Thanks for keeping us posted Shell!!
I'm so excited. My laminator/magnet machine came today. I'm going to try it out this weekend and make some door magnets. :cool1:

Got insurance paid for yesterday. Cruise paid off today. Only thing left is a van to pick us up at the ship and take us back to the airport and shore excursions. (Plus making fish extender gifts, which I'm still trying to figure out what to do)
 
Jen, check your flights. We are also flying AirTran and just found out that both of our flight times have changed. One even changed the type of plane so we needed to pick new seats. I guess this is one of the draw backs of booking flights in Feb for Oct.
But we are pleased with the changes because
1 - our flight down is earlier by an hour so we will now be at the hotel by the port for dinner
2 - instead of sitting 3 and 3 (with people in the middle) we are now 2, 2, and 2. All either a window or an aisle.

I will check, thank you! I checked the other day and noticed the times changed a little. AirTran is "good" about changing times. I am not sure why they can not have a set schedule like other airlines.
 
FULL PANIC MODE HERE!!!! Just paid off my balance today. GASP!!!!! Could have bought a small car for the price we paid. Oh well.....what recession???? Getting ready to plan our excursions so we can book at 12:00 am July 18th!!! How exciting is this??????!!!!!!! Anyone have any suggestions what they would/wouldn't do in the ports that we are stopping at??? BTW, my DH and I are making Palo reservations for November 1st so a table for two will be taken for that day. Sorry : ( . Will keep you all posted on anything that I hear from my contact at DCL, like ntheory. Getting really excited now but still have to stay focused on summer school : (. Chat with you all soon!
 
I am happy that DVC took care of my cruise. My airfare was taken care of with airline miles, but they recently changed our flight. We have a 3 hour layover in Chicago and we don't get to MCO until 7:45. I am not sure if we will stay at the port or the airport.

We have a rental car to get to the port, but the rental cars to get back are WAY too expensive. We are renting at the airport for our stay at WDW. I just have to find a way back to the airport. Does anyone going back to Orlando have room for two with two small carry on bags? :) If not, we will probably take the DCL shuttle.

The stuff I still have to do is purchase insurance, make a FE, make/buy FE gifts and lose weight. The weight thing and the insurance will happen now, but the others won't happen until probably September.

I am not too stressed yet. Work has done enough of that for me.

So glad I am not the only one in a panic, that makes me feel better...

We still cant figure out what to do in the Grand Caymans so we may do nothing.

Ive got the FE started but need to finish, same with the gifts, I've started the packing lists but never seem to finish them... So much to do, so much to think about LOL

Checkin in Question here... John and I are repeat cruisers, Brian and Kailynn aren't. When we get to the port can Brian and Kailynn go with us to the castaway check in desk or do we go with them? We want to be checked in together so we get the same boarding pass number. How does that work when part of our group are members of CC and the other isn't?

Also, with us doing reservations before Brian and Kailynn is there anyway to make sure our excursion reservations are linked together so that we are scheduled together on those excursions that happen more than once in day. There is only one excursion we are all doing so of course we want to be together. Does DCL just "know" these things LOL

We may do an island tour, or we may do nothing. We haven't quite decided about GC yet. My friend may meet us down there and give us a personal tour. :)

I'm not doing that at all. :) I'm letting Concierge take care of all of it for me because that's what they're for.:) Love that. So, I should be sleeping while you're booking. :)

I will probably start filling out my forms tomorrow, though.

Since they have their own reservation, they will check themselves in. I would not worry about boarding number though. when we went, we had a later number then my parents. Since we were a family they let us board together so we could be announced together and get the first family picture all together. Also when we went, the line for Castaway club was longer then the regular line, so they may have the same number. LOL

As far as excursions, I am not sure. You could book yours early, but I do not think they will save spots for them. I would call DCL and see what they say.
 
WHEW! I was getting worried last night at 12:00 am when it was 105 days out and I couldn't book anything. So, I signed off, signed back on and VIOLA! There is was, right in front of my eyes, like seeing Cinderella's Castle for the first time--the ability to make reservations!!! I secured Palo for November 1, our 6th year anniversary, Palo for brunch for the three adults (by then Kyla should be well adjusted in the kid's club) and Palo for high tea for my DH and DM. I also checked Kyla into the kid's club, can't wait to see her reaction when she sees it for the first time. I booked the Dolphin Discovery in Cozumel last night on our own, saving over $200 by doing so versus going through DCL. If you have bad news about doing this, don't tell me please : ) . I am hoping that I did the right thing. I couldn't imagine spending $400 for one excursion. Hope everyone is doing well. Hope to be on the chat on Sunday.

We apologize for not posting in FOREVER! We're at WDW now and decided to catch up on all the cruise news. We're still going to be joining you all on the cruise. Can't wait!! Hope to post more frequently now.

William, this is my first DCL trip so I'm not an expert, but... I'm moving 9 people around Orlando (MCO to WDW to Port to MCO etc...) and found a shuttle service that will move my group of 9 from WDW to Port to MCO for $310, total! I shopped around before finding this price and had comparable offers at $500. I'm using Omega Transportation (omegatransportation.com).

If you're coming in the day before, like we are the week before, use 15 points and stay at SSR. The Magical Express is free and you could see what a shuttle would cost from there. If you're coming the day of, then I don't know what to tell you. But, I'd still look at a shuttle roundtrip to/from the port.

I see you are in NJ. I know this is last minute (for you), but a bunch of us from the NJ area are getting together this Sunday (the 26th) at a park in NJ. It should be a lot of fun to meet each other now, and get the kids to meet so they already have a familiar face at the clubs.
