**@@** October 6th, 2007 Magic**@@**

OK, why can't I post pictures or send PM's? Do I have to be a member for a certain amount of time before it will let me? My daughter has been chatting on the kids thread and she really wants to post a pic of herself so the kids will recognize her on the boat. She is having so much fun talking to the kids!:)

We are just noticing it alot now with Jordan at the age of ten. OH, and the attitudes...ick! And what is with the boys wanting their hair long now? I feel like I am back in the 70's!

Anyway, I hope all is well with you. Only 9 more weeks of school (good for you, bad for the rest of us, lol) We are going on a cruise (not DCL) to Alaska in June and it will be so weird to be on any other ship! I will be looking forward to the reprive from the heat though so that is all I care about!

Let's see about getting all us Chandler people together again (as well as some of our new fellow Chandler cruisers). Maybe after school lets out?

Talk to ya soon!

YES - My DS has discovered attitude - Unfortunately for us he found a bad one and seems to have misplaced his good one. It is odd - when he is moody - it is horrid but then five minutes later - he is the sweetest brother in the world (and that is also newly discovered - if you recall he never excepted the fact she stayed with us for more than a few days - kept asking us to return her to the hospital. We thought that he would grow to love his Sis - well, 6 years later we may have reached that stage!!!!)
Last quarter of school. I have mixed emotions on that - the good is - Yea!!! Alomost the next school year which means it is getting closer to the cruise. Yes you understand me correctly, I am not excited for summer break, I am excited for the proximity to fall break!!! The sad is I will miss my students. I taught them well and they are ready for 1st grade but I am not ready to let them go. They are a very special group of kiddos and with the new school opening, 7 of my kids will be switching schools, so I will not even get to see them in the hallway.

Yes lets get together again. It is so fun to catch up and it makes the kids club easier to venture into that first time when you realize you already have friends!

Ohh, by the way, how is the golf club coming. With the changing weather is attendance rising of dropping.... How are you liking it now that the new is starting to wear off. It sounds like the perfect business although I am sure the headaches in every business are popping up. I hope the good is better than the work!!!

I can completely relate to how fast the babies turn into big kids......It seems like just yesterday that Lizzie was in kindergarten - and now she looks like such a big girl......and she still looks for you every day in the hallway and cafeteria. We're lucky, because her big brother is very patient with her (most of the time :-) He is into the longer hair thing, and I hate it too!!! He is also as tall as I am already - even tho that doesn't say too much since I barely clear 5 feet! I really miss the baby days, but these are some really fun years too. Hard to believe that we're in the last quarter and Summer is almost here. Next year I'll have a junior high schooler........holy cow! I'm not ready!! Hope everybody has a great week!

Our Golf Club is doing well...thanks for asking. We are extremely busy and things are really (finally) starting to feel a little less crazy for us. It was such a learning curve time for us and Ryan and I feel like we are finally getting into a groove. We are having our schools annual golf tournament at our club this year so that should be a lot of fun. We are also going to be doing an EXTENSIVE remodel this summer which I am really excited about. Our restaurant will be awesome as we have hired a really great executive chef and the decor is really hip and cool. I'll keep you posted and maybe even get some pics once we start construction.

Is everyone here doing door signs? I am excited to make mine. Just another thing to do to make the time go by a little bit faster I guess :) Is everyone going to put up something for the Dis boards on their door too? Once I have some of my signs made I will try to post them.

We are definitely doing the door signs. I am planning on putting our user name on the sign to help identify who we are. What do the rest of you think?

::thumbsup2

I think that we should all put some kind of Dis-boards sign up with our user names. Some of the other "meet" groups are voting on which sign to put up and they are all doing the same one. Here is an example of one from another thread that they used on a past cruise:

I would give credit where credit is due, if I could remember where I found this one . If there is anyone creative and good at stuff like this, maybe they can create an original one for our group:)

I like the idea of a specialized magnet for us. Could we have members submit their ideas then we vote on it? Like 1 month before the cruise make our decision? Just an idea...??? :cool2: :dance3: :yay:

Yes, I have a designer background and love doing this kind of thing!:upsidedow :upsidedow

I think that is a great idea! So, I guess whenever someone comes up with one, they can just display here. I may make an attemp. I am creative, but also not very good at doing stuff like that on the computer :confused3

I am also interested in who all is going to be hanging a "fish extender". I have been looking for one on ebay, but can't find one with the right dimensions. It has to be no more than 8" wide to fit and all of the ones I have found are like 14" wide. I think that it is a fun idea, and it will be fun to buy little gifts for everyone:) My daughter is loving the kids thread, and she really wants to buy gifts for her new "friends".

My computer crashed and I lost alot of info.!! I need to know what the web sites are for the disney clip art. My oldest son downloaded some music and it had a virus attached and so goes the rest of the story:sad:
I can not believe my first Disney Cruise is only 5 months away. I have been dreaming of this for years. I am already working on getting swim suit ready.:goodvibes :goodvibes I have a bag that I put stuff in that I buy for the trip. It is so full already. I think I will have to have a suit case just for the stuff.:cool1: My kids have been saving their money for the cruise and 2 of them have over $100 each the other is to busy spending his. I think he is banking on his granddad going and not needing his money:confused: !!! There are 12 people in our group now. My best friend and her husband and their twin girls are going with us. The funny thing is ,this will be the FIRST Disney anything that they have ever done. Her girls will be 4 1/2 when we go. I can not wait to see their faces when they see Mickey!!! They love to come to my house and see all the Photos of Mickey.
:mickeyjum I need to get to know some of you Disers before the cruise. I can not wait to meet people that are as crazy as me!!!:rotfl2: Everyone that I know just thinks I am a Disney nut!!!! I just can not help it. I was born this way. I even had all the Disney Characters on my wall paper when I was a baby. Ok I need to get ready to go do Salsa At the YMCA.;) :wishten

I am the queen of door signs!

Last Cruise I made us a group sign it went something like this...

Why hang out with Strange Strangers when you can hang out with weird ones! I cant find the graffics on it, must be on my other computer! lol

I do like the Dis on board sign!

That is a great door sign. I'm still not sure what our's is going to say yet.

Just wondering, but what's a fish extender??

Well, this is my first Disney Cruise, but after reading the board for hours  I found that there is a fish shaped "hook" outside of every state room and a lot of people bring a fabric 5 pocket organizer and hang it there for fellow Disers to leave little notes and things. I have yet to find one that will work. You can find out more about it if you do a search on these boards for "fish extender". :)

Don't know why, but have been paying more attention to our WB Panama Repo cruise of late.

Posted a really bad trip report on the thread over there about our Princess cruise over Spring Break. We had a great time . . . . . but that had to do with the ports and spending time together as a family. Won't ever do a Princess cruise again!! Wouldn't recommend one either - that is if you have children and have cruised with Disney before.

With that said, we mentioned that one of our ports was Cozumel, which is a port for this cruise. To be honest, it only ranks above Nassau for the ports we've been to. It was fun, it just seemed to be missing something, at least in our opinion. We went to Paradise Beach and had fun playing in the water. It is a really nice facility and can be done on your own for a less of a cost than with Disney. The beach is small, crowded, and has alot of rocks/cement blocks in the water. We are now thinking of doing the Dolphin swim (which you can do on your own) on this cruise in October. We went to Delphinus in Costa Maya on the Princess cruise and had a blast. We have heard the one in Cozumel is even better. If you do this as part of an excursion, there are age limits. If you do it on your own, we were told three years olds can participate. Our four year old went along in Costa Maya and had so much fun. Below are some pictures they may or may not help:

This is just our favorite photo from our trip. Our youngest daughter Kayla, brought a little Disney to a small island off of Belize.

OH MAN! We are going to Alaska in June on Princess and now I am scared! We are so used to DCL and so are our kids. I hope the fact that it is Alaska will make it a little easier that we are going on Princess. It is a totally different type of itinerary so I am hoping that we won't be disappointed. Is it that the ships aren't as nice? Or that the crew isn't as warm? Is it just the general lack of Disney all together? Oh well, what will be, will be. It's still a getaway all the same. Thanks for sharing your experience. Good advice and wonderful pics!

You know, it is just what you make of it. We were on the Grand Princess. It may vary from ship to ship. The Grand was nice enough as far as the ship goes. Part of it was being charged for everything (soda, ice cream . . . . . ) the list is long. With Disney, the upfront cost is more, but pretty much everything is included. You have an idea of what the main cost is going to be. The main thing is the service. Basically, it was HORRIBLE! Not a single person seemed to care. You aren't made to feel that you are really welcome. Could go into detail, but it would be long. You have to ask for everything, nothing is offered up front. Even simple things like a refill of your drink. No hello's, thank you's, have a nice day. The Kid's Club for the age group our daughter's fall in, is a complete joke. They went for a total of one hour! Frustrating would be the perfect feeling for OUR experience.

If you are there to just enjoy yourself and spend time with your family, you will have a great time. It's a vacation, how can it not be good.
