There is almost NO availability for that weekend! I know it's Columbus Day weekend (and food & wine which is why we're going), but jeez! The other weekend I'd like to go is Oct. 20-22, much more available then, but might be harder to take off the 22nd vs. the 8th. Should I just wait and hold out hoping something opens up for that weekend or is likely to stay pretty booked up?

That Monday is also Thanksgiving in Canada, and some schools may also have a fall break during that time.

Ugh yikes, I'm going to push for the 20-22 then, thanks!

Yep, it's our fall break, and Columbus Day. I know A LOT of people around here going to Disney that week. We are among them. It's actually the week most of the kids from DGDs school go to Disney. Not Spring Break or Summer but Fall Break. (we go all 3)

It's also that huge IT Symposium (starts with a G)

Our fall break (8 hours away) and DS (coach) is taking his team to WWOS to compete (50 of his kids) and they are staying at POP. Busy weekend!

Plus for me: I plan to go and stay in his room for free!!

There’s also a very large Gartner conference.
That's the one I was thinking of, IT group that starts with a G

They will eventually return some of their rooms. I've already seen availability at Swan and Dolphin open up for that weekend

Is it typically busier the week prior or week of Columbus Day and is the fall break for schools the week prior or week of? We are going down Oct. 10-14.

I am coming from Kentucky the week prior and it’s my kids fall break (9/29-10/6). Touring plans shows low crowds with crowd level 1 on some party days at Magic Kingdom and crowd level 6 in non party days.

Ours has always been the week of Columbus day

Actually the Gartner conference is October 14-18 this year. I think they moved it up this year. When we originally booked I thought it would not interfere with our trip but since they changed the date it will. We are in Disney October 14-20.

Another southern school fall break family here.

We went that late Wed-Mon last year. Thursday was great, Fri-Mon were pretty stout.

Had a heck of a time booking a resort room last year so not surprised to hear similar this year.
