October 5, 2008 Wonder Cruise!

My dh really wanted to go to this, but I my heart really wasn't in it. Since I do all of the planning, we didn't make plans for it. Now I don't feel so bad for not working it into the schedule.

Just got off the phone with Disney. We are double dipping at Castaway Cay. Dress night is now Wednesday and Pirate night is Tuesday. So exciting!!

I finished making my fish extender!!! It turned out better than I expected. I didn't have any kind of pattern or anything. Dh looked at it and said, "someone's going to steal that." Has that ever happened? Have you heard stories of people's fish extenders getting stolen? I don't have our names on it, do you think I should put them on somehow to maybe make it less attractive?

Is everyone on the list?? I'm gathering goodies.


Dd is excited to find out that Pirate Night is on her birthday. She is motivated now to dress up. I guess we're off to the thrift store now. I tried looking for adult pirate costumes on line... why do they make all the women's costumes into bimbo outfits?

ETA - I totally agree about the woman pirate costumes!! My friend made hers last year - she used brown pilate type pants and cut them off at the bottom (crookedly) and had a white shirt and bought black felt for the vest. I'll have to find a pic...

Can you use a Sharpie and put your stateroom number on the back (big) and somewhere on the front that people might notice it? That's what seems to work for the door magnets...

I don't really want to do that. I want my girls to be able to use this IRL after we get home. Maybe I'll sew something on it.

you could use a plastic tie to keep it attached to the fish. i'm going to look for some thursday so i'll bring extras. it's kindof like a cable tie. locks it tight but you have to have scissors to cut it away from the fish

For those of you that missed it our October 5th cruise is a "Double Dip" at Castaway Cay. I called DCL at about 4:45 p.m. today and spoke with Aelyn who did verify this schedule:

Monday will be Castaway Cay.
Tuesday will be Nassau.
Wednesday will be Castaway Cay.

Pirates in the Caribbean deck party will still be held on Tuesday night.
And… if you had scheduled Palo brunch for Monday, the day at sea, it has not changed, brunch will still be on Monday.

I hope everyone sees this post.

My DW was disappointed because we had originally wanted to do one of the "Double Dip" cruises because we love Castaway Cay but because of our schedule we were not able to do so. This is great news to us. We hope it is for everyone else.

Don't worry about people taking the fish extender, we just got back from a 4 day last week and we did fish extenders and nobody bothered a thing. We had great fun with it on that cruise.

I wish they would too! I call MS last night about our Palo brunch and was told they are not changing anything since that was supposed to be our day at sea ad that's the day they do Palo brunch. She also said we may need to register for CC activities while onboard since they close online reservations TODAY! This was news to me since I thought I saw somewhere that we had until October 3 to make changes. Anyway, if anyone else receives other information please share with the rest of us.

I can see it now, there will be a mad dash to the excursion desk on Sunday! Ready! Set! Go!

I am so excited, I went an got all of my fish extender goodies last night.
