Thanks Steve. Those are very helpful to anyone going!! I have a friend that works at WDW every 6 months or so. She was down there a week and a half ago and brought us back maps! How thoughtful was that??!

I've got a good handle on packing. I'd love to leave now and can the rest of the school week. We've had 18 teachers & 400 kids out at our high school, 60 at my daughter's elem. with the nasty cold virus/swine flu stuff going around. So far my husband and daughter are still good, but we've got 3 more days this week. I'm stressing out more about someone sneezing or coughing than I am about packing!!!! Bring on the beach!!!!

Jeff - I'm sorry about the tire issues, but look at the bright side (my favorite side!!!) - it happened TODAY instead of Friday. Now, that really would be something to fret about.

Have a great trip down tomorrow. So jealous you're leaving already. It's taking forever for Friday to get hear....See you on the ship!

2 maybe 3 suitcases? Seriously? How do you do that? I have 1 big suitcase, 1 garment bag and 4 carryons and that's with packing cubes. I am going to go through and see what I can reduce, but with a family of 5, Halloween costumes, Pirate costumes, suit, sportcoat, dresses and tons of shoes as well as everyday clothes I feeling a bit overwhelmed.

Maybe if I only packed one outfit for each of us and just did laundry everyday.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

I don't have any packing tips because I tend to overpack myself!

Just curious, where are you from in MN? When are you flying down? We leave Friday on the 7:10 flight.

If either of you families from MN are flying down on NW I would recommend about 1 hour before scheduled landing time you ask the flight attendents to knock on the cockpit door and remind the pilots that they should begin to pay attention and get ready to start the landing procedures

Thanks, everyone, for the good travel wishes!! Almost everything is packed in the truck. We still have a few last-minute things to deal with. It's all good, though. We will be in Disney in 24 hours.

It seriously sounds like you resent the FE gifts. That's a shame. It's suppose to ADD to the trip, experience, and vacation, not cause more grief.

Nope, love the idea of them. Can't wait to get some. Besides, I think I can put all of my gifts into carry on bags so I don't have to pay an extra $30 to check them in.

Related - for anyone flying AIRTRAN, if your bag goes over 50 pounds, in addition to the $15 bag fee, you pay and extra $49 for that bag. If your bag is more than 70 inches (add the length, width and height), in addition to the $15 bag fee, you pay an extra $79!!!!!. All of this is odd, since we only paid $59 per person. That means bags could cost more than people. I wonder if you can just pay for a seat and put yours bags on it?
