Shell:

Have you heard from Jared yet? I was not sure if he has limited privileges the first couple of weeks at Boot Camp!

We got our *only* phone call. It is a scripted, less-than-30-second call last Monday night around 7:45. He could say nothing more than what was on his paper and could take no longer than 30 seconds. He sounded very strong and focused (as the DIs yelled and yelled at them. :) ). I was so very glad to hear that strength in his voice.

I'll have to see about looking into the Radisson. :goodvibes

Yes, yes!!! Do that!!!!

Ok, I decided to try hotwire to save a bit on the hotel stay before the cruise and I really wanted Radisson, but got the La Quinta. I don't know anything about it. I think it's about 7-11 miles from the port. Not too bad.

My plan is to rent a car from Avis at MCO and return it the next day at Avis in Cape Canaveral. Does anyone know for sure if Avis has a shuttle to the port and if so do I have to reserve it and how often do they run?

Thanks a bunch!:)

Sooooo ... you could drop by the Radisson the night before the cruise for the meet-n-greet, still ...... :)

That would be nice.:goodvibes I was really hoping to get the Radisson... :rolleyes1 stuck with what I have. I'm hoping La Quinta isn't as bad as Trip Advisor reviews say that it is.

Well, it's only for one night, so hopefully, it will be ok for that one night.

I hope this works, it's my first time using photobucket! Just had to share...

I made this outfit for my DD to wear on Pirate Night :goodvibes I am not a very skilled seamtress, but I gave it my best try!

Great job!!! That's so cute.

And cute kid!!

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you are all having a great weekend.

For some new cruisers, wanted to put a plug in for the NJ meet and greet this upcoming weekend, Sept 12th. I need someone to post exact information because DH is not here right now and I do not know anything except I am getting in the car and going north! :rotfl:

I know it is on a previous post...but if someone could post it again so others do not have to search right now. :flower3:

Also - All AirTran fliers... time to check your reservation again. We started in Feb flying home leaving at 1147. Every so often, we noticed the flight was earlier, and earlier, and earlier until last week it was 9:50. Went to AT website, and noticed they actually had a noon flight. called and got changed to a different flight. i guess Airtran website is on my list of website to check daily. I do get the email updates, but I do not seem to get them in a timely manner.

It's like medical school - what do you call the person who graduates top of the class in med school? Doctor. What do you call the person who graduates last in the class? Doctor. :lmao:

I am going to have to step up my posting - I don't have much time to catch up!

BTW, my son is watching the disney cruise DVD on the computer AGAIN right now!

We should think of a time/way to meet up, Jaime!!
I would love to meet up! We are hoping to be at the MK by 6:00.

Hi there!
Hubby, DD(5 1/2) DS(almost 4) DS(almost 2), Papa and Nana and myself will be on this sailing and are soooo excited about it. I just wanted to introduce us and see if anyone can help me get on the FE list. I can not do PM's b/c I have not done 10 postings:( If someone could contact me that would be wonderful!!! Can't wait to get to know you guys!!
BTW, we live in NY, my parents are in FL... and we are super Disney fans!!!
Alyson
Welcome Alyson! My DD Alicia is 5 1/2 too!

Ok, I just decided to bite the bullet and pay through the nose for airfare because I'm tired of worrying about it and I want to be done with it!! I have Southwest down to MCO out of Philly on Oct. 30 and Airtran back to Philly on Nov. 7.

Is anyone staying the night before at the Hyatt at MCO? I'm considering it. What are your night before hotel plans and what transportation are you using?
We will be at the AKV and I plan to rent a car and leave extra early to drive to port as I want to stop at Wal-Mart on the way...there one close to Port and it's just of the main highway.

It's great! I especially like the pink belt! I made all of our in 2007...need to try them on the girls to see if they still fit without giving it away why I want them to fit;)

Okay considering I was gone for a full year and am still in the top six...hmmm...I must talk way to much:rotfl:

Okay my turn to ask the question of the week: Who is dressing up for Halloween? Pirate night? Formal night?

We are still trying to decide. Pretty sure though we'll dress up for all. Just going to be hard to get everything ready without the girls having any idea:goodvibes

Well, my girls are definately dressing for Halloween and we'll see what we can do for Pirate Night. I have a Jack Sparrow costume I wore to MNSSHP a few years ago.pirate: If I can find room to pack it, it may make the trip. DW has yet to decide if she's wearing a costume. We all are dressing up for formal nights. We have never had the opportunity as a family to get dressed up so this will be fun. Plus, my extended family that's coming with us will also dress up. Again, it's because we've haven't had the chance since my wedding 12 years ago.

That would be fun!! We plan to be at MK by 4 or 5, so we can arrange before we get there (or use cell phones) to meet. :) The meet before the meet. LOL!

If I had been here for a full year, I can't imagine how many posts this thread would have! LOL!!!!

Yes, yes, sort of. :) We're dressing for all of them, but I'm not sure how 'dressed' we will be (yes ... we will be fully *clothed* - Jeff and Eric ....). I'm trying to think simple for Halloween because we'll have to either have that on when we board or change early since we have main dining. I don't want to miss stuff because I have to change clothes. KWIM?? :)

Halloween - kids yes, adults yes, but simple
Pirate night - kids yes, adults ??
Formal night - yes, but not tux

Hey Jamie! I was so glad to read that you're back on the cruise, too!:cool1: Do you plan to return your rental car in port canaveral and if so, how will you manage doing this with your family?

Can anyone else share how they'll manage returning a rental car and getting to the port? I'm not sure yet if I want my husband to do this on his own or if we could stay together as a family and clunk along our luggage on the shuttle? Any ideas?? I always try to get these management things worked out ahead of time....

Well, you know my DD is dressing up for Pirate Night! I bought a pirate-y looking shirt to wear for me, I made up a shirt for DS. As for DH, who knows. He's not super into getting dressed up.

As for H'ween, the kids will be getting dressed up. I was planning on it, but having a hard time finding a costume I like. Adult women costumes seem geared toward, well, hoochie mammas :lmao:

As for Formal Night, we are getting dressed up, but not to tux level. DH & DS will be wearing jackets & ties.

It's a lot of fun...especially on the red carpet for the Golden Mickey's:goodvibes

I ended up making my pirate costume out of old clothes last time as all the ladies pirate costumes weren't DCL friendly;)

We noticed that most people who didn't dress up on pirate night wore white t-shirts and jeans.

I am pretty sure we are all returning the car...I would be worried the whole time DH was gone...if it's like when we got of the cruise last time it's simple...no different then any other shuttle...reminded me a lot of the airport shuttles...all the luggage went on with us and go on luggage shelves...
