October 5, 2008 Wonder Cruise!

Yellowfish, we will be swiming with you and the stingrays. Immediately after, we are going on the glass bottom boat ride. While in Nassau we wanted to do the historic city tour (the Junkaroo tour) but for some reason it is not being offered on our cruise, so we are doing the scenic harbor cruise. I have my Palo brunch for 1030, so we are set!:thumbsup2

Which day are you doing your Palo brunch? Ours is at 10:30 on Wednesday so we may see you there. We haven't planned any activities yet for Nassau. We were thinking about the Pirate Museum and maybe one of the tours but it all depends on how much walking I'll be able to do by October.

Did we ever decide on a place to meet on the ship for a mini DIS meet?
I don't think we did. I know on prior cruises we had a spot inside the terminal and then top deck but some of the children wanted to be down where the action was. We'll need to figure this out soon.

My Palo Brunch is Wed. I can only do activities with limited walking ecause of health issues.

I totally agree that we need a dis meet. We are coming down to FLA on Sat am...I hope to be around PC by 6pm..that is the plan anyway...we will see how that goes.

DH will be doing the beer and martini tastings and YES I agree they are spaced way too close together. He'll be no good to me that night. I'd like to try for the wine tasting.

Has anyone thought of trying to do Fish extenders? If anyone wants to I could work on a list of names and room numbers. We really enjoyed doing them on the 2007 Member cruise.

Does everyone have a green mickey head for their door?
Anyone else doing magnets or door decorations. i worked on several for the girls last night with free trial versions of Paintshop and Printshop. I'll try to upload them later.

ok...i am bad...i dont have green mickey heads and dont even have a clue as to how to do a door sign...what is the fish ext?

I wonder why the Junkaroo tour isn't being offered? Have you tried to look on your own and see if it's offered on the side outside of DCL excursions? I'm sure if you visited cruisecritic or cruisemate they might have suggestions!

I'd LOVE to do the wine tasting but it looked to be the same time as the beer tasting - unless beer will only take 45 minutes. (Boy - those are too close together!) Maybe we can drop the men off at the beer tasting and the women off at the wine tasting...:confused3 though that is a Tuesday and I'm not sure if Bob and I will be back in time for the beer/wine tasting...
I don't have a green mickey head for the door, but plan on doing the Mickey ears around the "porthole", and a few door magnets. (Don't forget to put your room number somewhere on the front so they don't get "borrowed" for others doors!)
Not sure about Fish Extenders - I'm not that creative and not sure about packing - though I do have some great ideas on what to pass out... :rolleyes1

There's a thread on the Cruise Board on magnets and fish extenders. :-) If you can't find them, post here and we'll post a link.
Have you ever seen the fish that is next to the door on the wall? DCL employees leave notes ect for you there. A fish extender is just some fabric that you hang to "extend the fish" so there are more pockets!

We have ours! Since we are close to Niagara Falls, I made Bob get his a while ago. I've had mine since my last cruise.

We'll see you at brunch! Ours is at 11:30am too!

I think our 11:30am arrival will work out wonderfully - the "DISboards" crowd will be gone, people will just start to be boarding and the lines should be just right! :thumbsup2

Anyone doing matching shirts for arrival day? (We are cheesy - I know! We'll also be in Bride and Groom Ear baseball hats!)

Some onboard things that we might be doing - will we see anyone at any of these?
Sunday: Match your Mate
Monday: nothing interesting during the day for us here...
Tuesday: Beer Tasting and Martini Tasting! (You think they'd space these out more! :faint: ) Might not make the beer tasting - we'll still be on the island.
Wednesday: Cooking Demostration

Did I miss something? Where did you find all of the things that will be done each day? Some of the people (DH and BFs DH) in my party may want to do the tastings :drinking1

Where we will meet on Sunday? How many people are interested in doing so? Annmarie

I'm game for a meet! Not sure if we'd be able to make a meet at the port before all you early birds get on the ship. Anyone have ideas once on the ship? By the pool bar? Deck 7 balcony?

at the member cruise last year we were able to meet up on the upper deck around the family pool. we chose 3pm because by then everyone had settled in their room, it was before the lifeboat drill and sendoff party. By 3 usually everyone is onboard.

just a thought. i could bring extra green mickey heads for cabin doors if anyone wants one.

Hello! My boyfriend and I will be joining everyone on this cruise! Thank God I found this site otherwise I would have missed out on all the reservations that I needed to get. I've been on a cruise to Alaska and I remember you could make all the reservations on the day you board so I thought the same was true for this. I was very wrong. However I managed to get everything and I'm sure it will all work out.

Anyway, a little about us: I'm Courtney,23, and my boyfriend is Doug, 23. We are from Seattle, Wa. I grew up in California and was a big believer in the original Disneyland being better because it was first. A little stubborn part of me still believes that, but I understand that Disney World is a whole other World. I finally went for the first time last year and I am glad that I experienced Disneyland first, other wise I would have just been disappointed.

Doug has been often and is an alum of the Disney College Program. This is both of ours first Disney Cruise.

We will be celebrating our third anniversary of dating on October 2nd while at the theme parks. I'm really excited, and am having a hard time sleeping!
