OCTOBER 30th & NOVEMBER 3rd Cruises (FE and Meets)

You do realize the I keep up dating the FE list... And will be until Oct 23rd if anyone asks to be put on or taken off.

PS. I will have paper copies of the Final list on our cabin door on Embarkation day as well as a version for folks to update with upgrades/moves/etc.

OH, OK thanks, good idea about having a paper copy available on your door!

IleneF we're neighbors! We live in Hanson on the Hanover line. We'll be flying out on the 28th. We're splitting our DVC stay 2 nights at Kidani then after the cruise 3 nights at BLT. Excited and nervous all at once. Haven't flown with the babies yet. I feel like I think of something else we "need" everyday. Preparing for this trip probably cost as much as the cruise .

Adorable bride and groom magnets. So fun!!

One of the old posts I was reading said that some of the kids were introducing/getting to know each other before the cruise. My son Austin is in 8th grade, 13 turning 14 in December. Interested in "meeting/chatting" some people before the cruise. We are going with our extended family for my grandmother's 90th birthday on Nov. 1 (mine too, I'm born on her birthday!)
The other kids on the cruise are younger, ages 7, 5 and 2, so he wants some people to hang out with.

Added to the FE.. Must have missed that post (sorry), thanks for reminding me.. :)

Age/gender were only requested by some for the kids. Some folks make kid specific FE gifts. All adults are considered 21+ for alcohol related FEs. :ssst:

Does anybody know how to make a fish extender..? or should I buy one offline I don't have one cause this is my first time doing it..

do whatever works for you

Some people order something fancy from a lady they found on e-bay
Some make it themselves--there are ideas on a thread someone may be able to link to
Some buy little tote bags, decorate them or let each kid decorate his or her own and sew or loop them together so they hang long and skinny from the starfish, seahorse or fish by your stateroom door.

I have even seen a Cruiseline shopping bag in use on some cruises.

Have fun!

Okay! I will look up things to do for it. :)

There's a sticky thread on the main forum which has lots of general information about cruising on DCL - some of the links are directions for "no sew" FE's if you want to give it a try (and don't want to or can't sew).

Our FE is crochet because that's my mother's preferred medium to work in:

I agree ~ whatever works!

To me, the FE itself isn't as important as what you plan to put in it! (well, I guess technically what you plan to put in other peoples FE's!).

For me, the joy of FE's is the mini presents, the pockets are just the conduit. ;)

Woo Hoo! We should meet up once before the cruise! Two little ones - eh? That could be a challenge, my DS and DIL are bringing my 18mo grandson down to meet us in Disney after and are already stressing about the plane ride down. Alex doesn't sit still for a minute really and they aren't sure what they'll do on the plane :confused3 Any ideas????....Anyone!

A bag of toys that they know he likes but they squirrel away NOW so they are not so familiar that they are boring. Some favorite snacks. A plan to bottle feed (or nurse) for landings to keep the pressure equalized in his ears.

Let him run in the airport--find a secluded area where he will not bother anyone or get hurt and let him burn up energy before he is expected to stay in the airplane seat.

I am a big fan of paying for a seat for baby and taking his car seat because he is used to being in the car seat for car trips and having seat belts on whereas when he sits on people's laps he can get down and walk around so having to sit on a lap on the plane would be confusing to him so he would continue to try to get down and walk around.

I am sure there are travel websites and even DIS threads with ideas based on experience.

We are going Jet Blue so our 2 yr old can watch t.v. I bought him special earphones for toddlers and am breaking them in now. Carson is on the autism spectrum so we have a number of challenges. Our littlest one loves to be held so we are hoping he'll be entertained with my iPad and take his nap. He loves and needs his morning naps so we timed it the best we could.

VT, I also have an eighth grade 13 year old son. I think he would benefit greatly getting to know someone before we leave. Any chance your son plays X-box. I know it's not the greatest but when he's not out with his friends he talks with them while playing xbox live. Just a thought. We also have a 14 yr old dd, a 2 yr old and the baby will be one on 10/13. It's a crazy busy house, but we love it.

The following threads helped my daughter and me a ton when making our FE:

Probably more information than you'd ever need. We used the no sew method and I have to say it turned out pretty well. It was such a fun daddy/daughter project for us.

She's my true Disney partner. We test each other constantly on the Dream like what's the left side of the ship called??? Port Right side??? Starboard Rear of ship??? Aft What's the place where we pick up our pictures??? Shutters She's having a blast and it's so exciting that we're getting so close. Picked up our goodie bags for the FE's yesterday and we're going to start to bag and tag them this week:)

PrincessOlivia, I would love the boys to chat before the cruise. Austin doesn't have an XBox, we have a Wii & PS2, but he is usually on his computer - do you have Facebook? Or they could go back to the old emails!

Hi,

This cabin was suspose to be removed from the FE List back early spring the same time our other friends were removed from the list...

10162 Jaime (friend) 2 2 Dennis, Tracey, Aiden (6), Gavin (4).

Just noticed it was still there. Please remove from the list.

Thanks!

I keep trying to private message you but they aren't going through! Facebook would be a great way to get the kids to meet.

Can you only private message when you have so many posts?:confused3

We'll figure out a way. I just don't want to put all the facebook info out on a public forum.
