**@@** October 6th, 2007 Magic**@@**

Almost to October!!!!

It'll be soooo nice when we get below a year. Then we can say,"In October, we're cruising," instead of saying NEXT October.

I'm excited, but getting a little nervous, since that means the deadline for paying this off will be closer. I did start a math club after school twice a week, which will give me an $2000 for our cruise. Right now, I'm asking if it's worth it, b/c it's just more planning and staying later after school, but I guess in June, when I get the check it'll be worth it. I also agreed to mentor a new teacher at school which is another $1000. We're friends, so I would have helped her anyway, but now I get paid to do it, lol.

Soooo..I've got half of the cruise paid for, I just have to get the other half. :)

Talk to you guys later!

Lori P. :)

I will be in WDW at the 1 year mark :thumbsup2

Cant wait!!! Cant wait!!!

Also at the 1 year mark is if offically ok to start scouring the DIS DCL boards.... Of course I have UNoffically been scouring them for quite sometime. :-)

I have taken on two jobs, but neither pay... lol

I am the New Daisy Scout leader for my 5 yo, and Co- Leader for my 7 year olds Browine troop! Little bit freaked out, but doing well so far!! lol

Ok off to bed for me... early soccer game tomorrow!

Laura,
Looks like you're getting a Disney Fix this weekend! Hope you enjoy MNSSHP! We went last year for the first time and had a BLAST!!!

What kind of weather is everyone having. Here in Chattanooga, it's unpredictable. One day it's 75, then it's 85, then who knows! I do love Fall though. The mountains of TN and the changing leaves makes for the most beautiful scenery.

Gotta go clean the house. The boys have two soccer games, a baseball game and a football game today, so I need to get that done before they start.

Later,
Lori P. :)

Yes we leave tomorrow! I am VERY Excited. Nothing like spending your birthday at WDW!!! And as strange as it sounds I am also excited to hit the 1 year mark while at WDW.... lol

DH took dd to the early soccer game this morning... and I have to take the other DD to her game this afternoon... she is also snack person this week, so I need to go grab snacks....

But first I have to print out all our flight stuff and finish packing!

We should be getting some more people to this thread soon... There HAS to be more DISers on the best date for a 7 day cruise in OCt!!! lol

Ok... off to do mom stuff

just checking in...got off the Sept 30th eastern today and rebooked this cruise on board. We are DH, DW (me), DD18, DD15, DS10, and DD7. It will be our 2nd western and 5th DCL. I look forward to a whole year of cruise planning. I am still on vacation, but will check in when I get home.

Jennifer

Cool - some more folks from Arizona!

On the 11 night Southern Carribean cruise we met a family from Glendale. Live only about 15 minutes away from one another and we meet in Barbados!

Cool! More people!!! I cant beleive we are under the year mark! WOOT!!! In 2 days I need to book our Poly Luau for Disembarkment day...

I cant wait... CANT WAIT!!!! (can this excitement level last for a whole year.... YUP!)

It also looks like we have a lot of kids around the same age! YAY!

Is it too early to talk about Pirate Night?? We will be in full pirate gear... I bought the kids costumes big enough to use again on this cruise (we did a 3 day in Sept 05) Last time we passed out gold coins and pirate tattoos to anyone who wanted them, really added to the fun of the night. Although I kind of felt a teeny tiny bit ackward eating in Tritons in Pirate gear... it all worked out.

Oh and I wanted to toss out Linking our dining reservations so we are all seated next to each other.... Lot of DISers do it... What is everyone's thoughts about that?? I mean we all have to eat... we would be sitting next to people when we eat... why not each other??

Ok off to catch up on mail from our trip...

Welcome Jennifer! I'll update the list a little later.

Laura, as far as linking the dinner reservations, I'm game if you guys don't mind sitting next to four boys who may or may not be perfectly behaved at all times, lol. (Actually, they hardly ate with us on the last cruise, they LOVED the clubs.) We are doing the late dining time though. Anyone else doing that one?

I'll be glad to get back home. We've driven from Chattanooga, TN to Hershey, PA to Gettysburg, PA to Washington, DC to Ahoskie, NC, going to Suffolk, VA tomorrow and then heading back to Chattanooga on Saturday. Whew! I need a vacation from my vacation!

At least when I go back to work on Monday, I'm giving a quarterly pretest, so I can get some work done at my desk.

Catch up with you guys later!

Hi all, back from vacation. We had a great time, did the DCL cruise followed by another week in FL visiting relatives and then back to Orlando for MNSSHP before heading home. Weather was perfect the whole trip with low humidity in FL - just like us Arizonans like it :thumbsup2 .

There will probably be quite a few of us from AZ booked this week as many school districts have off. I know of at least one other family (possibly 2) from Chandler that was on the 9/30 rebooked for 10/06/2007.

Jennifer

Jennifer,
glad that you made it back safe and sound. We got back into Chattanooga this morning around 2 a.m. Had to make a pit stop at the emergency room, because my DH came down with the flu over our 11 hour drive and that along with simply being cramped up in the car caused his chest to start hurting. He was a little scared, so we had him checked out, but flu was the diagnosis. What a way to end a vacation!

I'm sitting here drinking hot chocolate and am looking around at all the cleaning I need to do. Maybe if I pretend it's not there, it'll go away, lol. Probably what will happen is that after church, my in-laws will drop by to check on my DH. They probably already think I'm the worst housekeeper in the south, why spoil their image of me? ;)

Okay guys, we're under a year away....let the planning begin!!!

Lori (((Hugs))) to your DH... how scary. If your DH is anything like mine when they finally admit they feel bad, it's bad. Glad it was just the flu, hope he feels better really soon. (and better to get sick at the end of a vacation than at the begining)

Now onto PLANNING!!! We are trying to figure out where we are staying before and after the cruise and how we will get to the port and back... Also what dining rotation we would like.... If I can talk DH into a suit I would like to be in Tritons (is it Tritons on the Magic.. hmmm) on formal night... If I cant talk him into a suit, then I dont want to be in tritons on formal night LOL

I didn't know that you could pick your dining rotation. Oh great...another thing to worry about, lol

If we link together for dinner, I guess that means we'd all have the same rotation, right? Are you guys early or late dining? We did late on the Wonder in 2005, and I liked it.

We liked the place we stayed before the cruise last year, now if I can just remember where we stayed... :rotfl: I'd like to either go a day or so earlier or stay a day later and hit MNSSHP next year, so maybe I'll splurge and stay onsite at WDW.

Oh, it's my understanding that now, you are given a number that determines when you board. Do early arrivers get the earlier boarding numbers or is it random?

Lori P. :)

We are in a Cat. 2 and that affords us some favors such as asking them to change out dining rotation... which of course doesnt lend it's self to linking very well, so I guess we would opt to link over picking our rotation :-)

I do feel that our family works better with the early dining... but then part of me thinks feed the kids in the room, go to the show, they head off to the kids clubs and DH and I eat a lovely uninterupted dinner.... UGH but early dinner then the shows allows us to digest before maybe hitting the clubs while the kids are in the kids clubs.... 6 in one hand 1/2 dozen in the other... lol around and around I go.

Momm2four: Even if you don't have a suite you can request a dining rotation. (it's not guaranteed of course but they will do their best.) A couple weeks ago we had the early dinner and got 5:30 which is the earliest of the early. We did not like it as it was always a rush to get to dinner, I plan on requesting the 6:00 rotation for the 10/6 cruise. However by the time the cruise rolls around I might even change to late seating (and then I would request 8:00 - the earliest of the late)

Jennifer

Hi All-

So busy from still "recovering" from our 9/30 eastern (with Jen), that I didn't think to pop over here. Plus, I am still visiting our "old" thread. Thanks for the reminder Jen!

We are one of the families that Jen was referring to that lives in Arizona that also booked onboard. This will be our 3rd DCL cruise and can't imagine ever stopping! We are also looking into purchasing a Disney Vacation Club place at Saratoga Springs. We'll see......

We are booked in cat 3. I am really bummed that "our" room is currently taken but we are on the wait list in case it opens.....crossing fingers..... :worried: We are:
Cindy (me)
Ryan (DH)
Jordan (DS-10)
Cameron (DD-6)

We are also cruising with some good friends of ours that we actually met on this last cruise. We had such a good time together that we booked and linked res's. We will be late seating with whatever lands us in Lumiere's on formal night.

Well, can't wait to see who else will join us here that we already know and can't wait to meet the rest of y'all! Jen-did Shirley book?
Cindy

Cindy,
I checked the other thread today and indeed she did rebook for 10/6/07 :thumbsup2. Someone else from 9/30 rebook also??
Jennifer

Hi Cindy! I hope you don't mind, but I added your family to the last cast list. I don't want to take up the whole thread. Does anyone know how I can post this list to a site somewhere and provide a link for us to click on?

Looks like our cast is growing by leaps and bounds! :teeth:

INTEREST SURVEY:

On your last cruise, how much contact did you have with other DISboard members?

My answer:

There were only about 6 of us, and we met briefly before the Sail Away party to get a picture and get to know faces. We didn't really talk during the cruise, except I saw one member win at Bingo, and another couple went on the galley tour with me.

I guess this is why I would love to link up with someone at dinner, b/c I felt it would have been more fun to have other people at other tables to interact with. I love my DH, my mom and step-dad, but having new "folks" to talk to is always interesting.
