her house. dsil was home so we all sat down. She had four bites of meatloaf and half of a baked potato, which we were thrilled to see her eat so much, dw is feeling better about her and will return to work on Monday and I will be able to take over. Looking forward to our Easter cruise, I think I'm more than ready. :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Great news! I'm glad to see she making good progress!

It took me a while to find this post with people going the same time we are. Wow you all have been communicating with each other for some time. Now that the time is coming sooner should we start a roll call?

Below is a post I started this morning. I copied it here just so you'd know a little about us

Possible to Surprise sons with cruise?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I booked our first Disney cruise back in November 2004 for October 2006, hoping we'd have enough money by then to go. I booked the 7-day Western and we got two adjoining SPR's. Scrimping and saving all the way it looks like it's full steam ahead. Oh Yeah!

It will be me, DH, and 3-DS's, age 12 and twins turning 14 the second day of the cruise. Our three sons do not yet know about the cruise and we're hoping to surprise them and are wondering how far can we get with this surprise before they're going to have to know. Has anyone surprised their children with a Disney Cruise? When did they find out and has anyone been able to actually get on board without their kids finding out before hand?

What I'm thinking of doing is: They already know we're going to WDW for 6 nights. We are also planning on seeing the Kennedy Space Center and they know that too. The Magic sails the same day we leave WDW. We'll have a rental car (which unfortunately means we'll have our bags with us) and DH will drop us and the bags off at the Cruise Terminal while he "runs an errand" (returning the car back to the rental company). I've told the boys that I'm going to "look into" seeing if we can get a tour of the Magic while it's in port. Yes I know DCL really can't do that because of security issues but our boys don't know that and I don't think they'd even check on that. I've read here on the boards that one person from the family can go and check everyone in. Is that true? If so I might be able to explain the bags away as it's too soon to check into the hotel and that DCL needs to hold onto them as a security issue. Is any of this possible? Am I just bonkers to think that this could really work?

If anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear them!

Welcome Aboard! :welcome: Now we can add Kentucky to the list of represented states. I got both of your e-mails and will do a list update in a couple of days. I am waiting to hear from twinmom108. If I don't hear from her in a couple of days I will go ahead and do the update and e-mail it to you. My disname doesn't have anything to do with WKU, :teeth: you will understand when we meet. :thumbsup2 I may post a picture at somepoint. We haven't talked about t-shirts yet, but I do have dis green reminderbands for everyone while they last. The say "Latitude Adjustment Cruise" on them. I have large adult size, and a medium child / pre-teen size. If you need a smaller one, Spectrum-turbo has some left over from our cruise last October...the cruise name is different, but who's looking. ;) Anyway bring on those t-shirt ideas and if you want bracelets, just send me your snail mail address along with how many you need and I'll send them to you. It will help us identify each other where ever we may be the night before the cruise or at the port. Come to think of it, so will a t-shirt! BTW, did ya'll get much snow last weekend?? Welcome again,
Allen

57 Days, I can hardly believe it.

Today is the first day of my babysitting my dd who is 29 years old. Her neck and spine have remained the same which is good. I will take her to the specialist in Phila tomorrow. She is now able to feed herself and graduated from chicken soup to most real food, it's still difficult to chew so is limited in what she can eat. I will be really ready for this cruise.

joksten2000 - yall must be so tired but it sounds like your dd is getting better. That's good.

My family got good and bad news yesterday. My sister's cancer is gone. A petscan yesterday was totally negative which is the first time we've heard that in 2 1/2 years. The bad news is this virus called CMV virus is back. She's had it twice already since her cord blood transplant. She has to go on 3 times a day liquid anitbotics and it's most likely going to push back her coming home day. She and my mom are suppose to come home on feb. 25th but it might be the next week after that.

I can't believe how close its getting. And we're adding more people.   so exciting!!!

How do I get 3 armbands?
E-mail or pm me your :snail: mail address, and I'll mail them to you. 2 adult and 1 medium child, right?

I have the list updated, just waiting another day or so to see :magnify: if twinmom108 sends me anything before I email it. More pixiedust to those who need it, it seems to be working as everyone is improving! pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

Welcome to all new to this thread!!! We are so glad you have joined us! :woohoo:

We will have a great time on the cruise! :yay: :yay: :yay:

Twin, the only possible problem I see with surprising the boys is that when you pull into the terminal gates, you have to present all your identification and check off each person in your vehicle before they let you proceed to go into the terminal. When you pull up, they begin unloading your baggage and you'll need to already have the tags on the bags. Maybe someone can help with ways around this??? :confused3

Welcome aboard!!! party:

For those interested, here is a link to the Western Navigators just recently posted, from January. It will give you an idea of what to look for when, and how things are going on the Western.

I saw that and made copies. It will make for some fun reading and planning. :cool1: I didn't see any activities for the teens in those navigators and my twin sons will be turning 14 on our cruise. Did I just miss seeing it?

Also Allen - I sent a pm to you with our information. Sorry it took me so long. Silly me :scratchin I'm not on the boards every day - just wish I was :)

Well, I just realized I didn't actually include the link to the Navigators, So here it is. I just e-mailed everyone the 7th edition of the cruzlist. Long day at work today, 6am to 9pm. See you tommorrow!
