Call Florida Tours...I think they do? I don't know..Are we going to have a DIS meet at the Raddison?

It sounds like there are quite a few of us staying there on Friday night. We'll be arriving in the morning and have no definitive plans other than to swim at the pool. That may be the best place to meet and decide what to do from there. Anyone else have a suggestion? :goodvibes

hey kim,

i know you are booked with fltours, just wanted to see if you read the post about them and the wait fee of $50 they charged someone. i am changing to southern elegance limo service bcause they seemed more knowledgable of dcl and there procedures, for instant i wanted to leave at 8am to get there early, but Adam the gentleman i spoke to said noone is allowed into the port until 10 or 10:30 they cant even drop you off until then, so we are leaving at 9:15, now we are do mco to boardwalk, boardwalk to port, port to mco and there price was 190.00 plus tip and one stop for us at the liquor store.. i just wanted to let you know. Maybe you should reconside, i was on the phone with gentleman for 30 to 45 mins and walked me through everything and i can say i feel much more comfortable with them, but they do not offer a discount, but if they are gonna give me better service and walk me through everything i am going to give them my business..

does anyone have any input on this maybe the king and queen lol :worship: :worship: .. just to reassure myself i am making the right decision

Sean...

Beano & I have never used So. Elegence before, so I can't help ya there. You are usually safe to go with a gut instinct... :)

Hugs,

RonnieJo :flower:

ronniejo,

is it true what i was told about getting into the port and what time are you leaving for port..

also any more on the t-shirts

I believe that the port doesn't open until 10:30 or 11. Hmmm, think thats correct? Tarzanman always drives....Hey Tim, am I correct??? :confused3

I am not in charge of the t-shirts, I believe that task has fallen upon zachsmom. To be certain go to page 1 of this thread and check for up-dated posts by Trishy.

Hugs,

RonnieJo :flower:

Our rental car from Budget was $25.00 , picking up at the airport on Friday and dropping off at the port on Saturday, if it helps you decide on anything.
According to Mousesavers the port opens sometime around 10am.

I've seen the Sherraton Safari on Betterbidding.com for $39.00 a night, our one night at the Raddisson is $109, so my frugality questions wheather it's worth the extra money to stay near the port.

Ronnie- As you know, Disney has not been too consistent with this policy. We would have thought that we had this down by now but it has been different each time. The general rule for us has been to be at the gate by 10. Boarding the ship can start as early as 11-11:30AM? but as late as 1PM depending on customs officials and things. That is what they mean by the port opening at 11. The port is not open until boarding begins. The line to board begins when they open the gate, which as you know, last time was not the same as it has been every other time we have been there.

I am sure that our trusty TA can answer this one for us. Are you out there? Come back.

Morning...I am SOOO glad that we are now at the Radisson. Takes alot of worry about "what-if" I was having. A good friend lives on Merritt Island, so she is going to come over and visit me! I think I will start pulling out the suitcase (who am I kidding, they are already pulled to the side of my closet) and thinking logistics. I have already received my birth certificate ( in case my passport doesn't come in time) and I have Kate's. Does anyone know of you can bring the "mini" certificate. Florida issued a large certificate and a credit card style..both have the watermark and seal...it would be easier to carry. Maybe I will just take both.

MOM! (aka "the lurker) you still have the over the door shoe holder?

Beano - thanks again for the widget...it is so darn cute and Kate has learned to F12 to check it!

Good Morning all!!!! Yaa it is Friday

Well I think we might have a change of plans. We are going to spend the night before the cruise at the Radisson as well....what time is that meet???? :goodvibes Actually we won't get there until quite late as we are spending the day at Epcot. DH wants to be closer to the port on the Saturday....unfortunatley that means I am giving up my limo... :sad2: However, this is the plans today...that doesn't mean it won't change by tomorrow... :rotfl: I would still like to be at the Port for 10AM. I want to start the cruise experience ASAP

Now close is the Radisson to the Port???

OK, so T or T is at 10AM. 1 more question. Is it a room to room thing????

My suitcases have been out for a few months.... But that is OK, they are only in the spare bedroom and are keeping all my trip stuff in one place. :earseek:

I am sure I will be back on later chatting...not in the mood to work today :rolleyes1

Kim

I wish I still had a spare room!! My closet is pretty big, so they can be open in there and DH has his own closet, so he won't trip over them.

I don't feel like working today either Kim...I am only here till 1pm on Friday's so that will make it better, but my head is starting to swim with all the things I need to get done in the next 69 days!

Oh I know what you mean. :guilty:

There is so much planning but I love to plan. DH says I enjoy the planning as much as the trip. This one is just overwhelming me however.

I keep changing my mind on where I want to stay and what form of transportation I want to use. :confused3 OK, I have got 67 sleeps to figure it out.... :rotfl:

Kim

Rachel, I'm glad your flight is coming in the day before. There are just too many horror stories of flight delays, and flying into the first port to meet the ship would be on Tuesday :scared: - I'd hate for that to happen to you. Disney sugarcoats everything. I'm glad you'll be there early. The port is about a 10-15 minute drive from the Radisson - there's Avis or Budget for rental cars, but there are also taxi's. Check out this Port Canaveral transportation site for lots of options: PORT CANAVERAL

Sean - I'll add your and your wife's name to the list if you wish. I was just putting everyone's user names, but if you guys want, I've been paying close attention and have pretty close to all of your names if all of you want them added. :confused3 It's no problem at all. Let me know.

ToT'g will be room to room - in groups of 4 (supervised by group leaders) with each group starting on a different deck and working their way down (ex. start on deck 2, go to deck 8, then 7, then 6, etc.). We'll meet in the atrium and end there too if you guys want so the kids can all join up and disperse however they want (clubs, lunch, rooms, running freely around the ship on a sugar high :rotfl: ).

Betsy: DCL only requires that the raised seal and watermark be on the certificate and the mini's have that. It'll be fine - actually perfect since it's easier to pack.

I asked our friends who just cruised on the Wonder in July and they said they didn't let cars in until 10:15 (they said the security guy made a big deal out of how he was letting them in "early" - so they're thinking maybe the official policy is 10:30???).

WAHOOOO! It's getting close! Man, I need this vacation badly! We're in the process of selling our house - just put it on the market yesterday (not moving into our new home until December - so we'll hopefully be homeless for a couple of months if the house goes quickly). I'm an absolute wreck - it's just too much work to get a house ready to sell and god help us when we actually have to move.

Thanks for all the info Trish.

I had it all wrong, I thought you could get in and line up at the gates and security check etc would start at 10:30. What if you have a shuttle from a car rental drop you off earlier....do you have to stand at the side of the road??? Actually that is fine with me as long as I am in line. If we do the car rental route DH was going to drop us and the luggage off then go to Budget for 10AM to have the shuttle guy bring him back?? Will that work???
UUGGHH....Does any of that ramble make sense????

What if no raised seal...I saw that DCL wants that, but mine that I ordered and DD's has the watermark....!!! :earseek:
