I read reports from the Segway company in Nassau, that the town came through without a scratch, I am taking that with a grain of salt, they are use to tropical storms and may have a different evaluation then us of "without a sctrach"

I was watching the Weather Channel all day yesterday and they kept showing live video from Nassau. It looked pretty bad to me and I've been through hurricanes Fances, Jeanne, Wilma and that nasty tropical storm Fay.

It sounds like the Dream docked in Nassau today and will dock at CC tomorrow. Although, I haven't heard if passengers were/will be let off the ship.

I did the one with DCL years ago with this company Bahama Segway it was a great experience in a nature reserve. There is a second company and I am thinking of taking the tour with the other group, Nassua Segway. This was the group that posted on facebook, "without a scratch"

Looking at both websites, I like the Nassua Segway better. Seems more of a Nassau tour but at $75/pp for only 1.5 hrs seems a little expensive. Tours in San Fransisco only run $70 for 2-3hr tours. And the tour we took in Barcelona a couple of years ago was only $70 euro and lasted almost 4 hours.

The Bahama Segway looked like it lasted only about 1-1.5 hours as they state the tour is 3hr (-1hr travel, -30min beach time, leaves only 90 minutes).

I wish I could just rent a Segway for the day and have my own tour.

DCL just announced, on facebook, that the current cruise will not visit CC, too much cleaning up to do. It will visit Nassau for a second day.

Now that we are quite the close knit group, would people be willing to give out info on everyone in your group? Names and ages of children, etc. I am trying to finalize my FE items before making them and I want to be sure I have things for all ages and genders and possibly names for things. Thanks!!

I am not worried, some cruises do miss out on stopping at Castaway Cay due to hurricanes or storms messing up the island and that is always frustrating. But, the ship is big and wonderful and another day on the ship does not bother me at all.

PS. The only other port on this cruise is Nassau and we never got off the ship the last two times it went into port. Just stayed on the ship and enjoyed it. There is plenty to do on ship, I would be happy with all sea days.

I really hope we don't have to miss Castaway Cay. We are really looking forward to it. Nassau we don't really care about other than getting our brand new passports stamped.

Just wondering who is going to bring costumes/ pirate outfits for the contest and for trick or treating? I am going to dress up, not thinking my husband or son will though.

Trick or Treating? I didn't know that would be taking place. Is it done on Pirate night? I though we didn't have an official costume night on the 3 day cruise. Please tell me more.

Just another reason to do another Disney Cruise... There are some cruises that only dock at Castaway Cay (twice)

Luckily, we've always been able to go to Castaway Cay on all our cruises that ended up in the Bahamas.

We won't miss CC because of Irene. I think it took about a month to get it back up and running after Frances in 2004. I'm guessing it won't take that long this time.

Just read this on another thread.

I am writing this from Olive's Restaurant in Nassau, on the Dream doing a back to back (this is the 2nd one.)

I was told by several staff at guest services that the damage is heavy and bulldozers are being sent in. A full team is en route today. They told me CC would be out of commission for at least a few cruises. Reported roofs blown off and water in Cookies II.
