Wait till the meet-up and you introduce all of us as who you were talking to.. Can't wait to see her face for that.

Oh my!! Jaime .... are the kids going to know when you're at MNSSHP?? If not, do I need to wrap the lanyards in something before I give them to you???

How have you decided to tell them you are cruising?? I LOVE Cruise surprise stories for kids :)

We have no idea! Any suggestions? We would like to wait until luch time the day we leave...then tell them we are going to WDW not sure if we will tell them about the cruise then or if I'll make something for our room at the AKV. I often go to the airport with work and everytime the girls went with we...as we approach the airport they would beg me to take the on a Disney cruise so maybe I will try something like that...my only concern is I want them to say by to our dog or I know I will have problems...

Good thought. We will probably be wearing our lanyards (they are great to carry stuff in!!), so it might be great way to introduce the subject. :) Wow ... I might get to see their faces!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Woohoo!! I wanna be in on that. How fun will that be. :)

Kristen:

Two things.

We have not seen them on the discussion boards or on the chats in a while and everyone was asking for them. Hopefully all is well for them. Last anyone heard from them was right after Scott's injury with the chain saw. Hopefully he has fully recovered.

Also if you speak with them please remind them to confirm with renysmom if they are still planning on participating in the fishextender as the cutoff date to confirm participation is Sept 15.

I noticed that they do not show as confirming on the Crusie website.

Also do you know if they are palnning on attending the NJ Meet & Greet this Saturday in Woodbridge?

Hey Steve,

I know they are definitely doing the fish extenders because they made theirs already. I'm not sure about the meet & greet. Scott is doing much better! Thanks for checking. I just left them a message, so hopefully they'll be back on here soon!

Kristen

Hi Shell!:goodvibes WOO HOO I just noticed your countdown calendar syas we have 50 days left!

I am so excited..spent the morning making FE gifts...notice not everyone has their children names on the FE list...if you would like your child to have their name on my gift and their names are not on the list please pm me. Now I just have to figure out whatelse to get for FE giftd...need to go looking around this week once the girls start school.

Well as some of you know I almost got busted on Sunday night and now Kierra thinks we are going on a cruise in 2011:lmao:Never told her that she just came to that conculsion...guess she figured there would be no way we would go this year:goodvibes

Hi Jaime,

My kids are Alexandra (14), Madeline (9) and Benjamin (7).

A few things we did:

I did wash them before we made them so they are now ready to wear as is suggested. This way in case the iron-on goes bad in washing and cracks I got the first and most important wearing out of it!! :)

I had another T shirt nearby of both John's and mine and a ruler and we measured the logos on those to get the proper placement on these. That really helped cause guessing is never a good thing when it comes to me and measuring things

and lastly.. I am so embarrassed but.....

Did you know there is a backing you must peel off of the logo :rotfl2: We didn't know and couldn't understand why they weren't sticking..

OK I know DUMB crafting moment and I am just sharing this totally embarrassing moment for those of you here that have never done this so you will know ahead of time..

Mocking is not needed, John will take care of that for all of you!!!! and Shell I told him if he does mock me alot he will find a bubble gum pink T shirt in his bag instead of the black one..

Have fun making yours, one more thing off the list :cool1: :cool1:

Kelly, the shirts look great!

Hi Jaime,

Thanks!

Kristi

Hey Kristi,

My dd is 9 also. She, Abigail, will be approaching 10 on the cruise. She gets excited whenever another 9 yo is found. Do your girls chat on Mondays? We have not but as we get closer Abby may like to "meet" other kids.

Thanks for the comments on the shirts, they were fun to make.

I sent a PM to those who have not confirmed FE participation (except for Joe since we are told he is doing it). One family has already emailed back that they aren't cruising, and I expect at least 2 more to do so since they haven't posted on the DIS anywhere in months.

Will keep everyone up to date

Here's a picture of our pirate clothes...planning on using the same costumes...nothing to fancy most of it is old clothes cut up:goodvibes

I decided to take the easy way...the costumes were actually still in the suitcase from 2007 so they are already packed:lmao:

Trying to decide where to stay the last night of our vacation leaning towards the Hyatt however we have stayed close to the airport before and found that really easy too and much cheaper...

My daughter is interested in the kids chat, but is intimidated by "teens." Are there any kids around age 8 or 9 chatting?

My daughter is interested in the kids chat, but is intimidated by "teens." Are there any kids around age 8 or 9 chatting?

The regulars are some 14 yo girls and a 13 yo boy and a 11 yo girl. The conversations are very vanilla in content. The chat is monitored by Ntheory (Shelll) each week along with a few parents.

My 14 yo daughter and 11 yo daughter are regulars on the chat, but this is their first experience with chat and your daughter should have no problem keeping up with the conversation and the speed as this is a chat 101 level.

Have her join them next week, I think she will have fun! :)

Good morning everyone...

In my never ending quest to get myself organized and by utilizing the fact that my boss is out of the office for 3 days, I was able to create the Meet-Up document I promised weeks ago so that everyone can have the chance to download it and work the meet-ups into your plans.

So here is the link to download it. It is a word document, just as an FYI..

Hi guys - I am still at work organizing LOL

I wanted to share with you how I stay organized on trips like these that have so many things to remember on so many different days

I've been making these vacation card books for about 5 years now and will never not make one when we do cruises, WDW and other large vacations.

First I go to Wal-mart, Target, Dollar Store, etc and buy one or more of those cheap plastic photo wallets, they usually cost $1 - $1.50 and are near the photo frames.
You've seen the kind, they look like checkbook covers but are 6 X4 and they hold about 30 photos. Let me know if you don't and I can post a picture. (How many you buy depends on how many
people you want to have copies of the vacation plans. I make one for John and one for me so we both have access to the info all the time.

I use my vacation card template (example below) and create a cover and then just start plugging in all the info I have (dates, times, events, reservations, things not to forget to do, etc. for each day of the vacation. I keep adding info to these cards until a few days before the trip. I then print these cards out on my home printer, place them in the photo wallet and throw this in my purse/bag, whatever. This now becomes my vacation bible for the trip. It is so much easier than carting around notebooks and large pieces of paper everywhere you go. I've printed them out on regular paper before and cut them and I have used index cards. Doesn't really matter which you print on.. And that is it.. my simple organizational tool.. What are you all doing to organize yourselves?

In case anyone wants a visual here is my to be completed vacation cards for the cruise so far.. I have a bunch of notes to add to it of course but it you need a template to get you started you can just use mine..

Hope it helps someone.. Sample

We have done this for trips to WDW. We use Tour Guide Mikes site and we were able to get a bunch of info on every ride, show, parade, you name it. We printed them out, color coded them and put them in the same photo album. Then as we walked the park we had easy access to any info we needed.
