Rachel, I'm glad your flight is coming in the day before. There are just too many horror stories of flight delays, and flying into the first port to meet the ship would be on Tuesday :scared: - I'd hate for that to happen to you. Disney sugarcoats everything. I'm glad you'll be there early. The port is about a 10-15 minute drive from the Radisson - there's Avis or Budget for rental cars, but there are also taxi's.

We are staying at the RADISSON friday night and they have a FREE SHUTTLE to the PORT SATURDAY>>NOW we are trying to get from the AIRPORT to the HOTEL>>I have called 2 places that RADISSON gave me and for a "MEARS" type shuttle it is 140.00/150.00 Round trip for the 4 of us...This sounds like how we will do it? Paying a Rental car to sit in parking lot for a week will be way more then 150.00 im sure..and a Limo? So this is probably the cheapest way to go , but i am still looking :cool1:

I Do feel SOOOOOOO MUCH better about Flying in on FRIDAY too~ THANKS ALL>>And thanks to the BOARD member who sent me the DVD< I arrived and we already watched it~

Rachel - I think that you can drop the rental car off at the port...I was sure someone said that it is about $25 for MCO to the Port

There is a budget counter at MCO as well as a budget counter near the Port. Not sure how close.

That is who we will use if we ue the rental car but who knows my plans change by the hour... :rotfl:

OHHHHHHH< so do a ONE DAY RENTAL< maybe? The only thing is that we STILL have to get to the hotel..BUT Maybe rent it 1 day friday and 1 day the next saturday? HMMMMMmm...ill keep looking into THAT then!
:flower:

TIM!!!!!! Are you in cabin 2071??? You are on the other side of us if so!

Rachel, you could drop the car off at the Port on Friday and catch a cab to the hotel..that may cost you a few dollars...then take the hotel shuttle to the port saturday morning

What if no raised seal...I saw that DCL wants that, but mine that I ordered and DD's has the watermark....!!! :earseek:

I believe that the newer birth certificates have the watermark - the older ones have the raised seal. They're both official certified birth documents.

Thanks! My very OLD birth certificate (on old thermal paper) had a raised seal, but when this one came from the state it didn't. Not only that..my old certificate (which is almost dust now) had all kinds of info on it..the new one has my name, DOB, parents and city..weird!

We have gotten passports which as canadian citz we might need anyways. I am concerned however since my DS's passport looks nothing like him. I am going to bring his student ID just in case.

Rachel, So glad you are comming in on friday and will be at the Radison. We will be there too. We are flying into "Sanford" I think that is the name and renting a car from budget. I don't know exact numbers but I know it is pretty cheap. We are going to return it on Sat am. Not sure if we will have Charlie drop me and the kids off at the terminal and return the car and take shuttle back by himself or bring it back in the am and take the shuttle from the Radison. Any feedback from others on which way is best?? :confused3

Any how really looking forward to meeting everyone we can before we even get on the ship  Kim I see you may be there :confused3 I know we keep changing our plans too :rotfl:

Barb....Ahha it was you that pulled the all nighter for the ressies. My TA couldnt believe I didn't do the same thing as obsessed as I have been about this trip. She is my great friend and I have cruised with her before. This is our first Disney Cruise and my kids first cruise so we have not made too many ressies either. I like you attitude :goodvibes We only have one big excurison planned and that is a Day Sail in St Thomas on the Winifred. It is a six person sail boat with the owner, Captain Sharon who will take us around St John for the day. We are soooooo looking forward to that day. :cloud9:

Any how we will look for you at Palo Wed night but I am still hoping to get in for brunch :flower: I am in for Tea on Sunday :teeth: and by the way I am Elizabeth but go by my middle name Trent. I don't want to confuse people :rotfl:

OK< called around..A SHUTTLE for 4 ( 2A< 2c) from MCO to our Hotel at the port and then back again, round trip is 150.00 . We would NOT be able to stop anywhere etc, BUT do not need booster seats either-werent bringing them.... I have checked into CAR RENTALS for 2 days...get it at 3pm on friday and return by 12noon on sat..DUe to LOTS OF luggage ETC LOL we would need a BIGGER SUV with the 4 of us..HENCE it would be 90.00..SO 180.00 PLUS we have to pay GAS>>BUT We could stop on way there to eat, grab snacks etc..NOT SURE~ BUT we would ALSO Then have to bring the KIDs booster seats :( ..I like the Flexibility of a car rental BUT not sure... :confused3

so many decisions to be made eh?? :confused3 Drives me nuts sometimes but I love to plan. I am going to firm up my choice this weekend...I need to know for sure what we are doing.

I do like having a car rental in WDW only because I dislike Disney Transportation and then we can stop on the way to the parks for snacks, drinks. etc. So we will have the car for a few days.

I think when you rent a car you can rent booster seats as well??

Good luck with your choices.

hey kim,

i know you are booked with fltours, just wanted to see if you read the post about them and the wait fee of $50 they charged someone. i am changing to southern elegance limo service bcause they seemed more knowledgable of dcl and there procedures, for instant i wanted to leave at 8am to get there early, but Adam the gentleman i spoke to said noone is allowed into the port until 10 or 10:30 they cant even drop you off until then, so we are leaving at 9:15, now we are do mco to boardwalk, boardwalk to port, port to mco and there price was 190.00 plus tip and one stop for us at the liquor store.. i just wanted to let you know. Maybe you should reconside, i was on the phone with gentleman for 30 to 45 mins and walked me through everything and i can say i feel much more comfortable with them, but they do not offer a discount, but if they are gonna give me better service and walk me through everything i am going to give them my business..

does anyone have any input on this maybe the king and queen lol :worship: :worship: .. just to reassure myself i am making the right decision

Finally home and checking on our posts--you all have been BUSY!

Regarding FL Tours, they are an excellent company to use (and I have done so many times, as well as many of my clients.) I have never had a problem with them, and never had a client report back a problem. FL Tours is correct--they cannot get you into the port before about 10:30 a.m. because others are still clearing out of the ship. Generally speaking 10:30 a.m. is the "opening" time of the port to begin check-ins and such, but boarding generally begins around 12:00 noon (it can be later, but as a general rule it is noon.) They will not allow anyone in the terminal area for new sailings until between 10:00 and 10:30 a.m. (depending on the day and how long it is taking to get things cleared.)
Hope that helps. Now to finish catching up on my reading here. ;)
