**@@** October 6th, 2007 Magic**@@**

Ooohh...I want pictures!!! I would love to go to CA just once. I hope the weather was good for you guys. Can't wait to read the trip report.

I'm just excited that our students have only 8 more days. Yeah!!!! Tonight I had a FRUSTRATING phone conversation with a student's mom. I called her b/c the girl had called my house four times from her cell phone and hung up each time I answered. (The girl actually seems to like me, emails me all the time, wants to stay after class and talk) I think she was just being silly, but mom didn't want to believe that her daughter would call like that, until I proved it by redialing her number from caller ID on my cell and letting her hear the message from her daughter's phone. THe girl finally admitted that she had called to get help on her math project, but was too "scared" to talk to me. Yeahhh, right!

She then launched into this huge tirade about another girl that is supposedly bullying her daughter. Well, it's six of one and half a dozen of the other as far as I'm concerned, but the mom doesn't believe that her angel would do anything to instigate this problem. If she could only see and hear her at school...Lord have mercy, lol.

Okay..Lori...that's enough venting for now. Enjoy the unpacking..or just do what I do and live out of the suitcase until it's empty, lol.

Good to hear from you again! Where are all the October 07 "sailors"???

Lori P. :)

We're under 500!!! We're under 500!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I'm also excited because school's almost over. I'm sooo looking forward to not getting up so early in the morning. It will be nice to have time to work on my house as well.

Hey, Laura, do you know anything about the Disney Reward Card? I wonder if I can apply the dollars I have on that toward my cruise.

Talk to you later!

Lori P. :)

Yes I do think you can use reward dollars towards the cruise, if not then for ship board credit. I can imgaine the stink everyone would make if you couldnt, and since I smelled nothing about this, I think your good to go!

School has ended!!! Today was the last day!!! WOOOOT!!!

Tomorrow we sleep late, go to a bowling party, and are having a sleep over. Fun! Saturday is filled with soccer game, end of year soccer picnic then on to family's house for 8 th grade graduation party! whew! nothing planned for Sunday and lots of sleeping in the next week. (I hope I hope) Camp starts late and is only for two hours a day. I nice break for me since all three kids are going. Woot!

A few weeks ago I found out that this past years big ITBS testing was the same week in Oct as our cruise and I freaked. It took many phone calls to finally find out if they even had a clue when they would be in 2007 lol. Turns out hey have decided to go with the 4th week in September and we were given the go ahead to make plans... YAY! So that is why I have been quite over here... I thought my dream was going to be crushed! lol

In two weeks I leave for a girls trip to WDW. I really need some fun and rest, away from the kids. Cant wait! It is the rest before the BIG road trip, two weeks after we get back.

What are your summer plans?

I am making a payment this week, so I have been thinking a lot about the cruise... lol Can you tell?

Can't beleive this thread was started over 100 days ago!! Time is zoom zoom zooming by!

Hey!!! ANYONE ELSE OUT THERE???

I just switched from the 5/06 sailing to this one. This date works out better with the kids school/dance/religion schedule. I just hope the weather and the seas in October will be as great as it has on our past May cruises.

Hey Laura!!! Good to hear from you :)

I've not checked this board for a while as you can see. Now that you're living the "free life", I'll check more often, lol.

Married2grumpy, welcome!!! We have plenty of time to get acquainted.

I love summertime. It hasn't taken me long to get used to getting up at 9:00. It's going to be hard to get back into the 5:15 am thing in August (teachers go back Aug. 3 :guilty:) The only good thing about that is that it puts us closer to our cruise

Hey! The making of WDW is on the History channel. Yeah!!! My DH was flipping channels, saw what was on and just stopped and threw me the remote. I guess he knows the way to my heart, lol.

I'll write more later, gotta watch TV.

Our only other cruise was end of September 2005.... It was hot and humid, but lovely in the water, and the seas were calm. (those days anyway)

Glad you found us. I look forward to getting to know you all better! How old are you kids? Mine are 7, 5, 3 or 8,5,4 at sailing... lol Two oldest are girls... :-)

I am digging sleeping in too.... we leave for Hilton Head Island next week and we are all very excited! We are driving and that makes me a littl nervous, but hopfully between the movies, games, and songs I have planned the kids will do ok.

It will be myself, DH and our 3 children: (ages at time of sailing) DD 10, Ds 8 and DD 7. I think my MIL will be joining us as well.

Wow my kids sound so old when I have to age them like that!!! My oldest DD will just turn 10 right before we cruise and my youngest DD will turn 7 the day we set sail. My DS will be 9 that December.

We don't mind hot and humid weather that is one of the reasons why we chose early October. We figured the seas will still be warm that time of year too. Plus, the kids will only miss 4 days of school since Columbus Day is that week.

We can't wait to get back on that ship! :teeth:

My DS will be 9 that December.

I have a 9 year old DS as well. Actually, I guess he'll be 10 on the cruise. My oldest son will celebrate his 12th birthday the day after we sail, and my other sons will be 6 and right at 8 (his birthday is late October).

If any of your kids want to correspond before the trip, let me know. My 9 year old, especially, loves to socialize. He would be excited to know someone before the trip.

Laura, I hope your trip to Hilton Head is a blast. I've never been there. Lots for the kids to do?

My DH were able to go to Pigeon Forge, TN this past weekend...BY OURSELVES!!! The oldest three went camping, and my youngest stayed with a friend. We thought about going to Dollywood, but ending up just eating out, reading, taking naps and walking around Gatlinburg. It was soooo relaxing.

I'm noticing that I will be the newbie to the Magic of our little group. We did a four night in Oct. 05 and loved it so much that we booked a 7night. I am loving the thought of a whole week on the ship. There are so many more things to do as well, it seems.

I guess I need to get off the computer, I'm trying to be ready to have a garage sale next Sat. Don't want to, but this debt must be paid off before I start saving for our cruise. Stupid credit cards...or I guess I should say "stupid me" for using the "stupid credit cards". :p

Lori P. :)

HAPPY 4TH!!!! :cheer2:

How did you guys spend your 4th of July? I had a grand ole' time cleaning out my garage and pricing items for a garage sale that I'm having this Saturday. <crossing my fingers for no rain>

My DH did bbq some chicken, and I made corn on the cob and baked beans, so we ate well. It's actually relaxing to just stay here and listen to all the people around us lighting their fireworks (as long as they stop by midnight, lol)

I guess we celebrated last night. We down to the riverfront downtown Chattanooga. We were going to watch our minor league baseball team, but they were sold out so we ended up watching Nacho Libre instead. We then walked down to the river and watched both the fireworks from the ballgame and the ones that the city does. Beautiful!!!

Talk to you later!
Lori P. :)

Hi everyone! We are booked on the 10/6/07 Magic as our very first cruise ever! I'm so excited! DH & I are celebrating our 15th anniversary next year (in June, but didn't want a Med cruise). Our cast, with ages at travel time, includes me(36), DH(36), DD(9), and DS(6).

And HI, momm2four, we live "up the road" in Maryville, TN. I grew up in Fort Payne, AL, and spent a lot of time in Chattanooga growing up. Went to several concerts at the UTC Roundhouse. We still go through Chattanooga on our way back to visit my family.

We booked our cruise in March, but I've been so consumed with planning our Oct. 2006, trip to WDW that I haven't focused much on the cruise. Now that I have all of that trip planned, I'm thinking more about cruisin'! Can't wait!

I look forward to getting to know you guys before we set sail next year!

Christy

Hi Christy!!! So nice to "see" another face. So, is the October 06 trip to WDW? I would love to go back in Oct. We cruised Oct. 05 and went to WDW right after that. We loved MNSSHP and hope to do it again next year either after or before our cruise.

What grade will your children be in this year? My boys will be in 5th, 4th, 1st and K. They'll all be in one school for one year. Here's an updated list.

Tell your DH I said ROLL TIDE!!!!! I've been a Bama fan all my life. It's hard being up here in the middle of "Big Orange Country" but I get by. The few of us up here stick together!

Yes, my Oct. '06 trip is to WDW. We're doing a split stay with 3 nights at the WL and 6 nights at the BCV. It's our first time at each of these resorts, so we are very excited. We're doing MNSSHP for the first time. Our last trip two years ago, DS had just turned 3 and was too young, we thought, to be able to stay very long at the party.

For your roll call, we'll be in room 2106.

My DD will be in 3rd grade this year. My DS, who turns 5 in September, will be attending a K-Readiness class at preschool, which is 2 days/week. He could go to Kindergarten this year, but I don't want him in school for a month before he even turns 5. Too young, I think.

I look forward to getting to know ya'll!

My DH was actually born in Birmingham, AL. His dad's side of the family comes from Ward, AL (heard of that?), so he and his dad are Tide fans. His aunt's family just went on a Alabama cruise (thru Carnival?). Mike Schula and some of the Bama players were on it. We wanted to go, but just didn't have the funds to swing that cruise and next year's too.

I don't blame you for holding your son back. I teach school, and I have never taught a child for which I thought, "Boy, this kid should have started school earlier", but I have had kids that I thought the opposite of. I have two sons who have October birthdays, and it's nice that they're some of the oldest kids in their class. I don't think you'll regret it.

My DH just told everyone to go get in the van, so he must have something planned. Talk to you later!

Lori P. :)

We all know how busy life gets.....
I am enjoying being a SAHM, though I am having trouble with managing my time....
Glad to see there are some more people joing us...
I can also add some more people though they have not joined us on the message board....
In a cat 5 somewhere...I don't know there room number is my brother David and His wife Cori...The Caveat to this is that they are thinking about having a baby and if they get pregnant there will be a sixmonth window where they can't come on the cruise (the last trimester and then I believe the baby must be 12 weeks to cruise)
Next door to us is 8034 is my friends from college Tom and Mary...They have a daugter Caitlin who is almost 8 and a daugher Megan who is 2.5. They are also having a baby boy this summer.
I also have invited two other familes to join us, though they are not definite yet and depending on my finances, I might pay for our friend Linda to join us. Both of my parents have passed away and Linda is like my kids grandmother.
MarriedtoGrumpy - where in Long Island are you? We are in Port Washington!

I will keep in touch.
Debbie

Debbie,
Good to hear from you! Let me know about the other possible families and I'll add them to our cast. :)

I think Laura is in Hilton Head now, so it may be a while before we hear from her. Hope she's having fun!

Well, I have put off cleaning my house long enough, so I'm going to pry my fingers from this keyboard and let my son have a turn so I won't be tempted to get back on. (Of course, there's always the laptop which is portable...NO! NO! I must clean or they will come and take my children away...)
