OCTOBER 30th & NOVEMBER 3rd Cruises (FE and Meets)

You're doing a great job at this Mike. Thanks for taking the time to organize it by staterooms, it'll make it so much easier. Can't wait to get that final report a few days before the cruise.

For those who have participated in past FE exchanges, does this seem like a really large group or is this about average? It seems really big, but should make it a lot of fun for all the kids, big and small:)

Thanks!!!

I just took a look at the "updated" list but we are still on it :confused3 I opted out months ago because the group was too large. I hope this doesn't inconvenience anyone :guilty:

Hugs, Ilene.....who is beyond excited at this point and down 78lbs! Hope it's 85 by cruise time!

Hi there, been too busy with work and our Alaskan Wonder cruise to really get involved with this one. Are we too late to participate in FE? Traveling are myself (Michelle), DH Derek and DD Maggie (9). We're also traveling with a couple other friends from my daughters' dance classes (ours will be the children you see tumbling around the ship - can't seem to keep their feet on the ground - or deck!) See you onboard!

No, it is not too late to participate. Just be warned that you may/may not receive everyone's FE as the "official tally" was taken. If anyone has extra (most, like us, do), I am sure that your will be amply accommodated. Just let me know the cabin number as you already provided the rest.

I might have missed but I thought you were still wavering. But I will take you off the list if you truly wish it. Just say the word.

BUT remember, to give is truly optional (and for a lot of us that is the joy). But for us to give, someone has to receive. So this time, let us give to you and you can pass on the giving on your next cruise. :thumbsup2

Wedding Cake and Champagne.... I could be talked into that job...

It will be on a tripod and it autofocuses! lol If you are interested PM me, it is for 2 hours though so I would understand if that is too much time! I am so surprised Disney does not offer to video it :(

We are bringing our own photographer to take photos though which I cannot wait for!

PS The cake is chocolate with milk chocolate carmel ganache and the second layer is vanilla with something my fiance picked (I forget! lol)

PSS Mickey and Minnie will be making a special visit to the reception as well! ;)

WOW, that is really nice of you. If you all feel the same way I'll stay on as it will be so much fun to see what is given and I'll have a better idea of what to give next time. I do have a few stickers and such I could give, would that be acceptable? It's like Target $1 stuff...I don't have the time or $ to do much more than that but I sure would like to participate :)

Hi, we are on the Oct. 30 cruise as well. We will have in total 15 family members honoring our matriarch who is turning 90 on Nov. 1!
My immediate family is DH - Rob, me - Michelle, DS - Austin (13), and DD - Amelia (7). Joining us will be my parents, all of my aunts & uncles, some cousins and their children, and of course our grandmother/mother/great grandmother!!
Would love to join in on the FE's -- not sure what that is but sounds fun.
We are coming down from Stowe, VT. Some from Oregon, most live on the west coast of FL.

You can either PM me or just mention your cabin # (since you mentioned everything else) and I will add you to the list. It is after the Official Tally so, be warned that you may not receive some FEs as people may have already ordered/made them. Many of us have extra knowing that others want to join.

There are several threads on FE here on DIS boards. One of them is http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1219607

Reminder: Current FE list is here: http://dcl.trapperhq.com/20111030/fe_list.htm

I will accept FE additions until Oct 23rd (we leave on Oct 26th for part 1 of our B2B).

Welcome! This is our first Disney cruise and we are going with a party of about the same amount of people!

Funny enough we have a house in Maine (my parents), Stow, Maine! Everyone always thinks we are talking about Stowe, Vermont! :rotfl:

We got our luggage tags and docs on Saturday!!! We were out of town all weekend with a soocer tournament so it was a nice surprise when we got home Sunday. It really feels close now. We also finally finished up our FE. Have to say my daughter and I did a really nice job and we are all very excited to hand out our FE gifts.

We have plenty left over so those joining late will be receiving from us. Nothing real special, but we thought our gifts were fun and we hope everyone else will too:)

Welcome aboard VTsoells and your family. It's going to be a great time!!!

That is fine with me. Give what you can. Remember this supposed to be fun not break the bank.

Thanks for the link to examples of the pockets. I have forwarded some of those on to my mother & grandmother, they are going to try to make something for us. VTsoells will be in rm. 8008. What kind of things do people leave? My kids will have fun working on this & they love to be secret santas. How fun, thanks for including us.

We got part of our FE gift the other day and we do have extras of most everything! I think the FE is our daughters' favorite part of a cruise, to be honest. They love seeing if there is a happy in their pocket and I hope everyone else's feels the same!

I agree, my son LOVES coming back to the cabin to see what goodies are in the F/E. I really enjoy making mine so it is a win win. My daughter and her BF are joining us and he is a Disney neophyte who is BEYOND excited so I am sure we will have a 21 year old kid who will also be enjoying his FE gifts as well.

I will be leaving for Disney on Thursday! DD and I are participating in the Wine & Dine half marathon. It's nice to only have 3 weeks between Disney trips, LOL.

Unexpected things always seem to muddy our waters! DH just had a "small" heart attack this past weekend :sad1: He had a 90% blockage which was fixed with a stint and he's feeling fine now and should be discharged today. We are very happy he caught it in time and went in when he did as their is very little damage to any heart muscle :) We are still on schedule for our Disney vacation only thing is he really really wanted to try the coaster and I think that may be overdoing it. I guess he'll really have to make some diet changes which won't be easy on a cruise!!!! but hopefully they will have some healthy choices of foods that are yummy too. Good food can also taste amazing if properly prepared. He just loves red meat but will have to learn to like chicken and fish and some meatless meals too. Thank goodness he's never been a salt shaker we mostly season with garlic and onion and both are good. Who knows maybe I'll have a partner on the treadmills :rolleyes1

Good Luck Saturday! DH and I will be out there running too. I have my mini red dot skirt...won't wear ears though. I am going to probably enjoy this one more. I just celebrated a PR at Disneyland, but since this one is at night, and past my bedtime, who knows! LOL!

Oh my, glad he's ok. That is scary, but so thankful they caught it when they did! DCL has great low fat healthy options! On a 7 night, when I was seriously doing my Weight Watchers, I lost 5 pounds! I ate a lot of the fruit, fresh veggies, salads, and even some vegetarian options...which were incredible! I don't feel like I missed out at all. In fact I tried things I may not have prior to, and I was really happy with my choices.!

FE ideas...we have sailed on many DCL trips, and have loved foing FE for the past 4 or so. Some ideas we have done, as we try not to spend more than $1 pp...

*Small alcohol bottle of Margarittaville tequila for the adults with laminated magnets of the Konk Cooler recipe. (The alcohol mini's were a huge hit, as people used them with the free soda on deck, vost, only $1.09 each)
*Personalized, printed mini tote bags for kids with small Disney card games, beads, pirate themed items, glow bracelets
*Drink coozies for the adults (BIL used to have a print shop, so really had some great FE's for a few cruises!)
*CD's of steel drum Christmas music
*pirate themed goodies
*handmade ornaments

A few things we LOVED receiving...
*mini bottles of alcohol
*handmade Christmas ornaments
*CD's with cruise music
*tote bags
*Chapstick with a personalized label (we had forgotten ours that trip!)
*Photo Mousepad with a cruise line picture in it
*Yankee Candle votive from someone from the city where the company is located
*fun snack foods that we can't get in FL from people's home state...ie Michigan dried cherries, candy from Canada
*DD LOVES glow items such as the glow swords, necklaces-perfect for pirate night
*highlighter with cruise dates on it

Hope that helps...

Stephanie

These are some of the FE gifts we have given in the past.

These items we had made for friends of ours that cruised on DCL for their honeymoon...magnets, water bottles, even a puzzle. I loved all the DISigners pics so much, we went crazy with a care package for them to use on the ship.

Oh, and I can't forget, we have given cruise magnets, and received some fun ones too!

Glad he is feeling better and the trip is still on. :thumbsup2

I would not call it a Coaster in the Thrill park sense. It would be more like a semi-fast moving lazy river ride high up in the air. only three turns: one 270 degree at the beginning which is the overhang, blink and you miss it; one 180 degree turn at the halfway point and the last 180 degree at the end (gotta get around the funnels). Ride takes about 60 seconds to complete. The most physically demanding part is climbing the stairs (about 2 stories) to get to the ride, depending on the time of day that could either take 30 seconds (no one there) or 30 minutes (everyone shows up to ride).

As far as the food, i look at dinner as one big food tasting. I order pretty much everything on the menu and then sample it all (this typically includes the "healthy", "weight watcher" dinners). Most of it is excellent and viewing it as a tasting means I probably only eat my normal amount but I get to taste it all (I will devour my favorite)

I do the same for the dessert menu even the "no sugar" versions which at times are the best ones (other times they are the worst).

PS. I gave up on the salt shaker when I was a teen and my dad had too. The only salt on my food is what is cooked with (and my wife, kitchen-chef, loves to cook). Now 47, I only see salt shakers as table decorations.
