October 4, 2012 - Mr Sandman bring me a 3 night Dream!

We will be cruising! Celebrating my 40th birthday! There will be 7 of us: my parents, my MIL, my DH, myself, my autistic DS(9) and my DD(7)! It's our first Disney Cruise! We are spending the week before at the new AOA hotel! :)

For those who participating in the FE, please PM the following to me:

Guest Names, along with identifier (adult, DW, DH, DS, DD - if DS/DD please add age for those wishing to gift something age appropriate for them)
Stateroom Number
Email address (so I can send the list out to all participants!)
Notes (such as celebrating anything, allergies, medical conditions, etc.)

This will be my sixth Disney cruise, but first on the Dream - looking forward to it!

Welcome! What an awesome way to celebrate your b-day!

I am so glad there is finally a "group" for this cruise!!:thumbsup2

We'll be a larger group (and seemingly the only ones with kids on this cruise!! ;)) of 6.. myself, my mother, two nieces (14 and 11), my daughter (4) and my husband. It will be a wind down from 6 nights at the World.

If I remember correctly, we are in 8578 and 8576 which are connecting verandah.

Hopefully we get a decent size group going. The kids were looking forward to doing FE's again!

We are on the same cruise - room 7556! My kids are excited too! 9 and 11. Is there a group for Fish Extenders? I've been looking but I haven't seen anything...

I tried to PM you but I'm new on here so it wouldn't allow me to. If you PM me, I'm assuming I can reply, right? My kids would love to be included in a Fish Extenders group. A friend of mine was telling us about it after her cruise and it sounds like fun!

Hi and welcome! You can email your info to me at iloverags2@aol.com. You need ten posts to be able to send a PM.

I just booked our hotel for the night before. Staying for the first time at LaQuinta Inn Oceanfront in Cocoa Beach. We have always stayed at either Residence Inn or Country Inn & Suites, so this will be a first!

Hi All!

So far we have three signed up for the FE, and another interested (although still waiting on info)!
DisFanJen - Jennifer (Jennifer, need your email so I can send the spreadsheet)
JennyWren - Jenny
iloverags2 - Cindy
C8eOg (sent a PM, although not sure you will be able to PM back yet)

Once I have a bit more info, I will send out the first round of the list via Excel spreadsheet. If anyone would prefer a Google Doc, let me know and I will upload and update it there as well.

For those who would like to join in on the FE, please PM (or email to me at iloverags2@aol.com) the following:
Guest Names, along with identifier (DW, DH, DS, DD, BFF, etc. - please add age for children)
Stateroom Number
Email address (so I can send the list out to all participants!)
Notes (such as celebrating anything, allergies, medical conditions, etc.)

Have decided we will just wander Nassau (my typical Nassau "excursion" :rotfl:), and will do Castaway Ray's Stingray Adventure at Castaway Cay. Of course, there will be pampering at the spa as time permits!

I would love to join your F.E:yay:
I will PM you my details shortly once I find my stateroom number.

Just waiting for confirmation on ages for one family's children, and will then send the current list out (and create a private Google doc).

So, I'm trying to determine how I will adjust my FE so I can add Becky's name. Thinking I will try and do an iron-on and use some type of temporary adhesive. Hmmmmm...need to think this one out....

Hi I am new here and not too sure about how the boards work. DH and I will be on the Dream cruise Oct 4. This will be our very first cruise. We have 3 kids but are leaving them at home. We will be celebrating a late anniversary. After the cruise we will be going to WDW for 2 nights/3 days and staying at the Poly, which will be our first time staying there. The Poly has been our dream resort. We may be interested in joing the FE. I have read so much about it and it sounds fun, but it is more for just kids? Oh and we will be in room 6690, on the back of the ship.

Welcome aboard! We love the Polynesian, although have not stayed there in a few years. What a great trip you have planned with that and the Dream!

We have participated in several FEs...with no kids! :rotfl: Feel free to join in. In fact, our current list has five staterooms participating so far, and of the five only two have children...the other three are adults only!

This trip is a lot of first for us. First trip without kids, first cruise, first stay at Poly and first F&WF. My oldest son is from my first marraige so we have always had kids with us. We were married at WDW at the wedding Pavilion and our families were there the entire week and of course my son so we have always had kids with us every where we go. We have DS12, DD4 and DS2. This will also be DH's first time on a plane. This will be my second time flying, my first was in Feb when me and my mom went to WDW for the 24 hour Leap Day

Doh!

PMing you my email address now.

I dunno, stay off disboards for a couple of weeks... ;)

This question is for the cruising veterens: What is yor opnion about getting a passport for this cruise? I know it is not required, but strongly recommended, however it is quite a costly expense for our family of 4 and wondered what your experiences may have been with or w/out a passport. Thanks!

LOL! Will email the list to you when I get home from work this afternoon.

I'm a huge proponent for passports simply because I have seen on more than one occasion people being evacuated from ships for various reasons (most often due to an illness or injury that takes them to the hospital). If this happens to you or anyone in your party, and you cannot return to the ship before it leaves, you will need to find an alternate mode of transporation home. Flying from The Bahamas will require passports. Does it mean you will never be able to get home? Absolutely not. But it will mean spending time at the embassy getting paperwork squared away.

Having said that, I sailed years ago without a passport with no problems. It is a seemless process, and one that I have witnessed in recent years when traveling with family members who sailed with birth certificates and photo ID.

If you choose to go the route of BCs/IDs, you should not have any problems at all as far as boarding and debarking the ship. Just be certain the birth certificates are certified copies and not photocopies. Also, if anyone in the group is married and now has a different last name than their BC shows, bring along your marriage license as well. ;)

HTH! :goodvibes

We just got off a 5 day Double Dip on the Dream today. I'm already having withdrawal, esp since I had to cook dinner and wash clothes today. No one here to make my bed in the morning. :(

A day before we left a friend sent out an email saying they booked the Oct 4 cruise and asked if anyone wanted to join them. Immediately 2 other families booked so while we were on board we booked too. :) We also booked a second cabin to save one of the families some money and get them the OBC! :cool1: So glad we got the email in time. I would have been bummed if we saw it after the cruise.

Right now we have around 36 people (18 adults and 18 kids). Should be a fun cruise for us! None of them are DISers and most are first time DCL cruisers.

I might be interested in the FE for my family.

As for passports we just got off the Dream today and when we were in Nassau the cabin next door had a situation where something happened to the grandma and had to remain in a hospital when we left. I don't know what ended up happening but we overhead the dad saying they didn't have passports because they were told they don't need them so they were trying to figure out what to do. He was pretty angry and was demanding the captain be woken up (we were in Nassau until 1:45am). I felt really bad for them but anything can happen. We have passports for all of us (DS 5 and DD 2) just in case. It is a little expensive but for me it's just peace of mind having them just in case. Who knows, maybe DH will have a last minute business trip somewhere exciting and it's nice to know we can go if we want!

Welcome aboard! Perfect timing with the email and being able to rebook onboard! That's a nice size group you are going with...and totally fun several are first time DCLers!

Have you and your family added!

Please give me feedback on a good time/place to meet up on embarkation day. Love putting faces to names...and this is also a good time to update rooms in case of upgrades or whatever else may happen!

Just as an FYI, I will send out updates to the spreadsheet on weekends if there are any additions during the week (the Google doc will be updated on a regular basis though).

So far we have six signed up for the FE!

I ordered a new FE last night! My current one has DH's and my names on it, and I wasn't sure how to cover up DH's with Becky's....soooooo, a new one it is! Of course, the one I have is a few years old and I could not for the life of me remember where I ordered it from, or even from who. Thankfully I found someone on Etsy who can recreate it fairly close, and she has been an absolute doll (Gradysmommy). Yea!

Tomorrow is supposed to be my 105 day mark for checking in, booking stuff, etc., but DVC told Becky they could not add my Castaway Club number to the reservtaion. DCL says they most certainly can, but DCL cannot add it - DVC needs to. Ugh. So, we will get stuck with a sucky check-in time when we hit the 75 day mark I'm sure. I'm not concerned about booking anything - the only thing planned is Castaway Ray's, and that typically is fairly simple to grab a spot for two.

This cruise cannot get here soon enough!!!
