The top item that I must find is a tazanite ring. I bought one, also with diamonds in white gold from Marshall Fields for $400 and oh my gosh is it dull! Once I saw a true tazanite stone, I was shocked!

I want to find one that has true color!

Lots of t-shirts for Noah, of course. I love one we got on Castaway Cay that has Stitch on it and says "trouble in paradise". That's him, for sure!

It was 105 (heat index) and 99 real degrees today. It was HOT HOT HOT. Cooler air on it's way for tomorrow. I can't wait! :goodvibes

I KNOW we weren't almost on page 3! LOL! How is everyone doing in the heat wave? Keeping cool I hope!

I keep trying to remind myself that the vacation is over a year away but I keep acting like it's this October! LOL! Is anyone else feeling this way? I almost let it slip today about the WDW part of our trip. DS was asking if we could just drive to WDW and ride POTC. How funny is that! We are 12 hours away! I wish we could just do that one day! Maybe if gas wasn't so freaking expensive we could.

Ok, I'll quit rambling. I just wanted to keep us alive on the boards!

Has anyone noticed we are nearing our 400th post? :thumbsup2

Hey where is everyone....

We seemed to have slowed down a bit. I guess everyone is busy with summer stuff.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend

Kim

Sorry Ladies... my Dad is here and today we are going to a family reunion. I've been visiting, cooking and prior to the arrival CLEANING!!!

I'll be back to normal soon. Miss you all!

Went down to our coast yesterday and helped build a playground at an elementary school that was affected by the hurricane. Please spread the word that our coast is no where near normal. All you hear about is New Orleans but our coast took a DIRECT hit from this storm. I've lived here all my life and was disoriented at times on the beach because there is NOTHING standing in some places. DS and I were walking on the beach and came across plates, clothes, curtains, bathtubs and pieces of Christmas trees along the beach. The beach we were on has been "cleaned". It is just awful down there. I want to scream to the major news networks about ppl still living in tents beside FEMA trailers down there. No one seems to care. I get so angry reading about New Orleans and how bad they have it. I've been there and believe me, they had some damage, but nothing like our coast. I guess since our population didn't start looting and killing each other the media thinks they aren't newsworthy. It's sad that the news only picks up on stuff like that. I wish someone would do a documentary on the MS coast and let the world in the fact that it is destroyed and no matter what anyone says, will never be the same again.

OK, I'll get off my soapbox now. Just an emotional subject for me. I took tomorrow off since son starts 1st grade on Tues and didn't have day camp. We are going to go see a movie.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

That is my point exactly! The ppl on our coast are doing it themselves and not waiting for the government to do it for them and they aren't getting any coverage for it! I just want ppl to know that they are still in dire straits and busting their butts to rebuild the right way and on their own accord. There are still church groups and other organizations that come help and I honestly don't know where the coast would be without them! It just burns me up that the only press we seem to get in Mississippi is bad press. We are the fattest state, the poorest state, the dumbest state, racist state, etc, etc. BUT, when we do something good, we don't ever get credit for it. After hurricane Camille in 1969, the coast was brought to its knees. It was turned into a resort destination with the casino's and beaches. They had a great community down there along with the tourism. Talk about southern hospitality! Then Katrina comes and takes all of the material stuff away and guess what? The community is still there and they should get the recognition they deserve for being such great ppl without holding out their hands for government handouts! Sure, there are some that frauded the government, but they are from inland Mississippi and various other states. The ones on the coast needed the money to survive. I just wish someone would do a report on the coast now, a year later so ppl could see not much has changed.

OK, I promise I'm done on the subject unless anyone wants to ask. Sorry if I ruined your day. I know this is supposed to be a happy place we all escape to. Sorry about the rampage :guilty: .

I have an idea! We need to come up with a name for our group so we can have huggies/coolies made for us! I saw it in a few trip reports and thought it'd be neat.

I feel all alone on here today! Try to come to cruise chat tonight! We have fun, don't we pj?

Hi All  What a day. I LOVE seeing family and reminiscing but wow... is it exhausting!!

Vital - sorry to hear about how things are down there. My nephew was stationed in Mississippi at the naval base and it was in the direct path as well. He and his family were actually on leave here in Michigan, but they had an ocean front apartment and lost everything too. Sadly, that included my DS's baby furniture that we hand lended to them. Katrina's ugly hand reached all the way up here too! I know it's not right to mention the loss of furniture when so many lost their lives - just saying that the Katrina was felt in my family as well. We, were blessed, while so many others lost so much more! :sad2:

I see, as you state, reports on New Orleans, but little or nothing on the rest of the areas. My heart goes out to you and don't ever feel that you can't vent here. It's what we are for! :goodvibes

You are a good person and your feelings are very valid. Keep your chin up and I hope that things only get better! :grouphug:

I have tentatively called this cruise, in my planning book, Cruising around the Moon - A Magical All Hallows Eve 2007.

Thanks for the kind words about my ranting! I'm off the subject for now and I feel much better!

I like the idea of the treat bags. We can do them for kids and adults as well! You can never be too old for trick or treating!

I also like the slogan for the cruise. I'm not creative at all when it comes to things like that!

I'm off work today. My DS starts 1st grade tomorrw so we are playing hooky and going to see Barnyard!

Hope y'all have a great Monday! Oh, before I forget, I was on cruisecritic and noticed some familiar names. Could that be anyone on here? LOL!

The day befor we sail will be a full MOON :wizard:

How cool is that!?

I must confess about our movie today. When we got to the theater DS asks if we can see POTC again instead of Barnyard. Who was I to argue? LOLOL! :rotfl: I said, " Why sure we can." and his reply was, " I knew you would." Kids are so smart!
