That is so sweet!

I think we'll be okay. I'm an over planner and a worrier, lol. Since we booked our cruise late I have to pack all my worrying into this month. I'm going to call today and see what DCL has to say.

Do you know what the bed set up is in your room? Are your teens staying in another room?

Thanks again!

Well if you chat w/DCL and they can move us to accomodate your family - all 4 of us are staying in a single cab and we'll just roll with it. Initally, we were booked for this same sailing for dec but with finals we moved it up to fall break. The kids still think we are going to the beach for fall break and the cruise in december. Which i suppose is good - just tough to figure out port stuff. I'm trying really hard not to plan alot - Just going to focus on having some family time. See ya' soon ~

Hello, we are also from Murrieta and will be joining you on the Oct. 2 cruise :yay: I was just talking to a co-worker and she mentioned that she knew a family that was on the same ship as me. I wonder if you're the person she was talking about. Wouldn't that be a funny coincidence?

Greetings to everyone :goodvibes I was encouraged to come join your group by another member. I know it's late in the game so I won't even bother asking about activities and so forth. But I thought it would be fun to introduce myself as yet another lucky person to cruise on Oct. 2 to the Mexican Riviera. I'm so excited! I read some of this thread ( holy cow, it's a long thread! lol). I like your Tshirt designs. It sounds like you all will have a great time getting to meet all of the people you've been talking to on here for the past year or more.

I am Shawna, DH is Travis. I have a daughter age 6 ( Faith) and a son age 13.5 ( Ethan). We're in room 7539. No plan for an upgrade, so I'm sure that's where we'll be the entire time. This is our first Disney Cruise. DH and I sailed on a Carnival ship back in 1998 for our one year wedding anniversary. Did I just age myself with that date or what !? We made our paper Countdown Chain yesterday with our daughter to help us get in the mood for an official countdown. Less than a month:yay: I've been wanting to go on a Disney Cruise for years now. Dh surprised me for my 40th birthday back in May with tickets. He's awesome like that. I'm pretty sure I'm more excited than the kids about the trip :rotfl: Do any of you have teen boys? My son is always open to making new friends. He's really friendly, but shy at first. He would love to make some friends to hang out with. He's in that teen phase where 'hanging out and doing nothing' is starting to be fun :p

Anyhow, that's our story. We're as excited as everyone else to board the Wonder and have a fantastic vacation. Anyone else going to Las Caletas in PV? We'll be there :woohoo:

Welcome Aboard!! :yay:

Hi Shawna and welcome on board. I will add you to the roll call tomorrow and PM you the link so that you can access this.

As for activities, the scavenger hunt is still open for joining and I hope you will come and join us for the meet the day we get on the Wonder at 3 PM in the Promenade Lounge.

It made me smile that you said that you were trying to convince your DH for years to go on a Disney Cruise. I have a similar story. We got married in 1998 and spent our honeymoon in Florida. At the time, as it was the launch year of DCL, they marketed this quite aggressively. Well, I was sold. I knew that I really wanted to do a Disney cruise. DH was not having any of it. It took me nearly 10 years to convince him to go. He finally let me book a cruise in November 2007 for September 2008. At the time, our first choice of cruise was sold out. It became available again around final payment date and I decided that I would treat us to that one as well. I figured that I would only get one stab at this and might as well do it properly. So we did a 5 night cruise and a 4 night cruise and we were hooked. Contrary to what I feared, DH loved it. Before we got off the ship on the second cruise, we booked another for 2009. Since September 2008, we have done 6 DCL cruises and two on NCL. We have now spent a total 55 nights on the Magic and the Wonder.

I have heard great things about Las Caletas. We are going on the snorkelling and sea kayaking excursion to Marietas Islands. We did this on the Panama Canal Cruise in January and loved it so decided to do it again.

I see on your ticker that you're renewing your vows. Congratulations:love:

Are the port (Cabo & PV) arrival & depart hours posted anywhere?

Thanks for the congratulations. The original plan was to renew our wedding vow on the Wonder, but we are now doing it at Crystal Cathedral the day we get off the ship. So if you will see us the lat morning, we will be in our wedding attire.

According to the cruise documents they are:

Puerto Vallarta Ashore 7:30 AM Onboard 7:00 PM

Cabo Day One Ashore 11:15 AM Onboard 7:00 PM

Cabo Day Two Ashore 7:15 AM Onboard 1:30 PM

I am just the teensiest bit jealous. I have 3 weeks and 15 shifts left. In three weeks time, we will be at one of the airport hotels.

It will be a busy three weeks as well. Tomorrow and Tuesday, I have my admin days and will do one to ones with some of my team members and hopefully I will get the bulk of my outstanding call monitoring done. Tomorrow night, we have a team night out. We are going Ten Pin Bowling, which will hopefully be fun. Apart from this, I have a bunch of meetings including a team meeting. I also applied for a promotion last week and hopefully this means that I have to attend an assessment day and an interview before I go on vacation. So I won't be bored. The good news is that I will finish work a day earlier than planned. I was supposed to have two days off midweek next week, but they are really short staffed so I will come in for one of them and they give me the last day that I was supposed to be working before our vacation off instead.

I have decided to upgrade us to club level at the airport hotel. When I originally made the reservation, they only had standard rooms available on a travel industry rate. I just checked again last week and now they have club rooms available. As it did not cost much more and includes 24 hour access to the club lounge and breakfast, I decided to go for it.

Corinna

Don't be jealous! My vacation started with a bone graft surgery! Ick! 1 week later I'm still a bit sore and swollen, but everything is going well. Stitches out next week and we should know if the graft takes by the time we cruise.

I will send happy thoughts your way for your promotion! DH was just promoted last month and is still adjusting to his new role in his department.

Please keep us posted how things go!

:banana:ITS DONE!

Very cute!

I can't believe that time is flying by so quickly! Just a few more weeks before our cruise!

We can only get reservations for palo on the first night @ 8:30pm (sigh)..
I really wanted to do brunch or the tea but by the time we booked they were all full.
With that said - by dining in the evening we won't get to enjoy the view and i kinda think that is part of the experience - do they hold back spots or are we better off doing this on another sailing?pirate:

As soon as you board the ship immediately check on changing your reservation. They usually have a few available the day you board.

Oh dear, I am definitely not jealous of this. I hope that the graft will take. DH went through this in 2003. It was not fun.

I would try to head for Wavebands as soon as you get on the ship. It is unlikely that you will get a reservation for tea as they only allow 20 people per sea day, but dinner and brunch should be doable. As much as I love Palo, I would not go to dinner on the first night as this is when you get to meet your serving team and your table mates.

I have only been able to check in here and there recently as I am silly busy. Still, it will all be worth it in the end.

I can't believe this bad luck. Last year, with a week to go before the Transatlantic cruise, I managed to take out a filling and a bit of tooth with it while eating a donut at a Team Leader Meeting. Well, it is almost to the day a year ago. I have another vacation coming up and we had another Team Leader Meeting and yes, you guessed it. I had a chocolate chip muffin and my fancy inlay disintegrated. Fortunately I have a dental appointment for a check up on Friday anyway. Unfortunately this means that I probably have to go back twice more before our vacation. I wonder if the Tooth Fairy is trying to tell me something.

On a more positive note, I got photos of my tiara for the vow renewal yesterday and also of two pendants that I had made to go with my formal dress and the dress that I am going to wear when we go to Palo. I also got my pillow case that I had embroidered with Mickey and Minnie, our names and the date of our vow renewal has arrived and this looks great. I got some fabric markers to get the characters to sign it.

Speaking of signing stuff, I am not sure if everybody here is aware of this. If you turn in something to be signed, like a photo matte, pillow case, tote bag, etc together with some Sharpies or fabric markers to Guest Services, it will be returned to your cabin on the last night signed by the characters.

You poor thing. Maybe the tooth fairy is trying to drum up some cash for her own Disney cruise! Good luck on that repair.
When do we get to see pictures of your tiara and jewlery?? We need to see!!

We're doing Palo the first evening, which isn't all that bad. The first night is usually a rush, so Palo will be a nice relaxing change.

:headache: Oh! Wishing you quick and painless dentistry! Once it is fixed, stay away from pastries! (Fat chance for me!)

I second the 'share your pictures!' sentiment! Let's see the tiara!

My favorite keepsakes from our cruises have been the photo mats and pillow cases. I've always taken plain ones, but this year I ordered custom embroidered cases and I haven't seen them yet. The same lady made my fist Extender so I'm sure they will be just right! Do fabric markers work better than Sharpies for the pillow cases?

...are we there yet? are we there yet? :drive:

I know!!!! :hourglass

Thanks Andy - but I'm undecided if i want to dine at Palo when I can't enjoy the view (We were really hoping for brunch) but there is so much to do on the ship that we may pass if we can't get reservations. We'll save the tea for another cruise. Our kids have never sailed so the mom in me says to encourage them the first night & then I'm sure they will be fine.

Have a wonderful time!

Tiffany? (Gradysmommy) - we've used her FEs for all our DCL cruises and also a pillowcase for the 2008 EB Panama Repo. She's sending us a new FE for this cruise after she gets off the Dream.

We dropped off a set (10+) of fine point Sharpies. The characters all signed in different colors.

Thanks for the good wishes. I so hate the dentist, but it needs doing.

I am planning to upload the photos tomorrow. I have a vow renewal Planning Journal on here and as tomorrow is exactly one month before the vow renewal, I will update it then. I will cross post them here then. I can't remember if I posted photos on here of the rest of the vow renewal jewellery.

The irony is that I normally do not eat pastries. I do not really have a sweet tooth and much rather have savoury things. I just signed up to a healthy snack box scheme where twice a week they mail a snack box to me consisting of things like nuts and seeds, speciality breads, crackers and olives. I had my first one yesterday and I am loving it.

I am not sure if the fabric markers will work better, but I have a bunch of pillowcases that were signed with Sharpies and I am too worried to use them. With the fabric markers, I can iron this when I get back and then the pillow case can be washed.

Anyone else doing tiaras for formal night?

:cutie:

I am not doing the tiara for formal night this time round. The tiara is for my vow renewal. However, we have decided to disembark in our wedding attire so you might see me in my wedding dress and the tiara on the last morning.

She did a special vow renewal Fish Extender for me and the pillow case. She also made a special Fish Extender for the Hawaii cruise with Stitch on every pocket. Stitch is my second favourite character after Figment and this was just too good to pass up. I love her work.
