So, we have been thinking about buying a new home, but we need to sell our current home first. We haven't even put our house up for sale yet, so we have not been actively looking for a new house. Well, to make a long story short, the perfect situation kind of fell into our laps, and now we are having a house built for us and have about 5 months to get our house sold
Anyway, we had to sit down and have a family meeting and we had to make a hard decision, we are not going to be going on the October 6th Disney Cruise Madison was pretty upset at first, but she has handled it pretty well and is now focusing on the new bedroom she is going to have in the new house I was so excited for the cruise and I have really enjoyed talking to all of you and reading your posts. We are planning on going on a Disney Cruise in September or October of 2008, so maybe some of you will be on that one! I hope you all have a great time!

i'm starting to get excited about this trip never been on the ocean, never beenon any moving ship. if we can talk her into it DGM will be there too. she has always wanted to do a cruise, but is afraid she will hold us back from having fun. i'm no spring chicken at 63 . thats what i have to get her to realize. got a job to do, but i really think she would enjoy the experience.

I have created one door sign magnet for the board members. I can make changes and we can modify it for each person.

THANKS!! I would be glad to produce art for all but I am hoping more people design because someone else may be able to come up with a better one. I figure if we have a few to pick from we will all be happy!! I am going to do at least one more but I haven't had time so far. We do have 5 months to decide... but I just can't seem to stop!! Lots of DISboarders meet around 3pm for a quick meet and greet, get to see what everyone really looks like, and then other meets through out the cruise. You all will be amazed how often we run into each other just walking around!!!!

Other options for a meet and greet time The Sail Away party. I reccomend deck 10 for that.... lots of space to meet, and a great view of the show. And not as jam packed as downstairs.

Sea days also provide plenty of opportunities to hook up. We could all plan a lunch together or something.

Last cruise I went on, we all hung out in the same area on CC also.

As I like to say... Why hang out with strange strangers when you can hang out with weird ones!

Now I know I mentioned a lot of meets, and this isnt an all or nothing kind of a thing... I would hope everyone could make it to the sail away party as a big group (big photo op! lol) just because it helps with face recognition for the rest of the cruise.

Can't remember if I've posted here and I don't have time to review gazillion pages to see but we're joining the fun.

Our second DCL cruise and Chris and Julia's first.
We'll be meeting DD and her husband, CMs on the Magic, for some family time when they aren't working and rest, relaxation and fun time when they are.

FYI, rdy2bpampered, on our last DCL cruise in 2004 we had my 80 somethings mom and aunt along. They had a ball and we really enjoyed having them with us. As long as your DGM is healthy and mobile, she should have a fine time.

Or maybe a lunch together......CC in the same place is great too. But my family is a bunch of dancing fools - we will be on Deck 9 dancing during the sailaway party.

The sail away party is where we all met on our last voyage....I have to agree with Laura, as it was nice to meet people in the beginning. From that point on we were able to feel like we recognized (and got to know) people for the rest of the cruise. Things get pretty hectic with everyones schedules for the rest of the cruise.

Anything works for me -- since this is our first time we will follow the lead of those more experienced... I can't wait to meet everyone.. But then I can't wait for a lot of things... impatient is my middle name!!

Thanks for the words of encouragment... We actually got the greenlight from her Dr. (2)- Monday for the trip!! AND.. Sunday (4-22-07) was her 86th birthday!!

Lime green is the DIS board color...in the past people have had shirts made (in lime green) to wear at sail away that identify them as DIS'ers. I was looking into having one made that people could order (if they want) but I really don't want to be in charge of everyone's as it can be problematic. So, I was thinking that maybe I (or someone else) could design one on a website like zazzle.com and people could order the design as they wish. Just a thought...

I am not sure about the whole matching t-shirt thing, but how about BUTTONS? Easy to pin on before the meet, and we could wear them through out the cruise if so desired...

I have a few designs I have been kicking around for them, I will post some once I tweek them a bit.

What's nice about them, is they are portable. We can put them on each day if we like... attach them to our back packs... stuff like that.
